blair
ThanyouSmile
DD very stressed as you can imagine Wink
She has micro managed everything so far and unfortunately has concentrated on less important details,in my eyes anyway, so now is delegating furiously!
Things not helped by fact that she 12 weeks pregnant so has been feeling unwell and tired, plus forgetful!
We all walking on eggshells around during her.
Nothing new there thoughWink

justasecond · 19/02/2015 16:44

Love your outfit Georgina very elegant. Hope the day goes well.
shop hope df will be ok. I know how stressful it is when parents have health worries Flowers. Skinny marrakesh look good.
I have had an unsuccessful day with my flares. Wore them today but felt really uncomfortable in them I think because there are too many folks round my way still wearing them from before. Also it started to rain while I was out and I was paranoid about getting soggy hems. They do look flattering but I just felt frumpy in them and changed as soon as I got home Blush Maybe I will sit this trend out.
Hi cranagh welcome back. Love the boots and parka.
Blair hope your dm finds an outfit. Love the LK Bennett printed dress cran linked. Good shape for hourglass.

GeorginaWorsley · 19/02/2015 16:59

just
I like the thought of flares in summer with wedges but I don't usually wear jeans in summer unless weather bad and then flares would be soggyGrin

Fedupnagging · 19/02/2015 17:56

Georgina, that's lovely news - great outfit too, love the colour. I hope you all have a lovely day.

Blair hope your dm finds something suitable soon. I really liked the blue print whistles skirt but dont think the top would be suitable for a mob!

Shop hope all is ok from yesterday Flowers.

The AR order arrived today - the trousers are huge so need to downsize, also, they're about a foot too long. I also ordered a cream blouse which is a bit tight in the bust. Think I need to try on with underwear with slightly less scaffolding!

I am rarely ill but seem to be coming down with something - sore throat, chest, temp etc. - am not impressed especially I have to go out tonight to support dh doing his hobby - not going is not really an option.

LinusDKD · 19/02/2015 19:02

Lovely outfit georgina! I can't imagine my DC getting married as they are still so little.

fedup maybe take a Lemsip before you go out? Hope you feel better soon!

justa I will have a play around tomorrow with the MiH flares as I can't really see an outfit that would work in my mind.

And I'll definitely only wear them when it's not raining as wet trouserlegs are just yuk. Flapping around your legs. Grin

bettykt · 19/02/2015 19:56

Perfect MOB outfit Georgina hope the day goes nice and smoothly.

Oh no Fedup hope you've managed to perk up, is leaving early an option?

Shop hope yesterday's appointment went well.

Wore my Petty's today, haven't worn them for ages, forgotten how nice they were, and nice to wear a low heel. Been looking online at sandals and am kicking myself I didn't buy the lovely ones that Cranagh linked a while back. Sad

AmberNectarine · 19/02/2015 20:03

That's excellent dry I've always said personal shopper is my dream job - I'm excellent at spending other people's money. Also not bad at spending my own, ahem.

Wore my Jamie flares again today with the gazelles, grey cashmere v neck and navy arctic parka for schlepping round London with the kids. They just skim the ground so didn't really get wet and felt slightly more interesting and relevant than skinnies. I'm a convert. They are very tight to the knee though which I think makes all the difference.

GeorginaWorsley · 19/02/2015 20:25

Thank you again for all your kind words Smile
I've got 2 younger daughters so may have more goes at being MOB.

Cranagh · 19/02/2015 20:30

You will look fantastic, Georgina.

Just well they sold out, Shop, I am supposed to be saving for my latest bag of lust. Grin

Amber is indeed an excellent shopper!

My DDs (6 and 3) were prancing around at Christmas wearing my old First Communion veil pretending to be brides, it was funny.

Betty they have them in black on NAP though full price.

Blair, I was having a look at Reiss. Would your mother wear something like [[http://www.asos.com/reiss/reiss-orta-lace-skirt/prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=4955347&sgid=10018&clr=Aloe&SearchQuery=reiss+lace&pgesize=8&pge=1&totalstyles=8&gridsize=3&gridrow=1&gridcolumn=2 this]]?

QueenCardigan · 19/02/2015 20:41

Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. In my drunken state I have managed to fall off my bike Grin. In my defence it is v slippy as it has been raining all day! Luckily the dc don't seem to realise that it may be Sauvignon blanc induced Wink

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 19/02/2015 20:48

You're good at this Cranagh, I've pinned that too, it's lovely! :)

Ouch QueenC hope you're ok?

Anyone watching Eastenders?? Blush I don't usually, DP always has it on, but I've really got into it for the live week!

OneLittleLady · 19/02/2015 20:49

Ouch! Hope you're alright QueenC

very quiet evening here, just watching video tutorials for the software I'm currently learning. In a lot of pain as the damp from all today's rain has made my joints very achy, I always know if its raining or is going to rain as i get the ache in my bones. I'm like a little old lady! Grin

GeorginaWorsley · 19/02/2015 21:26

queenGrin sounds painful.

shopafrolic · 19/02/2015 21:39

Just quickly to say thanks for all the well wishes about my DF. The appointment yesterday went well. He had a biopsy and the results say no cancer which is great. He now needs another biopsy somewhere else though so I'm keeping fingers crossed again.
It's been a strange week. This evening I visited our decorator (and good friend) in hospital who had a stroke 3 months ago age 50. Makes you think how precious life is.
Anyway - just wanted to update as you had all been so kind.
Loved the wet flares flapping story Justa. Like Amber said I think they have to be tight at the knee to look on trend, which is why the skinny Marrakesh worked better I think. I am out for dinner with friends tomorrow evening at that posh hotel again, and am wondering whether to give them their first outing.....
Ouch QueenC
Feel better Fedup
Which bag cranagh?

OneLittleLady · 19/02/2015 21:55

thats good news Shop fingers crossed for further good news. Sad news about your Dfriend though

I'm still not convinced by flares, I just don't think i can pull them off, I'm too short and squat I think!

Ujjayi · 19/02/2015 22:24

Hi everyone. I tried to post 3 times yesterday and lost each message. Weird.

Firstly, Shop thrilled with your news re DF. Fingers crossed for next test.

QueenC - hope your bumps & bruises not too bad.

Blair I think anything with a 50s silhouette is great for a pear shape - i.e. fitted bodice and full skirt. You can keep the skirt more exaggerated A-line which will retain a more modern look rather than retro but will still balance out top & bottom.

Georgina exciting news re DD. Lovely to play such a prominent role in proceedings.

On Flare-Watch....the M&S version are incredibly high waisted even on me and I am very long in the body. They don't flatter me at all. They exaggerate my hips and the flare is quite stiff and sticks out.

The MiH Marrakesh in navy are lovely but still not convinced that they are right for me. They are beautifully soft and cut very flatteringly at the hip/waist, although the pocket lining creates a bit of a bump at front of the hip line. They are so long that I need to reduce them by a good 6 inches. However, I will let the MNV jury decide from the photo I've attached. Please be brutally honest. ...I am waiting for the same jeans in the Sweet Indigo wash to be delivered to try (hopefully tomorrow).

In other shopping news: I chose the Topshop Ecru Selvedge Jeans as my prize from the Instagram comp. Hoping they look good as unlikely that I can return them. I have a similar style in dark indigo from Zara that I wear a lot. Thought this colour would be a good spring shade.

The other item in my Outnet order was These James Perse trousers . These are not good. On the plus side, the fabric is soft. That's it. They are very thin and very unflattering on the bum. They look more H&M than £200+ designer.

MN Vogue vol 54
Ujjayi · 19/02/2015 22:25

Oh and the hems are much longer than they appear - I just roughly turned them up (which is why my grey socks are peeping through the bottom - stylishly rocking the grey sock/leopard print & burgundy suede platform look)

shopafrolic · 19/02/2015 22:28

Ujjayi I will be honest (I am I'm afraid) but they look on you like they looked on me. OK. But just ok. I think you would find the skinny kick flares more flattering. They also don't have the pocket line which I found unflattering too.

OP posts:
Ujjayi · 19/02/2015 22:43

Shop thanks for the honesty. I think you are right. They are nice & feel lovely on but...I wonder if they will feel a bit frumpy after they've been on for while as I think they will stretch at the knee quite quickly. I also think this cut could only be worn with heels. A skinny version would work with flats too I think.

shopafrolic · 19/02/2015 22:51

Mine are going to be heels only wear, I think I'll stick to skinnies or boyfriends with flats. Having seen you look so stunning in other pics I think there will be a more flattering pair out there for you. (I loved the fabric too BTW which is what delayed my decision). Such a good discount too, makes it harder.... Perhaps try some full price skinny Marrakesh to see the difference style wise?

Cranagh · 19/02/2015 22:52

QueenC, One, hope you feel better soon.

Blair, great and will keep looking!

Really good news about your dad, Shop. I've decided I must have this next, I have the bigger version the same one you have in the red but have a wardrobe opening for a small blue bag. We leave London in July so trying to get through my wishlist before we have to start paying for the new house Shock

I think the flares look good, Ujjayi but Shop's sound worth a try. I like the Topshop jeans, well done!

Drywhiteplease · 19/02/2015 22:52

Shop good news about your Df, will keep fingers crossed for follow up Smile worrying time.

Cranagh · 19/02/2015 22:54

You'd definitely need to chop a few inches off to wear them without heels. Skinnies are so much easier but I like the look of flares with heels. Just not so wearable day-to-day with little kids.

QueenCardigan · 20/02/2015 07:28

Morning all. Thanks for the well wishes. I have a very sore knee and a hangover Grin.
cranagh I love it that you have a list to get through. What else is on it?
ujjayi I think you could do better. They don't look hideous but they don't look super flattering either.

shop what shoes will you wear with yours tonight?

GeorginaWorsley · 20/02/2015 07:53

I agree flares look good with heels but aren't really practical everyday wear Imo.
I had a pair of 'slim boot cut' last year from Marks that were surprisingly flattering.
I may hunt out another pair for a try on.
