dry that's really nice, take all the polyester, too big, too small stuff back and get the spots!

MarshaBrady · 27/02/2015 19:43

Absolutely!

QueenCardigan · 27/02/2015 20:03

I really like natural calico. We had timeless in our old house and I found it too white.
dry if you like it keep it. Nothing wrong with a bit of poly now and then. Or a bit of Wallis or h&m.
karbea difficult one about the dog walking. I kind of think that when you need to be practical style doesn't hugely come into it. You just need footwear and a coat that will do the job. Maybe in summer you can dress more stylishly but winter is about being warm and dry. And don't worry about when you're 60. Who knows what trends will be around then and what we'll all be wearing.

Apologies for any typos. I'm on my mobile on a train.

Karbea · 27/02/2015 20:09

What colour do you think is good in dulux for the ceiling and woodwork? Do you think brilliant white is fine? I'm probably panicking over nothing. It just looks so bright compared to pointing.

Karbea · 27/02/2015 20:13

queen the lady said you should spend most of your time/effort/budget on what you do the most. Mostly I'm at home, walking dogs, tidying up, running to do chores. So I want to look stylish doing that, or am I crazy, should if just get some good quality blue jeans, good brown flat boots, some autumn colour jumpers, a autumn coloured warm coat. (In correct shape for ingenue). And not worry about style but focus on practical...
I really hoped I'd get an identity after yesterday, but maybe I was just hoping for something unrealistic...

Karbea · 27/02/2015 20:18

I really like this Rolex.

QueenCardigan · 27/02/2015 20:25

Apart from the dining room we have brilliant white on all woodwork etc: I don't think it looks too bad.
I completely understand the wanting to look good thing when walking dogs. I'm the same with school run as that's what I msinly do and in winter all people see is your coat. My Barbour that I msinly wear probably wouldn't for the IN profile but I'm not sure many things would. But it's navy and its vaguely stylish and its warm. Will have a better think for you when not on a swervy train as can hardly type!

Karbea · 27/02/2015 20:33

I'm starting to think maybe it's the satin wood I don't like, it looks practically gloss to me. I think I should get him to do eggshell.

queen I have a very nice khaki puffa that is totally fine for the rest of this winter and probably next. It's fine for dog walking, but it's not right for me as it's got a big collar. Anyway, I'm not going to stress too much about it. But I think I, just going to dress for what I do. So today I was perfectly dressed for dog walking and volunteering (sitting on floor with little children), but not stylish really, but I can see how it could look a bit better... Boots, coat.

Drywhiteplease · 27/02/2015 20:57

OMG Shop has just staged an INTERVENTION! can you tell I've been watching a lot of American dramas on Netflix? and facetimed me before her night out damn, I had to apply lipstick sneakilyGrin.....ok, only the Wallis top remains........

LinusDKD · 27/02/2015 21:00

I'll take a plane to the UK and come to your house if that makes you return that poly Wallis top dry

libertychick · 27/02/2015 21:12

Good call shop Smile. I think the Wallis top is OK. I saw that blue jigsaw top and the matching skirt the other day and they are gorgeous.

Have just painted my nails! Am determined to learn how to do them nicely myself. Have started easy with a nude colour.

karbea I get wanting to look nice day to day. Can't advise on paint unfortunately.

justasecond · 27/02/2015 21:13

Karbea I have brill white woodwork and ceilings but then my house is 1950's so fairly modern. I also have natural calico in my open plan kitchen/living area. I really like it and don't find it yellow at all. It just has a bit of warmth which I prefer. Jasmine white also good. I would defo go for eggshell rather than satinwood which is a bit too shiny for me. If a decorator is doing it hopefully he will be using the dulux trade eggshell version rather than the off the shelf stuff which is awful.
Dry The spotty silk shirt is lovely. I must admit I am not keen on the wallis top but I am sure it looks good on you. I can cope with a bit of poly as long as I can wear something cotton under so there is a layer between me and sweatsville Grin

libertychick · 27/02/2015 21:35

Justa lots of Rich and Skinny jeans in TK Maxx today.(you like them I think?)

justasecond · 27/02/2015 21:40

ooh thanks Lib yes I do like them have them on at the moment in fact! I actually went to my local tk today but they didn't have any decent jeans. Will try to get to a larger one at the weekend.

Drywhiteplease · 27/02/2015 21:52

Grin Linus....... MNV intervention, I do love you lot Smile . Have calmed down and returned to normal. DSis did point out that static is an issue, and I do remember that I had to flatten my hair after each try on session Grin ..........natural fibres, natural fibres, natural fibres.........

shopafrolic · 28/02/2015 00:20

Waves to all. Night out with school mums. Lots of vodka and some good new friends. Had to have FaceTime words with Dry to avoid a MNV crisis Grin

Today I'm wearing a short sleeved silk animal print top (I need to put a cardi on! But don't really have one...), dark blue jeans, my H belt which is tan but the H is silver.. And I'm wearing an oversized ethnic necklace, the hoc lady said ethnic would be good, but I think this is too big, I've not worn it for years and years but thought I'd try it, but it looks to big. I do have an old slightly smaller shell necklace which is similar so I might try that. I've also got my stainless and chocolate watch on, which looks wrong too... Today is a bad, bad accessories day!
Waiting for dh to get home, he's at T5 so nearly here, but he tells me he has conf calls today #workwidow!!!
The white woodwork still looks shiny and white!! Argh!!!! Think it's worse because of the ceiling, I might overpaint it at some point.
Think I'm going to go chalky downs5 and maybe white cotton on the ceiling and wood (eggshell) in the living room... Oh the stress haha!!!

Fedupnagging · 28/02/2015 09:11

Grin at Shops emergency FaceTime call last night!

Dry the wallis top is the only one I really like and it would definitely suit you but you may crackle as you walk! Love the jigsaw silk top though - maybe take it all back and get the silk top.

In defence of Wallis though, I have a cheesecloth/linen white shirt from there and it is so lovely to wear.

So, I did wear skinnies last night, with a black silk shirt and desert boots. Also accessorised with a large silver dragonfly necklace. Today is miserable so will be skinnies and j crew sweatshirt with a large scarf.

Karbea if you don't like your accessories, take them off and put on something you do like - you will feel much happier about your outfit then.

Drywhiteplease · 28/02/2015 09:16

Painting nails No7 Neptune (blue/grey bit grungy) for tonight. Lots of coffee, rubbish night sleep DH stumbled in at 1.45.
Funny day yesterday. Don't think I have ever returned so many items in one go !!!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 28/02/2015 10:01

I think it's for the best Dry, I usually regret it after I buy too many cheap things at once (though love h&m for vests and random nice tops)

Karbea it's a minefield with the silver vs gold accessories... The reason I still don't own a gold watch! can't afford the real thing

So I went out last night. Was a bit touch and go, but I didn't drink too much (or any bubbles) or eat anything too rich. I went to bed at 4am Blush and got up at 8. Am I ready to handle shopping with my mother?!?!

I do feel better though, stomach is back to being flat this morning and I'm down to my lowest weight since I was doing 5:2 Grin I can see why you like the Colpermin One, it's worked wonders.

Have a great Saturday all.

BrandyAlexander · 28/02/2015 10:12

The intervention is so funny.Grin

Dry why do you think you bought so many things?

Karbea don't forget that the style day is meant to guide you but don't be a slave to it.Thanks

shopafrolic · 28/02/2015 10:29

www.mytheresa.com/en-gb/ralf-suede-ankle-boots-374242.html?utm_source=Display&utm_medium=Retargeting&utm_campaign=en_criteo_01_gb

Hi all, could anyone help me out pls? I'm looking for flat, suede, pale coloured ankle boots with a bit of a casual boho vibe as per Isabel Marant link above. Her boots, at £360, are a bit too expensive for me. Has anyone come across similar anywhere, maybe up to the £200 mark. Thanks

Karbea · 28/02/2015 12:06

Or these?
