Evening,

Am relaxing with mint tea after a hectic but fun day. We did an Easter egg hunt as will be away next week (no rhyming clues Novice, more of a mass charge Grin). The salmon worked out well. Pic attached but you don't really see the scale, it was huge and only just fit in the oven. Didn't make the crust Santa, the filling took long enough, salmon fillet wrapped in salmon mousse, spinach then a chive pancake layer to keep the crust crisp. The dc thought it was great fun.

Karbea poor you, get well soon.

I spend less on maintenance than 10+ years ago but on different things. Like blair I see dermatologist instead of having beautician facials. Used to go to Clarins once every few weeks and bought all their products but now use only dermo approved or pharmacy ones like uriage or la Roche P which are cheaper. Have stopped shellac nails, don't colour my hair any more and wear very little makeup. Wardrobe spend is however a very different matter...

Blair would love to see your pics but not on fb, will pm you my email in case you're doing a round robin.

Marsha well done on your decision.

Right, off to watch some HOC. Need to be done with it before holidays. Night all.

Wow Mara that salmon is v impressive - well done!

Karbea · 29/03/2015 21:30

Mara the salmon is excellent.

I think I should see a dermatologist, I'm clearly allergic to something in products that are meant for sensitive skin or a food, as every now and then my cheeks get very sore, swollen and spotty.

shopafrolic · 29/03/2015 21:33

Santa can you PM me more about your dermatologist please?
Mara amazing!

Karbea · 29/03/2015 21:41

santa and me!

santamarianovella · 29/03/2015 21:56

mara that's impressive, you deserve a Star , finally got to use the star emoticon.

linus there are some really good dermatologist in your area, its worth searching,

Topazandpearl · 29/03/2015 22:22

Excellent mara, I'm sure it was delicious.

Well done on the decision marsha and glad you got your kitchen sorted.

Lib if in the future you want to consider a dog, I can recommend a greyhound - otherwise known as the cats of the dog world Wink. (And they don't smell - apparently due to them not having an oily undercoat). You can get retired ex-racers, assuming they have greyhound racing in Aus/NZ.

Your hen do sounds wonderful Blair. Yes, you really are on the count-down now!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 29/03/2015 22:26

santa's dermatologist is an acne specialist which is why I see her - I didn't do any other research so I can't help with general dermatologist advice Blush. she is amazing though, my skin is loads better, I'm seeing her on Wednesday again.

The fish looks great mara! Round robin is a good idea, if anyone else who has met me but isn't on fb wants to also let me have their email, go ahead and I'll send something round when I get the actual pics, I didn't take any and they're only on facebook at the moment!

justasecond · 29/03/2015 22:51

Your hen do sounds ace Blair
That looks amazing and sounds delicious Mara
Another low maintenance one here. I never have facials as I don't really like people touching me ditto massages. I did once have a facial about 8 years ago after I had dd2 , looked knackered my mum basically forced me. I hated it, the lady doing it had really cold fingers and I couldn't wait for it to end.
I do wear makeup everyday but not much, just enough to cover the dark circles and aneamic (sp?) palour. Clothes, shoes and bags, however is a different story Grin

I saw these yesterday[[http://www.dunelondon.com/ferne-soft-leather-lace-up-brogue-shoe-0848506030005506/ brogues]] I am a bit late to the party but they were really flattering on, comfy and the colour is lovely. Lib you might like them in the beige. if you see them give them a try.

LinusDKD · 30/03/2015 07:33

Morning!

Impressive salmon mara! DH and I once made seabass in a salt crust and it was delicious.

santa I actually have a dermatologist but only to have my moles checked regularly. I actually don't know if he's any good with regards to cosmetic dermatology.

I've wanted to make an appointment with another dr as she's been recommended but it's impossible to get an app so far.

blair I had acne in my teens and it really knocked my confidence. Glad your treatment is working!

karbea could it be rosacea you suffer from?

Rubbish weather here again so I'm wearing Jimmies, Cos breton and bikers.

QueenCardigan · 30/03/2015 08:06

I'm back ! I took a much needed Internet break although managed to make a couple of purchases. It's amazing how much more productive I've been-done jobs around the house that I've been meaning to do and read a book in a day! But there's no way I'm going to survive the Easter hols without the distraction of you lot Smile.

I'm not even going to attempt to catch up so will just slot back in here. I know shop is off to sunnier climes (jealous, moi?) but what's everyone else up to....?

shopafrolic · 30/03/2015 08:18

Waves to QueenC
Blair you look so beautiful in your FB pics - your legs Shock, that dress, those shoes - gorgeous
First time drying my new haircut this morning - surprisingly easy so was the right decision to keep growing it. We're aiming for a Sienna kind of thing
or this
Really impressed with the lash lift and tint too. No make up on this morning and I don't look dead - impressive! Grin

OP posts:
Karbea · 30/03/2015 08:44

What is a lift lash? Is it false lashes?

Karbea · 30/03/2015 08:49

linus yes I think it is! you know I googled rosacea ages ago and didn't think it was! just did it again and it so clearly is!

AmberNectarine · 30/03/2015 08:56

Morning all

First day of the holidays and little DD isn't well Sad - looks like we'll be having a quiet day. DCs have each got an ipad on their lap so I will seize the opportunity to do a workout.

Maintenance question is interesting - I guess I'm still youngish so maybe not relevant but I'm still pretty lazy - never get manicures or pedicures, mostly use Nivea to moisturise and only wear make up when I go out at night. No gym membership or PT - I run or do strength training at home. I've just started going to spin classes though which are great. Am thinking about botox though.

shopafrolic · 30/03/2015 09:09

Lash lift It's basically a perm and tint for your eyelashes.

OP posts:
Karbea · 30/03/2015 09:34

I've still got flu, I actually feel not better which is crazy.

Anyway no wonder my skin is bad, I've been trying to eat well lately, banana and fruit smoothies, natural, yogurt, a treat of a coffee a day, lots of curries with veg. I even had some blue cheese which I hardly ever treat myself to... Pretty much everything on the list of rose aces triggers!

Karbea · 30/03/2015 09:37

I meant no better. Sorry for typos, sneezing between each key stroke!

bettykt · 30/03/2015 09:39

Welcomes back QueenC out on bikes with dc today, they're doing various swimming/tennis camps this Easter and on day's they aren't them it bikes and day trips for us.

Impressive salmon Mara bet it tasted delicious

Hope dd gets well soon Amber

Shop thank you, I've downloaded the water app, how are your holiday preparations coming along? Not long now or have you gone?

Re: maintenance, I'm pretty low maintenance, have always had a gym membership and I sometimes work out with a pt. I tend to go through phases, when I was working ft pre dc I had regular waxing and hair appointments, now it's a bit more sporadic, i.e. before holidays and nights out. I've upped my make up routine now as I find that's something I need to wear almost daily to look human and as for clothes etc I've gone back to buying less but better, went through a cheap clothes phases post dc when I lost my way, style wise.

OOTD will be casual relaxed, will be on my bike so not stylish at all.

LinusDKD · 30/03/2015 09:41

karbea Lisa Eldridge did a great video on rosacea recently, have a look.

shopafrolic · 30/03/2015 09:42

Betty I go next week :) Suitcases are out, just need to start filling them.

OP posts:
bettykt · 30/03/2015 10:01

Shop how exciting, I love the build up to a holiday.

BrandyAlexander · 30/03/2015 10:20

blimey Amber I know we only met briefly but you look very youthful to me! sorry to hear about your dd.Sad

the botox thing is one that passes me by. I spend most of my time trying to be taken seriously at work and look olderConfused I am sure one day I will look back and fret about looking younger but dm routinely gets mistaken for someone 25 years younger so maybe not!

Welcome back QueenC. nothing much going on for us this Easter. dcs are off for 3.5 weeks but we aren't away. They have tennis camp (just mornings) for the next 2 weeks and dh and I have taken 5 random days off to spend with them. we will be decorating the house for Easter with homemade decorations. we have already made the bonnets. We might have family round next weekend and I have to sort out the Easter bunny's visit.Hmm

BrandyAlexander · 30/03/2015 10:31

meant to add i feel like such a genius because i have finally worked out what to do for Easter Egg hunt for my dc who hates chocolate. colourful plastic egg that i can fill with sweets is on its way. most sensible people would have worked that out ages ago!Blush Blush

fashion wise, I am a vision of pink and grey today. LKB ariella dress on hot pink with grey cashmere scarf and grey Chloe paraty bag. I am seeing my actress coach today as I have 4 really important meetings over the next week so she will help me prepare for them.

QueenCardigan · 30/03/2015 10:39

I've just dragged my kids to circuits so they're pretty knackered now bless them.
sho did you decide to keep growing it? I lve Sienna's hair but I have no texture do it would never look like that.

I assume that someone asked about maintenance? My hair is my biggest thing. £50 for a cut every 6-8 weeks. I get my eyelashes tinted and eyebrows waxed every 2-3 months. I love getting a pedicure at the start of sandal season just to get rid of all that dry hard skin that builds up over winter. I get a vinulyx Polish done about twice a year for very special occasions. Circuits class once a week but can't wait to increase this once dd starts school. I wear make up every day but most days just powder or tinted moisturisers if I need more coverage with blusher and lippy. Other than that I'd say I'm fairly low maintenance Grin
