Have been studying all day again - the high life!

Just ordered some Uniqlo bits and pieces sleeveless silk shirt, top and silk t-shirt. Also ordered leopard print shoes from Hobbs.

Dry great outfit. I think I'll look for a camel coat next winter, you have had such good wear out of yours.

Karbea that MK jacket is lovely. I think bikers look best worn open.

libertychick · 28/02/2015 21:21

Funny you should link that Shop. I am planning a big tidy up tomorrow, my wardrobe is still full of all my 'winter' stuff and I can't see what I have properly at all. Am going to bag up into the 'ebay bag' (for whenever I get my act together and set myself up on ebay), a charity shop bag and rubbish.

Karbea · 28/02/2015 21:34

37 isn't very much.

AmberNectarine · 01/03/2015 01:22

37 items is ridiculous.

dry I wore this top out with my leather leggings tonight and I looked great Zara

Had such a lovely time - went to see 50 shades with DH today, then dinner, drinks and a club, now staying in a lovely hotel. I couldn't ask for more, he's such a great guy

LinusDKD · 01/03/2015 09:12

Morning!

Sounds like a great night out amber!

I am sooo jealous of your Uniqlo shopping trip lib! I would be in there the whole time if we had one near us.

shop I thought of you when I saw that NaP has started selling a small selection of Madewell.

I really like this but I'm not sure the colour would suit me. Maybe more for dry?

It really reminds me of those Madewell tops we got on Shopbop last summer. Can't wait to wear those again.

karbea that is such a thoughtful present from your DH! Perfect for your new style diagnosis.

I'm still in my pj's, need to get dressed but the dreary weather really is not inspiring me.

LinusDKD · 01/03/2015 09:17

Oh and one DH downloaded a sleep app a couple of days ago as he has been waking up really early these last few weeks and then can't fall back asleep again.

It monitors your sleep and tells you afterwards when you were in a deep sleep, awake, REM sleep etc and the overall quality of your sleep.

Surprisingly, even though he wakes up so early, his overall sleep quality is good.

It's a free app called Sleep Time and maybe it might be worth using it to see how much and how well/badly you actually sleep.

OneLittleLady · 01/03/2015 09:49

I'll take a look at that app, thanks Linus

Drywhiteplease · 01/03/2015 10:28

linus I really love that top! adore that colour ....agree about last year's, I bought the black and really enjoyed wearing it.

Karbea · 01/03/2015 10:41

That top is really pretty, I was wondering if I could get away with the white won't be white after I've washed it a few times

Does anyone know anything about measuring windows for curtains?

BrandyAlexander · 01/03/2015 10:51

Hello all! Can't even begin to describe the craziness that is this past week!

Dry, I am just stroking your head on the therapists couch..... I find it helpful to think that if I bought all the stuff that I like, combined with the fact that I hate getting rid of stuff, I would grow out of my dressing room (okay, the second one, as I have already grown out of firstBlush). That tends to curb my impulse buying. Do you want your lovely dressing room to be overrun? I liked the Wallis top (on other people, my torso too short for it!) but keep reminding yourself you will be overrun by stuff you don't love if you impulse buy!

Karbea · 01/03/2015 11:21

Haha! That is such a middle class problem novice.

I'm too scared to order my curtains. I've had two different companies come and measure and they are different and I've measured again and they are different we are talking mm's here I need to man up and hit buy! Double pleat is best for a lounge, yes? I've already double checked this with my mum and it's what the two ladies advised...

libertychick · 01/03/2015 11:24

That Madewell top is really lovely, why don't more shops do simple, timeless items like that in decent fabrics? Unfortunately I can't do either the red or the white Sad

Karbea I haven't a clue about measuring for curtains? Have you tried asking in the home decorating section in MN = it's here. I suspect the posters there would be much more knowledgeable on that stuff than the shoe and bag obsessives here Smile

Amber your night out sounds fantastic - what did you think of '50 shades'?

So today, I need to finish the first draft of my assignment and sort out my wardrobe must stay off MN

OneLittleLady · 01/03/2015 11:26

Poor OneCat, she's been at the vets this mornign as she's been pulling out her fur and overgrooming. They said it's stress and it all centres around my stupid, selfish direct neighbour getting a new cat 12 weeks ago. Poor OneCat has got to have preventative antibiotics and i have to put steroid cream on her lesions every day. I'm so upset that my stupid neighbour has caused this after he just decided to get a new, male cat after his elderly cat died. He didn't even ask me what I thought and if MY cat would be okay with it or anything. So upset, poor OneCat looks half bald Sad when i got Onecat, I made sure my neighbour was okay with it, talked to him about if male or female would be better with him having his own female cat etc

OneLittleLady · 01/03/2015 11:27

as in, he had a female cat when I got Onecat. his new cat is male and that just adds to OneCats stress

Karbea · 01/03/2015 11:31

one I assume they gave you some feliway? Also this might not be helpful but it might get better (assuming it's a kitten?) when the cat next door is adult because your cat will assume that if there is a kitten there must be an adult mum somewhere and because she's not seen it she's freaking out where it might be. My male cat left home and moved in with two small dogs and two small children when I got my kitten so I researched this sort of cat stress a lot, once my kitten got bigger and older my other cat calmed down and moved back home.

lib sorry, will stop boring you with curtain woes ;)

Karbea · 01/03/2015 11:32

I'd imagine your cat would be happier with a male, no?

OneLittleLady · 01/03/2015 11:56

karbea OneCat is female and quite timid and nervous in disposition. Next doors cat is male and under a year old. Yeah, they said get feliway to try and see if it helps her so i've got some being delivered next week and i've got to take OneCat back to the vets tomorrow for an antibiotic shot as there's no way I can get a ten day course of tablets down her effectively as she hates being held and will fight and fight so they said go for the shot

libertychick · 01/03/2015 12:25

Linus I am going to blame you for costing me study time this morning Wink

I had to go look at Madewell on NaP and that led to looking at APC stuff and that led me to Tory Burch (obviously eh Grin)

So here are my Sunday morning links (since QueenC is failing in her Sunday morning links duties)

Great denim skirt Have you taken the labels off the Toast one QueenQueenie?

Love this silk shirt Very romantic classic I think with the print and the small ruffle

Gorgeous classic navy coat - love the Peter Pan collar

I really LOVE this bag. I don't usually like the idea of a backpack as a day bag but something about this one is really calling me.

ADORE this Tory Burch dress Hmmmmm can I justify the £££?

Fabulous!!

libertychick · 01/03/2015 12:27
  • go forth my lovelies and find pretty things to gladden my heart during study breaks...
LinusDKD · 01/03/2015 12:43

lib if they had this jacket in another colour I would buy it immediately.

I would get rid of the belt they have inserted and would belt it up with a leather belt à la Emmanuelle Alt.

LinusDKD · 01/03/2015 12:54

This would be perfect to wear with your pleather leggings dry

Sorry, no link as &#%*$ Ipad won't let me paste the link.

Such a shame Madewell don't ship to Europe (and I checked, Shopbop doesn't have it either)

Get your act together Madewell!

MN Vogue vol 54
LinusDKD · 01/03/2015 13:03

Poor onecat!

Forgive me for being ignorant but I never heard that it's better to ask your neighbours before you get a new cat.

We always had cats (well, only one at a time) at home when I was a child and when it died or 'dissapeared' my parents just got another one after a while after us children nagged them when we got over our sadness

We always had lots of strays in our garden as well but they never came all the way to our back door as our cats were always very territorial and went ballistic when they saw another cat.

Drywhiteplease · 01/03/2015 13:35

Wish my neighbours had asked me....my garden seems to be the neighbourhood cat loo Grin in the summer I'm like Rambo with the pump action water gun. We need a big dog!!!!!

linus you're on a roll. Love that too....you know I adore all shades of teal.

liberty I'd wear all of your links. The navy coat is lovely.

I agree, good quality basics in natural fibres.....someone set up that company.

Novice all the impulse H and M stuff has gone back polishes halo I'm back on track.

Leather skinnies appear to make middle aged men a bit per cultivar, had a fab evening but a bit rude Shock Grin

Drywhiteplease · 01/03/2015 13:41

it's beautiful

libertychick · 01/03/2015 13:51

Me, me, me for that teal top too. Gorgeous. Can we start a petition to get Madewell here?

dry I have said this before but you and my DH would get on so well. He has well and truely established that the liberty back garden is not a safe place for cats with his accurate use of the garden hose!

one sounds horrible for poor onecat and it was very considerate of you to chat to your neighbour before getting your cat. But I wouldn't discuss getting a new pet with my neighbours and I wouldn't expect them to consult me. Hopefully both cats will get used to each other and work out their respective territories. It's a bit like the process the DC go through on play dates! Sometimes difficult to watch but ultimately they have to work it out for themselves.
