Here's the link someone posted on the previous thread if you scroll to the bottom it talks about percentages, I haven't tried it yet. www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/comments/1lfm47/diy_vitamin_c_serum_a_really_full_explanation/

Hello!
Ok, I have four kids that are going to need feeding shortly.
So I would be immensely grateful if someone would just look at this list and tell me if I'm on the right track.
My regime will be on a budget, we are starting a business so no treats for me for a good while!

(I did try a hyraloranic acid serum a while ago and initially it was wonderful but soon made me break out in lots of tiny spots under my skin, so I ditched it)

I'm going to order a peel from NOVOpeel on ebay. (But the bottles look very small? Is there a particular one I should get?)

I'm going to order
Tretinoin 0.1% gel from Pharmacy Geoff.

Also a serum from ebay that gets good very reviews and is about £5.

Do I need to get retin A as well?

And I what order do I need to use these these things, please??

Fatstacks · 17/05/2015 05:47

The tretinoin is Retin A I think Beaver and it may be wise to start low, 0.025 and build up to 0.1.

Clearasil pads are popular and 99p so affordable (I haven't tried them yet I use lrp or nip fab pads)

No clue about the peels but Buttons linked to a supply/recipe site for bargain serums last thread.

www.activeformulas.com/

It was on the Korean skincare thread.
binging on skincare threads

AngryBeaver · 17/05/2015 07:18

Thanks fatstacks. I live in nz, not sure they do clearasil here.

Place marking so I can find new thread later :)

Tanaqui, getting the invite was odd, it was addressed to me but my work address - cannot remember signing up to anything, don't usually, but think it must have been work related, as its certainly not based on how many times you've visited the shop - twice now!!!

Woke up this morning and skin looked lovely, much fresher (for me) but it's Retin A day again and I'm afraid to put it back on, it seems to be taking a long time for my skin to tolerate it.
Going to buffer it and put on moisturiser tonight and see if that's better, can't see me ever getting to more than once a week at the moment.
However, can really recommend this lovely soothing Avene stuff for anyone who's also a bit red, stingy and peely after being a little..ahem.. overenthusiastic with anything.

bigbuttons · 17/05/2015 10:24

For diy you want actives formulas
For cheap serums etc you want SR. skincare

Yes Tretinoin is retin A. I strongly advice against starting with 0.1 though.

Yes, if you use retinols/ retin/ vit c, anything brightening you MUST be on top of sunscreen otherwise don't both using it.

I think you are supposed to reapply every 2 hours.
I don't really believe the once a day claims that some manufacturers have. It's not worth the risk trying that out.
The heliocare I'm sure is giving me spots. I find it very very greasy. I'm not going to use it on my face any more. i love the biore milk. It goes on like silk. Trouble is the bottles are so small.
Ultra sun gets good reviews. The neutrogena gets mixed reviews. Mostly good on Amazon but not great on make up alley.

My parents are in America at the moment and have asked if I would like them to get anything for me. They are going to get me some cetaphil and CeraVe - I think it is American? Anything else skincare-wise you can think of?

So if anyone like myself is new to all this and wants to read all the earlier advice settles down with brew and a biscuit

P.S. I hope my shortcut worked!!

Hmmm well the super 16 serum is not so super, woke up in the middle of the night, to a sore face[hmmm] think I could actually see dehydration creping in cheeks! had to smother myself in Nivea to recover. However on the plus my new Dr Dennis Roth colour change cleanser is lovely. Have a plan to double mask tonight as the cleanser can be used as mask and the back to bouncy sleep mask and liquid gold on alternate nights, definaltely works for me also the other thing I have obtained is the dr Dennis Roth alpha beta peels (lovely lady in Nordstrom, US gave me them) step one surface refiner, In a pad/wipe, all over face the leave two mis and the step two "deeper treatment" loving these on alternate days to Malin and Goetz acid pads. Only three left and have to locate them in London!!

Buttons - 24th is Sunday not Wednesday - can meet in selfridges if that works.

bigbuttons · 17/05/2015 15:51
