Sandals for schlepping for miles around city streets

Any recs? Tan, black or grey and as comfortable as humanly possible without looking like my gran would wear them. Absolutely no to Fitflops, Ecco, or anything that looks as if Millets might sell it. Not totally flat, and ideally with some nice squidginess in them. Not flip flops and no toe post. Must have straps and not just be slider things or mules.

No more than £60 and would prefer less, as they'll get wrecked quite quickly.

I may well be asking the impossible.

traviata, thanks for the ecco link, have just ordered new work shoes.

OP you are after the holy grail, I know what you mean and can picture them, I would like the same, and am watching with interest.

Can't see anything on the M&S site.

RJnomore · 18/04/2015 22:13

Remus, I had those sandals circa 1998 and I'm still looking for them again...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/04/2015 22:14

Nope, Belinda. I really don't. Sorry.

I can schlep for hours in my fitflops and I have v fussy feet. They are just as attractive as anything else I have seen on the feet of walking women in sunny cities; quite pricey but they won't fall apart.

agoodbook · 18/04/2015 22:16

I love merrells - great for pavement pounding, bit expensive but they last years. I buy mine from a local independent
shop, so maybe one near you

CapnMurica · 18/04/2015 22:17

I love these www.clarks.co.uk/p/26106081 they've only got a little heel.

CoconutAmericano · 18/04/2015 22:18

I have been lusting after Esska India sandals for ages. I think they look fab, are leather and would imagine are really comfortable.

RJnomore · 18/04/2015 22:19

There are a few on the jonesBootmaker website I'm debating, price from £55 to £89 though

DustBunnyFarmer · 18/04/2015 22:20

Capn - you and I are not working from the same reference points to define "tiny" heels. Grin

I'm back to lurking.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/04/2015 22:21

Hate those, Belinda. Sorry.
Hate the Merrells.

Little heel ones no good, Capn - am talking about walking miles for sightseeing etc, not just tottering around the shops for a few hours.

I have the esska India- they are as comfortable as you imagine them to be, coconut Grin

They are by far the most comfortable, squidgy sandals I've ever worn- I've walked miles in them- but I think you're not keen on them, Remus?

india

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/04/2015 22:26

They are quite nice, Teths, but too expensive. I think I want v slightly less flat too.

OP posts:
tethersend · 18/04/2015 22:27

I actually don't mind these

DustBunnyFarmer · 18/04/2015 22:27

I love the unsparkly fitflop banda sandals - they are much slighter than the usual ones and fully leather lined. Unfortunately my size has sold out in the colour I want. Sad

CoconutAmericano · 18/04/2015 22:28

No way tethersend! I really have to scratch that itch this summer Grin

tethersend · 18/04/2015 22:28

Yokono ones also vv comfy and supportive

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/04/2015 22:29

Yurgh - don't like those at all, Tethers.

OP posts:
CoconutAmericano · 18/04/2015 22:30

Oh i really like yokono too but the ones i have are velcro fastening and they dont fasten tight enough round my feet Sad. Need proper straps!

tethersend · 18/04/2015 22:30

What sort of shape are you after, Remus? Two part or all over strap type things?

CoconutAmericano · 18/04/2015 22:31

Art sandals?
