Sandals for schlepping for miles around city streets

Any recs? Tan, black or grey and as comfortable as humanly possible without looking like my gran would wear them. Absolutely no to Fitflops, Ecco, or anything that looks as if Millets might sell it. Not totally flat, and ideally with some nice squidginess in them. Not flip flops and no toe post. Must have straps and not just be slider things or mules.

No more than £60 and would prefer less, as they'll get wrecked quite quickly.

I may well be asking the impossible.

I love this thread. I've bought a pair of pikolinos for general frock wearing, and am thinking I need the red Teva wedges for Euro Disney. Are they really that comfortable?

OvertiredandConfused · 21/04/2015 13:26

Just tried these. So comfortable and not too Millets-like!

Just searched that shoe, Overtired, and discovered Millett's do indeed sell Teva Grin As long as we don't tell anyone where we got them ... it's quite an endorsement of their suitability for walking!

OvertiredandConfused · 21/04/2015 14:19

I've bought a very similar pair - same brand but in the blue - and they really do look okay. Maybe not high fashion, but perfectly respectable with jeans, dresses, shorts and skirts. Just "wearing them in" at my desk but they don't really need it - feel very comfortable

PiggyMummy · 21/04/2015 20:06

I bought these in gold last year: www.clarks.co.uk/p/20358281

They are honestly the comfiest sandals I've ever had and I'm considering buying the exact same ones this year. I walked four miles at a quickish pace pushing a buggy the first time I wore them, and not so much as a graze. Wore them all summer (and I walk everywhere).

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/04/2015 20:16

I like those, Piggy - they are already on my 'Considering' list.

Waits for Elizabeth to gasp in horror. Grin

I sympathise OP, since stylish yet comfortable sandals that I can walk in are my holy grail too! Haven't read whole thread yet, so sorry if these have been mentioned, but have you tried the Leeward sandals by Hotter? On the website their look supportive but much less 'chunky' than some of their other ones. They come in three colours too, and there's a discount code (you can use that in the store too if you mention it). Off to google more shoes now from the thread! Smile

CheekyBambino · 22/04/2015 11:37

'They' not 'their' - on phone!

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 22/04/2015 20:49

These are leather, padded and cheap. Plus, I like how they look www.newlook.com/shop/shoe-gallery/view-all-shoes/tan-leather-twist-caged-sandals-_333865418

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/04/2015 21:02

Thanks. Don't like the Hotter ones. Do like the NL ones but too flat for the hours and miles I'm likely to be walking.

I bought these for stomping around cobbled streets at Easter (so don't slag them off plz)

Very very comfortable, like walking in puffy marshmallows.

BabyGanoush · 23/04/2015 11:12

That Rieker one looks acceptable to me Smile

Behooven · 23/04/2015 20:16

Thanks baby Grin I love them!

Teladi · 23/04/2015 20:18

I also like the Teva Kayentas ^

GuiltyAsAGirlCanBe · 23/04/2015 20:28

I live in my fit flops - some of them are quite ugly, but I have some tan leather ones that are quite nice and go with anything.

I also have some brown leather Birkenstocks that also go with anything - but again not very dainty!

SpicedGingerTea · 23/04/2015 21:57

Another vote for these www.clarks.co.uk/p/20358281

I wore them to death last year, walked everywhere in them, they were far more comfortable than my walking sandals.

I liked them so much I have bought 2 more pairs! Blush

Any luck Remus? My adverts on here are all sandals thanks to this thread!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/04/2015 22:04

Looked in Clarks today and confirmed that I definitely like the ones that Tricky re-linked below. Not seen any of the others yet. Looked in Skechers but left again in a panic, without trying anything on. They are, sadly, not at all nice looking.

I may have to try some new Balance on again, but they really, really don't suit me. Is there anything like them without the ridiculously huge 'N' on the side?

These sandals are very comfortable.

Have you looked at M&S girls shoes?

Some nice sandals and trainers, very cheap.

I've ordered a few so will let you know what they're like.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/04/2015 10:52

www.marksandspencer.com/leather-metallic-finish-buckle-sandals/p/p22373732These M&S girls' ones look nice, but probably too flat. They come in red too.
