Happy Valentines to all Smile. Youngest DS smothered me with kisses & cuddles this morning - a delicious way to start the day. At 10yo he is flitting between cuddles & independence so I make the most of it!

Karbea: Gucci dress is divine & I think it could work with opaques as long as the heels are high & thin. Have a lovely evening Smile.

Thanks for feedback on boots. Will have a try on in a bit. Am also going to wear my IM Debra jacket & a large scarf for an insouciant (sp?) Parisienne look. DH thinks it is hideously 80s but I know my v stylish friend will appreciate it Wink

Speaking of "D"H...we are not speaking so that's a great start to V Day Hmm. He wrote something on an FB page yesterday about some supposed event in the past which indicated me as a bunny boiler & him as "slap me on the back fellas, I'm such a bloke". He made it up in order to make a joke & can't see why I'm upset...hmm, perhaps because all our friends & colleagues have read it? He isn't one of the asshole "little lady at home" types so I can't understand it. Need to take some deep breaths & get over it I guess. I just find it incredibly disloyal.

Sorry. Depressing rant over!!

Drywhiteplease · 14/02/2015 09:31

Ok......so far we've had fox hunting, the crazy prices of modern day property, numerous funerals........Im waiting for immigration. Will escape to gym for a break and pick up various shoe orders on the way home.

And I can't find the fish knives Shock we are having trout tonight Voguettes and they love a fish knife.....I BET you all they will mention the lack of.....will report back at approx 7.30 for fish knife gate update.

maradesbois · 14/02/2015 09:35

Happy Valentines Day!

QueenC well said, all pretty damn fine indeed Smile.

Sleep good luck for today, hope all goes to plan second time and you have a brilliant holiday.

Marsha the egg thing made me sit up, thought it was ok to eat lots ie cholesterol but the good kind?

Am not dressed yet but it's grey outside and not feeling inspired by my wardrobe. Would like to try some off-white boyfriend jeans to wear from now through to spring but haven't found the right ones yet, everything has rips and don't do rips.

Ujjayi outfit sounds good. I was just thinking the other day am glad I didn't get rid of my tall boots from a few years back.

shopafrolic · 14/02/2015 09:36

Perhaps your MIL hid them Dry in fear of her life? Grin
Ujjayi I wear my new flat LKB boots a lot and get compliments when I do. I like them for that Sunday lunch by a roaring pub fire type of day. I have to ask as it wasn't on your list - do you love your tummy now?
FB is a PITA for stuff like that - particularly as people like to reminisce so much and I, for one, was a VERY different person back then.
Marsha love a bit of brain fluff me - YY to whole too.
In terms of what I will be wearing tonight... probably PJs. Not a whole world of romance going on in the Shop house. DH is asleep, I have a stinking cold and DS is still coughing loads. For those of you being treated to fab dinners - have a wonderful time.

Haha Dry, it's when it turns to immigration I feel like reaching for the fish knives too Grin.

In tonight too Shop, dh is going out to buy seafood & champagne in fridge but for the moment we're happy enough lolling about in dressing gowns drinking coffee

MarshaBrady · 14/02/2015 09:50

Ujj that's funny about the pre-med. How annoying re your dh on fb, sounds like he did an out of character post, annoying that it's on there for all to see. I'd not be happy either. Hope he is extra nice to you to make up for it!

Sleep safe travels.

Karbea wow love that dress.

Mara I'm not sure if it's that. But I was eating too many, I still have them every day now, but just not as many. I have high good cholesterol too, the guy testing was impressed. So I think the balance now is ok, don't cut out the eggs I would say.

Shop I love flat boots. Bet they look ace.

Novice hope you had a lovely night.

Pin makes me nervous, I had to set up marsha accounts for all this stuff and I fear not remembering how to get back into them to restart things.

LinusDKD · 14/02/2015 09:55

Here you are!

Quickly popping in to mark my place. I probably won't be able to catch up but I will try to follow the conversation from now on.

Nothing special happening tonight in the linus household as DH and I have never celebrated valentine's day. And we're all still feeling a bit fragile after a horrible bout of flu so the thought of rich food and alcohol is making my tummy turn.

The only upside is that I've lost about two kg Wink

MarshaBrady · 14/02/2015 09:56

Linus silver lining Wink hope you are 100% soon.

Oh and tonight, we are here, but out on Monday night. Just to mix things up.

Drywhiteplease · 14/02/2015 09:57

Grin Shop and mara!!
marsha I missed the egg thing. I eat lots. Should I be worried?

MarshaBrady · 14/02/2015 09:57

No no, don't be worried. I still eat loads.

MarshaBrady · 14/02/2015 09:58

I think ages ago I was stressing about mine being high. I thought I'd update, as I know it's riveting Wink. But everyone keep on the eggs. They are good for you.

Ujjayi · 14/02/2015 10:01

Dry you have all my sympathy...but your tale did just make me feel a bit better about my household today Grin. No fish knives or immigration ishoos here Wink.

I am so jealous of seafood eaters. It seems to me like a very decadent food to eat - I have memories of the Fruits de Mer piled high on ice on the deck of Pont de la Tour (ah '98/99...my years of London freedom Wink) but being severely allergic means I had to pass & watch enviously as friends tucked in to succulent lobster etc.

I quite fancy getting dressed for dinner this eve despite just being at home. DH can cook something delicious & I will flit about with a glass of champagne...sounds like the way he can redeem himself Wink

libertychick · 14/02/2015 10:04

How annoying ujjayi. I think even the most sensible people can feel the need to make things up and say things to be 'one of the gang' online.

Great dress karbea. Hope you have a lovely time.

Marsha I don't understand the science of it but increasing your activity levels does lower cholesterol so it is probably a combination of the two changes. Well done Smile

A day of study awaits me....

maradesbois · 14/02/2015 10:09

Ujjayi sounds good re the wafting about dressed for dinner sipping champ while a sheepish dh redeems himself in the kitchen!

libertychick · 14/02/2015 10:09

Much sympathy dry. Maybe a good thing if you can't find the fish knives, will keep them off immigration etc. Maybe go a step further and serve wine in water glasses, put forks on the right... Keep them on edge for the next 4 days wondering what the next domestic faux pas will be Grin

OneLittleLady · 14/02/2015 10:09

morning all

another mostly sleepless night in the One household. still, it's reading week next week so even though I have to go in a couple of days to do some work, i do have some time to relax. Just hope i can break the insomnia cycle soon

Dry deep breaths! make an excuse to nip out for an hour and leave IL's with DH, go for a coffee or something and just breathe!

Ujjayi · 14/02/2015 10:12

Shop - yes I love my tummy now. Tbh, I never stopped but those 2 handfuls of loose skin didn't feel like mine.

Marsha - the pre med thing was hilarious. I was totally & utterly off my face Grin & giggling like a loon. I had to walk to theatre & I can't imagine what nonsense I was spouting! Edina/Eddie is my nickname so I wore it well that day.

QueenCardigan · 14/02/2015 10:13

No love in the cardigan household. We're busy packing for a 4 hour trip to the inlaws. Not looking forward to it at all. May drink lots of wine tonight to cope.

Wearing jeans and vero moda navy jumper with the crochet sleeves with heatech underneath. It seems cold again today. Expecting it to be even colder up north.

Karbea · 14/02/2015 10:16

Ok the Gucci dress wins as long as it can get on with my tights and shoes ;)

Ujjayi · 14/02/2015 10:20

Linus - hope you feel stronger soon. Flu can take a while to recover from. Floradix is excellent for building you up again.

Marsha - well done on the cholestrol reduction. I eat lots of eggs too but feel like they are a good energy source as I work out most days. I'm inspired to get checked now.

One - maybe massage or essential oils would help? I don't know about your physical condition but it is clear you suffer with pain regularly. You probably know this but The pain cycle fills the body with tension & learning to relax the muscles can help significantly not only with pain management but also with sleep & psychological relaxation (I used to run pain management clinics for chronic conditions in my pre DC career).

OneLittleLady · 14/02/2015 10:25

Ujjayi I have complex regional pain syndrome, if you have ever dealt with that before? I only used to have it one arm but in the last 18 months, it's spread through most of my body and now I can't walk without crutches. I used to be heavily into essential oils but I don't know if the use of them is advised with how much medication I take?

Ujjayi · 14/02/2015 10:27

Haven't worked with that before. Let me do some research over the weekend & I will PM you early next week.

OneLittleLady · 14/02/2015 10:36

Thanks ujjayi Thanks

Up and dressed now in purple denim pencil skirt, grey jurassic park tee and black boyfriend cardigan. Dsis is coming round a little later with her children so must go toddler proof the front room shortly

GeorginaWorsley · 14/02/2015 10:44

We doing Marks and Spencer 'dine in for £20' tonight as DH working in A&E all day and we have no babysitter for DC4 as only teen left at home is away on a school trip.
Grin

Ujjayi · 14/02/2015 10:55

Georgina - v inconsiderate of teen to be away when you are in need of a sitter Grin. Do you mind me asking at what age you left older DCs in charge? I keep wondering if I could dare do it now but fearful of strops kicking off whilst I am out.
