Also working opposite Selfridges takes a lot of self control, as well as NEVER taking bank or credit cards to work £5 cash only

Teladi · 17/05/2015 21:58

Hello, just marking my place. I've started using some of my new products and my face is really smooth now, but still red. Hoping the Effaclar Duo will help with that over time.

AngryBeaver · 18/05/2015 08:56

I have tried to order retin a , a peel, and serum. But they dint deliver to nz. So I've had to send it to my mum and ask her to ots it to me.
I will just have to wait!!
Oh and pharmacy Geoff ? Would only send to America, am I looking at the right one?

Oh dear, oh dear I thought I was survivng the retin a quite well until I had an eye test today. I have a lovely marbled patina on my nose, an attractive combination of foundation and peeling skin.

dontcallmelen · 18/05/2015 18:41

Lindt70Percent · 18/05/2015 19:23

Hi everyone. I've been following these threads for the last couple of weeks and have been making a huge effort with my skin and can already see the difference. My skin care routine was non-existent before.

Anyway, I've got:

  • Clarins Melting cleanser stuff
  • Clearasil wipes for acid toning
  • Serum from Aldi
  • Moisturiser - Nivea and the Clarins day cream that makes me really shiny.
  • SPF 30

I think I'm missing the retin-a stuff for overnight. Can someone recommend some to me. I'm 43. Skin is normal to dry. I've tried to work it all out but I'm finding all of this really confusing! I just want someone to say 'Get this ...'. Sorry to be a bit pathetic!

Thank you!

Hi all, I've been using the CH advice for skincare for about a month now and noticed such a difference in my skin! I've just added retin a 0.025% to my regime. I was using it every 3 days and have now started using it every second night as I've had no negative affects. I keep wondering if it's working because I've had no peeling! I must have very tough skin. I have bought vit e and hylamide and was wondering about using one of these serums before the retin a? Or my nip and fab pads?

bigbuttons · 18/05/2015 20:53

You don't have to peel with retin A. The idea is that you don't peel actually. It sounds like you have a good strength for your skin. Once you are able to tolerate that strength nightly then you can move up to the 0.5.
It's fine to use nip and fab and serum before the retin. I personally do the retin last thing before bed. The rest of the routine is done earlier in the evening.Smile

Question - I'm not up on the skin terminology yet so not sure what to search for online. My DH (late 30s) has been using exfoliating scrubs so was telling him about acid toner and we were having bit of skin chat! He has some little bumps on his face - they're not whiteheads or those sore cystic spots - I don't know what they're called. They're skin coloured and if you pick at them they're just skin if you see what I mean. He feels his skin texture could be improved but I don't know what he should be using to improve it. He's actually into using 'nice' products so suggestions are welcomed...

Norfolkandchance1234 · 18/05/2015 23:25

Teladi - I think they sound like milia and the clearasil pads should get rid of those hopefully.

I have now added a hydrating tone to my routine, as I think my skin is more sensitive than I previously thought. I'm still waiting for a lot of the old acne scars to fade though, some of the newer ones have really diminished but I still hate my blotchy skin without make up :-( how long in general does it take for these to fade? I'm not sure the effaclar duo is enough and I'm wondering if I should be adding a retinol. I'm only 32 but I do have crap skin. Where does it fit into the routine? Currently I double cleanse, acid tone, hydrating tone, effaclar duo then moisturise with the exception on Mondays and Thursdays when I use liquid gold after cleansing and skip everything else. Also where can I get the retinol from? I had saved the ebay retin a link but the seller has removed the listing!

CindyEcstacy · 19/05/2015 11:19

Yay! New thread. I've been lurking all along but rarely post as on stupid phone not laptop.

Will update with all my exciting purchases later. Skin soooooo much better but dark circles look worse (I think a PP also said that) so looking for a cure

Itsalldramarama · 19/05/2015 12:25

Well my 2 extra eye spots have faded and skin is looking good :) biggest factor I think are the nip and fab pads and also am seeing further improvement with redermic R using every night
Waiting for some Retin a so hopefully skin will take well to that !
Were I am lacking is sun protection which I will need if step up to retin a ! It's cold wet and stormy in the NE and to be fair I'm only outdoors at the week end but hopefully it will warm up !
Sooo recommend me a good one :)
Where does it fit in to routine ??? Is it last thing or first ?! If first surely other products are less effective ? Help please !

EthelCardew · 19/05/2015 12:49

Been lurking around soaking in all this information as I'm trying to change my bad habits and get a good routine together.

I've never bothered with daily SPF outside of smearing some sun lotion on for summer days in the park but I want to start.

I don't use make up every day but when I do I use Bourjois 123 CC cream, which is SPF15. Is this enough? Should I use an SPF moisturiser as well?

And also, can anyone recommend a daily SPF moisturiser that would suit dry, dehydrated, sensitive and reactive skin I would be eternally grateful. I realise finding the perfect product will be a minefield!

Ethel, I think no foundation with SPF is enough because we just don't put enough foundation on iyswim?

Fatstacks · 19/05/2015 13:51

Totallyaddicted I got mine from pharmacy geoff uk.

I use it every three days PM after acid tone.
Start off low and build up, 0.025 tretoin.

Fatstacks · 19/05/2015 13:53

Tretinoin not Trenton.

Fatstacks · 19/05/2015 13:53

Shitty thing.
