Aww feel better Linus. Has anyone seen the Haribo advert where adults talk with children's voices? It's actually really funny!

Thanks all. I don't know if I'm brave enough to share the pics, they look so bad, like the frumpiest (on me! - sorry novice) most unflattering bootcuts you can imagine.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 05/02/2015 20:38

Wow Marsha Shock they just don't think do they?!

Well done topaz that's amazing.

shop yes I'll try with different shoes :)

QueenCardigan · 05/02/2015 20:38

Oh no linus poor do. Hope you're both ok.
topaz great weight loss.
blair you do not have fat thighs.

Off to bed now. Night night.

shopafrolic · 05/02/2015 20:42

Feel better QueenC I keep meaning to ask whether you are pleased with your spiralizer. Do you have one Topaz?

BrandyAlexander · 05/02/2015 20:47

Okay Blair, you're allowed that one slipGrin

I am in bed quietly sighing. Dd had the mother of all meltdowns this evening. My nanny was not exactly helpful. Ds has still not fallen asleep.

LinusDKD · 05/02/2015 20:49

Tell me your ailment and I'll prescibe you something shop! Wink

Well done on the weight loss topaz

Going to bed as well as I will probably have a night of interrupted sleep again

Night night

shopafrolic · 05/02/2015 21:01

I am a 21 year old living in the body of a 42 year old Linus what meds would you suggest? :)

santamarianovella · 05/02/2015 21:01

blair I can't imagine you looking frumpy or bad in the flares, its impossible,
I've posted a pic for you all, while I'm heavily bloated due to the heaviest period I've ever had, so I don't think you can top that!
And my dh says stupid stuff like that all the time, he sang staying alive when I first bought them almost 3 years ago Hmm
topaz that's great weight loss.

linus hope all is well and no sleep interruption ,

Drywhiteplease · 05/02/2015 21:02

I remember the boot debacle .... Ooooh . Big MN gong.

justasecond · 05/02/2015 21:49

What shoes will you wear with the flares Santa?
Maybe you need to try with different boots Blair I am with Shop not sure about the pistols with them.
I quite liked the frugality in hers yesterday[[http://www.the-frugality.com/]]
I am slightly regretting selling my bargain £15 MIH marrakesh on ebay now. I have a similar pair from 7fam though buts it is too wet atm. I hate soggy trouser bottoms. I might try them with my dark brown pettys.
Hope you feel better Linus and well done on your "win" with m&s. Did you like the pants you ordered? Smile
Off to watch The Good Wife S6. Alicia's hair gets better as the seasons go on too. Shame about Peter, he is ageing very rapidly. I used to have a major crush on him in satc Blush

sleepwhenidie · 05/02/2015 22:01

Santa I want to meet your DH, he has a song for every occasion Grin

sleepwhenidie · 05/02/2015 22:01

Or maybe just a song for every outfit!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 05/02/2015 22:08

shop and justa were right, I have tried some wedge sandals and the jeans look much better somehow (even DP agrees). I can't get a good pic of them though. I think they look ok in the mirror and then photos just make me look stumpy, so I'll stick with the mirror!

Just had to reorder the bikini bottoms in a 14 Hmm as the 12 is too small, and there was only one left in stock. I think my bum must be getting bigger Blush

libertychick · 05/02/2015 23:28

I always have to size up in bikini bottoms Blair.

Went to see Selma tonight - amazing. Really powerful film. David Oyelowo is absolutely excellent, really cannot understand why he wasn't nominated for an Oscar. And I kept being distracted by Carmen Ejogo's style as Coretta Scott King - How to do a fitted jacket and pearls and look soooooo hot new girl crush

Blair for you to wear with your flares while sticking your tongue out at DP Grin

Ok, the mass order of clothes has started to trickle into the liberty household cue lots of disapproving noises from DH

This Halhuber blouse is so me. But I am cross with HoF as I ordered a 12 and received a 10 and the 12 is now sold out Angry. It's definitely their mistake as the receipt states 12. Anyway, the 10 fits but I am wary as it's viscose and so has risk of shrinkage - what to do?

Also ordered the matching skirt. Same mistake, ordered a 12, they sent a 10. Again it fits but the fabric feels a bit flimsy and feels like it would cling to tights so not a keeper.

Big dilemma between this Maxmara skirt and this Viyella skirt. I want to love the Maxmara one. It fits quite well, but is slightly above the knee and I prefer my knees to be covered. Also it's a bit tricky to style, I've tried a few options but only really love it with the cream APC sweater I got from Shop.

The Viyella one fits well and looks good (I think) with lots of different tops tucked in. But it's a very grown up look and I'm worried it might look too old, needs grooming and accessories to be spot on to avoid looking like my mum. I also like that it has pockets and belt loops. And it's very flattering and needless to say completely covers my knees.

Opinions welcome...I'm going to mull it over as I'll wait until some of the other things I have ordered arrive before making final decisions about what stays and goes.

Drywhiteplease · 06/02/2015 07:54

liberty could have the hem dropped on the MaxM skirt? I've had this done before and a false hem put in.
Re Viyella....it's a great style and I'm with you on the belt loops, love them. You are great at styling the midi skirt, doubt you'd look like your mother Smile....again, a good tailor could take it up a bit if you're worried about the length.
I LOVE my camel skirt, goes with everything, whichever you choose will get loads of wear.
Love the H blouse, so tempted.
Great haul.

libertychick · 06/02/2015 09:10

Thanks dry! The H blouse would be great on you. Having slept on it I think the Viyella is winning. I'd love to keep the Maxmara too and dropping the hem is a good idea but I have too many wardrobe gaps to justify 2 camel skirts. And I have 5 more skirts winging their way to me!

Morning!

I love both skirts lib (not helpful) as they are both very different styles even though they're the same colour.

The night wasn't too bad (DS only woke up once at 4) but now both DC have a temperature. DD only a very low temp but DS was 39.7 this morning.

So both DC are on the sofa downstairs and DH is in the armchair and I am running about keeping everyone drugged up and hydrated.

I also did a massive shop this morning so we don't have to leave the house for the rest of the weekend (apart from going to the baker to get freshly baked bread)

blair I also need to go up a size in bikini bottoms, I think a lot of women do.

shop for your ailment I recommend vodka/Red Bull and Haribo bears. You'll be buzzing for days! Wink

maradesbois · 06/02/2015 09:38

Morning,

Lib I much prefer the Viyella skirt in the pics. Have an orange Hermès silk square that is crying out to be worn with it as a smart work outfit with a nod to the '70s.

QueenCardigan · 06/02/2015 09:53

How annoying with the wrong sizes lib. On looking at pictures I marginally prefer the max mara skirt but I think that's because I prefer the shade. Love the blouse. I don't find viscose shrinks too much. It normally pings back once ironed.

linus sending you love/hugs/chocolate/cocktails, whatever it is that will get you through the day. I'm by no means 100% but I finally feel on the mend. I've kept ds off school to recover and both him and dd are still coughing. Did anyone see that the flu jab hasnt been effective this year?

I'm airing the house as we have visitors this weekend. A friend who I haven't seen for 5 years is coming today and my cousin is comng tomorrow. Trying to de-bug so have all the windows wide open. Despite being really cold it's actually beautiful blue skies and I can hear birds singing so it feels almost spring like Smile

QueenCardigan · 06/02/2015 09:56

shop I really like my spiraliser. I don't use it much but I absolutely love corgette spaghetti. I'm glad I've got it even though it will spend a large amount of time in the cupboard. I can see me using it more in the summer to add spiraliser carrot/corgette to salads.

libertychick · 06/02/2015 11:57

Oh yes Mara. An orange silk Hermes scarf would be perfect with it. I must check out TKMaxx for something like that.

Hope everyone recovers soon Linus and QueenC. It does seem that flu jabs have not worked well this year. We have been relatively unscathed chez lib (touch wood) although DD is still coughing in the mornings from the dose she had a few weeks ago.

BTW one I am wearing your statement necklace today!

OP posts:
OneLittleLady · 06/02/2015 12:04

Yay lib I'm just glad you liked it Smile

Oh yes, I know the flu jab didn't work this year since I got a dose of it. I haven't been that ill since the last time i had flu as a teenager. 'Luckily' i only had a 'mild' dose this time

Hope everyone who is ill is better soon Thanks

QueenCardigan · 06/02/2015 12:57

Figleaves order has arrived so I have 5 bras and 2 bikinis to try on. blair I always size up in bikini bottoms and pants as I find otherwise you can get the dreaded muffin top.
