maradesbois · 12/02/2015 21:05

Wow lib productive day on the shopping front. Some great looking stuff there, I love the navy skirt going to try it on and jacket will be great for spring and for work.

Shop I think flares would work well with pointy toes on you, E Alt style. Have a great night.

QueenC don't sweat it, sounds like you needed the sugar fix. Yay to a month to go until mu, need to book my ticket.

maradesbois · 12/02/2015 21:12

Ujjayi trying to pack light for a weekend away a little while ago I brought only one pair of shoes, tod's heeled boots from Bicester outlet that were box fresh. Big mistake. Too tight over the arch, feet were in agony already on first night and had to wear them all weekend day and night. Middle of nowhere, loads of cobbled streets and no shops with cheap ballet flats to be found. Never again will I listen to dh insisting on hand luggage only!

QueenCardigan · 12/02/2015 21:15

Hmm ujayyi trying to think of a fashion faux pas....there definitely must be one at least in the past 10 years. The worst one was years ago as a young nurse (so therefore used to wearing uniform rather than office clothes) and I went on a day away with a pharmaceutical company to learn about a clinical trial. I treated in as a study day ie I wore jeans. Big mistake. Everyone else was suited and booted. I sat there feeling so uncomfortable all day.

maradesbois · 12/02/2015 21:19

to Betty. Am just settling down to watch Spiral double bill from last week, loving this series.

bettykt · 12/02/2015 21:32

It's a good one isn't it? Obviously I won't give the game away Grin I caught up last night on last weekend's double bill. There's a Spiral thread on Telly Addicts which I'll only read once I've caught up, as they talk about the plot.

justasecond · 12/02/2015 21:37

Great shopping LibThey are all great but I love the yellow cardi and Zara jacket especially.

Karbea. Love the leather leggings and your shopping haul. I think black boots will be fine with the leggings.
Mara gorgeous scarf, it looks so luxurious.
Shop I tried my flares with my petty boots and a burgundy polo neck I thought it looked good. The full on 70s look with the wedges and platforms does not appeal to me at all. I see what you mean about pointy boots being a bit 00s although could look ok too (unhelpful)
Queenc You are not alone I have stuffed myself with sugar this eve too . I am not sure what is going on with my cycle atm it seems to be less than 3 weeks and I start spotting after 2 weeks. it is not helping my aneamia (sp) either.
Dry which animal print shoes did you get?

libertychick · 12/02/2015 23:11

Had a big try on tonight and I think all today's purchases are keepers. I am now debating returning the Vince shirt Shock. I do love it but so far it only seems to work with black! And I am wondering if the money would be better spent on shoes....decisions, decisions.

Ujjayi I had a similar fashion faux pas to you. I wore a strapless maxi to my brother's wedding and kept standing on the hem all day Blush. Another frequent faux pax is wearing a sweater to work with something like a white vest top and a coloured bra and then being in a v hot office and not able to take the sweater off.

Fedup I tried the orange sweater you linked for me in Jigsaw today. Was lovely. On my wishlist now.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 13/02/2015 00:23

On last train, thankfully it's a mild and dry night as I'll be walking from the station at 1 or so. So glad tomorrow is Friday. Dermatologist went well and so did non-date Wink

Will catch up properly tomorrow but I'm so impressed with Lib's haul!

Night all x

Karbea · 13/02/2015 07:09

lib do you think the Vince shirt is actually the right shade to be an autumn colour then? I ask this because I've noticed that if i hold my new clothes together the colours all look good together, in fact whilst I was out the other day there was a red/orange top I wasn't sure was the correct colour, I held it against something khaki and it was so obviously wrong, tried a slightly different shade and it looked good against the khaki.... Just a thought...

QueenCardigan · 13/02/2015 07:24

Morning Smile. The hormonal fog has lifted and the usual queen returns.

lib I think karbea is right. I can usually tell if something is right by holding it against all the colours in the swatch and seeing if it tones in.

Drywhiteplease · 13/02/2015 08:00

justa these not entirely convinced they will be perfect, the print looks a but big, but worth a try.

Today's outfit is more "me" that "meh" Smile
Gap berry coloured skinny chinos waist is now HUGE!!
Black Pettys
Grey Uniqlo merino boxy round neck sweater over l/s white t
My favourite, favourite worn to my first MU Paul Smith scarf in greys, purples etc.

Gargling with TCP is disgusting but miraculous, sore throat completely gone, would highly recommend.

Have a Good Friday all x

shopafrolic · 13/02/2015 08:02

Morning all - cheap Sauvignon and curry makes Shop an unhappy girl this morning.
Good night last night getting to know some of the school mummies a bit better - nice bunch.
I had a last minute change of top as the GAP sweater wasn't slouchy enough with the leathers so wore my trusty J Crew grey tee and this necklace

Just tried on my haul:
I'm keeping the slightly darker N. Pearl cashmere jumper, it's been ages since I've tried on any new cashmere, so lovely, I'd forgotten how nice it is.
The bikini fits so lovely, I wouldn't normally chose that colour, but it does look nice and I'm thinking it'll go really well with any cover ups I buy later in the season.
The khaki tracksuits bots are lovely I'm a slob

Going back is the brown MKs dress, brown really does look good on me, but the dress is too big and really not something I'd wear nowadays. I'm unsure about the red dress it might stay, might try it again later.
The ivory dress, really is nice, but it doesn't fit my body shape. I was really in two minds but I think I need to be strict with myself.
The RI top arrived, I don't think it's the same colour as the one I tried in the shop, but it's browner which I think is actually better.

BrandyAlexander · 13/02/2015 09:19

Ugh. Morning everyone

Novice tip of the day: If you're meeting the board of a ftse company to pitch for £m of work, don't go out partying, drinking red wine and cocktails and roll in at 3am.Hmm

I want my bed.

QueenCardigan · 13/02/2015 09:47

Ouch novice. I'm not sure whether to Grin or be nice and offer [tea] and Flowers.

lib I had a look at your wardrobe board (it looks fab btw-all the colours really go) and I'm thinking the Vincent shirt may be a touch too cool for you hence why it goes with black rather than the rest of your stuff. Maybe it's more of a summer colour.

QueenCardigan · 13/02/2015 10:15

WIT has got the shoes I love.

Can you tell that I'm trying to avoid packing? Grin

libertychick · 13/02/2015 11:02

They are lovely flats QueenC.

Decision made, with much inner wailing I have hit the return button on the Vince shirt Sad. The colour is ok, I have checked against the swatches several times but having done a lot of trying on I have realised that it's designed for a much taller person than me! It's tunic length rather than regular shirt length so I can't wear with navy trousers etc as there is too much material to tuck in and it looks messy. It also needs a lot of adjusting to look ok tucked into a pencil skirt. And the sleeves are very long so I have to roll them up which also limits how I wear it.

I really need to watch this with expensive clothes. I get taken in with the brand and the thrill of getting something reduced on Outnet etc and then overlook niggles with it because I want it to be perfect. With cheaper stuff I am way more picky. Thankfully I hadn't removed labels!

[tea] and sympathy for Shop and Novice - but hey, you had fun at the time Smile. Good luck with the pitch today Novice.

libertychick · 13/02/2015 11:09

Blair I forgot to thank you for the link to the Wang sweater dress, gorgeous and a great colour but too short for me!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 13/02/2015 11:28

A good decision Lib. I suppose it's also easier to return things when you've bought so much you know you can't keep it all Wink Grin I'm loving seeing all the updates to yours and Karbea's autumn wardrobes!

I feel rough today too, sympathies novice. Luckily it's quiet in the office.

QueenC just looked at WIT and my first thought was that her black Aquazzura flats are very similar to the IM ones Confused but she can obv afford both. I love the ones that Amber pinned earlier, but I know I should be good as they would cut my leg off at the ankle.

Also on WIT... I enjoy reading her Wardrobe Icons magazine thingy, but my God she needs a proofreader. If she happens to see this, I am offering my services Grin

libertychick · 13/02/2015 11:39

That is very true Blair especially when there are 7 skirts en route as well Wink

WhattoWearNow · 13/02/2015 16:28

Loving all the shopping! I haven't bought anything though I really want some Stan Smiths. Though they look like boats on me (they seem to come up small so I have to size up) & I am v vertically challenged so usually wear a heel of sorts. I just love them with a (p)leather legging but I think it's just not meant to be unless I want to look like a golf club....
I also really want to break out the flares as I love this but it is all really high end & the blogger didn't like it after all & is selling hers!! I also like them with pointy boots (not sure who was considering this) here
I have also found my dream coat - less than half price here & only available in the US - aaarrgggghhhhh!!
One I use this when I have periods of sleeplessness. It really helps. Anemia can also cause insomnia - I had no idea.

shopafrolic · 13/02/2015 16:33

what shade of grey are you wearing today ladies?

OP posts:
Karbea · 13/02/2015 16:44

Cindy Crawford, thoughts...

OneLittleLady · 13/02/2015 16:45

Whatto I do have anemia so that could be contributing, will have to check with my gp.

No grey for me today, wearing my cobalt blue and white spotted jumper dress with black tights and batman slippers --so stylish you know-
