Hello all been away for a few days so just catching up on all the news and links

Your hen do sounds fab Blair ! Glad you had a good time.

shop I love pacing for a holiday. Hate unpacking when we get back though. Have you got everything you need or are you still purchasing ?

Maintenance wise I don't think I am that high. I get my hair cut very few months and have a facial every now and again. My high spend area is my skin though. But I think that's worth it.

Have been in the highlands of Scotland for the last few days so have mainly been in wellies and riding gear! Not very stylish Grin

Am off to a gala ballet performance this week and I have no idea what to wear. It will be quite emotional as I used to dance professionally till I got injured many years ago and a lot of my old teachers and fellow dancers will be there. It's been a long time since I left but it still kicks a bit that I had to leave when I did because of injury Sad

Hope everyone who has been under the weather feels better Flowers

shopafrolic · 30/03/2015 12:25

Everything bought Ellis :)

Flowers Ellis. V tough when circumstances out of your control mean the end of a dream or passion. Hope you can enjoy the performance.

I am running today, too many meetings but thankfully it all calms down on Wednesday and next week is very quiet so will have time to get my head together.

novice can you share some of your Easter hunt rhymes? I have never heard of doing that but I think DD would love it.

Drywhiteplease · 30/03/2015 13:19

Bloody wifi....I HATE it. Very grumpy as it disappeared from my bedroom, on my worst pmt day, so I blamed DH, had an almighty row, my DCs said I sounded like a teenager Shock stomped around "I can't even get Netflix....or MN!" Sad seems to be back..........I HATE TECHNOLOGY , really need a person to help.

QueenC knew you wouldn't be gone for long. Have downloaded your book.
Shop its getting so close now.....saw a white dress today in town, thought of you.
Ellis sorry to hear about your injury, horrid having to cut short your career. Do you still dance for fun?
Hope all MNV sick dCs are getting better.

Easter means our great trip south to visit family, can't wait.

OOTD......Jimmies, red merino Uniqlo crew neck, Burberry scarf, camel coat.....animal print Daniel ballet flats for 2mins, got cold feet....changed into Stans....much better. Still chilly.

Ellisisland · 30/03/2015 14:03

novice my DM used to do the rhyming hint every year for me and my DSis. We loved it. In fact she stopped when we were teenagers as she thought we were too old and we both complained so she started again! I am seeing her later so will see if she remembered

Ellisisland · 30/03/2015 14:16

novie my DM used to do a tresuq

Ellisisland · 30/03/2015 14:24

Oops sorry fat fingers Blush

novice my DM did one for us every year. I am seeing her later I'll see if she remembers any of the rhymes. I can't wait till my boys are old enough to enjoy things like that

Dry sadly it's my knees so I can't dance at all really. Definitely no point work. I got as far as a soloist for the royal ballet but one injury to many went no more dancing for me. I sti love to watch it and I like my job now so it's not all bad but nights with friends who still dance can be a bit bittersweet.

I do have some of my old costumes though which are gorgeous but have no DDs to pass them onto. Am hoping some I make some friends with DDs who would like them! Seems a shame to have them packed away.

libertychick · 30/03/2015 14:28

dry I am sharing your technology misery. I downloaded an app for yahoo mail and now my phone is alerting me every time an email comes in and I don't want that as I use the yahoo acc for all my shopping so I don't want notifications all day and all night of the latest Gap discount etc. If I turn off phone alerts then I don't get alerts about work emails which I do need - so, so annoying. I tried to delete the app but hasn't worked.

libertychick · 30/03/2015 14:30

Wow Ellis soloist at the royal ballet is a fantastic achievement.

Ellisisland · 30/03/2015 14:57

Thanks liberty it's something to tell the grandkids anyway Smile

Karbea · 30/03/2015 15:03

ellis that's such an achievement! but heartbreaking to have a career stopping injury.

Ootd - sweatshirt, trackies, thick socks, tissues, day nurse.

QueenCardigan · 30/03/2015 15:32

Wow ellis that's amazing. I'll have to come and visit to see the costumes.

QueenCardigan · 30/03/2015 15:38

My new keds arrived today. I love them. So much more comfortable than converse although they only look right with cropped/rolled up jeans. My only concern is that they recommend not to be put in the washing machine and they are v pale.

My other purchase has been the pink bag. Will link when it arrives and I'm about to order some sandals. Dh has been ultra generous lately. He's feeling guilty at the amount of training he's doing for a big cycling trip and he's also been buying lots of cycling clothing so thinks it's fair for me to buy clothes as well. in reality I don't expect anything at all as he rarely buys stuff but I'm not one to knock a gift horse in the mouth Grin

Drywhiteplease · 30/03/2015 16:04
Ellisisland · 30/03/2015 16:24

Haha Dry if I have enough wine at a MU I can show you my pointe party trick Grin

Queen if you are ever Bath area you would be more than welcome. I will get them out and take some photos of them next time I am rummaging around in the loft if you are interested.

karbea I swear by day and night nurse. It's the only thing that ever helps me get over a cold. That and eating a really hot chilli. Hope you fe better soon Flowers

Bought myself some cheap white plimsolls today for running about in. Not very exciting. Have ordered some new j brand skinnes in black as my other pair got a bit wrecked on my days away (covered in mud and whisky and God knows what else)

MarshaBrady · 30/03/2015 16:30

Ellis that is fantastic. I'm so impressed. I only did it when I was little up to age 12 (obvs no where near the same!) but I still get pangs of oh look at that when I see the ballet. I can imagine you really miss it.

The costumes must have been incredible.

QueenCardigan · 30/03/2015 18:45

ellis I'm in Bristol. That's why I mentioned it Wink.

Drywhiteplease · 30/03/2015 19:03

Ellis we need to synch our MUs.......I need to see the trick Grin and costumes too

Drywhiteplease · 30/03/2015 19:04

Ooooooh Ellis is it like Kate Winslet's in Titanic? We're you her body double for that?

muddlingalongquitenicely · 30/03/2015 19:39

hi everyone been missing in action for a bit (real life got crazy and DH went away for 3 weeks with work and i was knackered with travelling and running the house and then had flu big time)

so today i had my colours done and was very surprised at the difference the right colours made to my face.

I am a deep summer, my problem is the lipstick I love the colour she suggested to me for the pink plum but the texture made my lips feel dry so does anyone know an alternative to number 3 plum?

Ellisisland · 30/03/2015 19:43

Haha dry no sadly I was not required and never got close to Leo. My trick is doing shots whilst on one leg on pointe. It was an after show challenge and one I was quite good at Grin

queen ah didn't realise you were that close. Next MU needs to be our way then. Maybe the next time English National come through we could have a meet ? I get free tickets thanks to friends that still dance so we could have a ballet themed night if anyone was interested ?

Marsha the costumes were gorgeous. You don't usually get to keep them but I was given a few of mine that had to be specially made for me as a parting gift when I left the company.

santamarianovella · 30/03/2015 20:20

Wow ellis, that's impressive.

karbea hope you feel better soon, btw, MIH has nice white jeans, in their Paris style, I can't link,as the website keeps closing,

queen those are really nice,

We have no plans for Easter, my mum is visiting tomorrow, and staying a couple of days with us,

We watched the imitation game last night, and was absolutely in awe of Benedict cumberbatch,I need to watch it again, some of the mathematic stuff made me all Confused ,

QueenCardigan · 30/03/2015 20:41

muddling deep summer sounds fab. Post on the summer thread and they may be able to help. othetwise cranagh is a summer so may have an idea.
ellis a meet up our way woukd be great but you'll never drag the Londoners out of London Grin. If we did I'd happily put people up.... I've never been to the ballet and not convinced that I'd enjoy understand it so would lve to experience it without paying a fortune Smile.

shopafrolic · 30/03/2015 20:51

You can drag me out of London QueenC just not quite as far as Bristol (unless I'm on holiday that way) :)

OP posts:
LinusDKD · 30/03/2015 20:57

Evening!

ellis that is impressive! I did ballet as well as a child but only until the ballet teacher slapped me for doing something naughty and then threatening me not to tell my parents. Shock

My DM had to drag it out of me after I was being uncharacteristically quiet and then she decided I couldn't go to ballet class anymore.

santa we watched The Imitation Game last week and loved it.

And this weekend we watched the new Hunger Games film. Pure escapism but every time I saw Philip Seymour Hofmann I couldn't help but think 'what a waste' Sad

Love Julianne Moore, she is utterly beautiful and a great actress.

shop I have started packing as well. Urgh, I hate packing.
