In the long run karbea will you change the carpet to what? Another carpet or wood/stone?

maradesbois · 29/01/2015 19:31

Hello,

Am enjoying a very quiet and relaxing train journey to London with my M&S picnic and book. Have some move-related stuff to take care of including school visits. The logistics involved in arranging midweek cc has been crazy though, such a pita that you aren't allowed to bring dc when they are the ones who are going to be attending Confused. Have my Birkin and good wool burberry prorsum coat with me anyway, doing the bcbg look in the hope that it will impress!

Blair great that your shoes are now perfect. It's getting close now!

Dry that dress is a fab find, so you the style and tailoring.

Novice I know what you mean about balance between being comfortable and not creating spoiled dc but your children will grow up aware of their parents's work ethic and know not to take things for granted hence comfortable travel is ok Grin

Karbea hard to advise without seeing the space but for cottage would probably say a heritage shade from F&B or Little Greene. Although it's not warm maybe look at F&B skylight to lighten a dark room.

Karbea · 29/01/2015 19:38

santa I've no idea tbh! decorating this room wasn't really on my radar, so I've not thought about it much. I think probably another carpet as the family room and dining room which are currently carpet are going to be wood, so it would be the only room in carpet, but I'd really like to replace the gas fire with a proper fire and if we do that then I'd want stone or wood. Not sure...

I've found my f&b swatch book, so I've pulled out both of those colours so will place them in the room and live with them for a bit...

justa I have been using the Liquid Gold but not sure I have noticed an improvement. I think the problem is that I already exfoliate with a flannel every night anyway Blush
It hasn't made any difference to my acne marks either. I'm seeing a dermatologist in 2 weeks now so from then on I'll just be using whatever they tell me to use. Might have a bottle of liquid gold going spare!

maradesbois · 29/01/2015 19:44

Actually probably not skylight for a living room. I wanted to use it in our house for an area where the only source of natural light was a (literal) skylight.

Karbea · 29/01/2015 19:48

I've been using clarins gentle exfoliator brightening toner for awhile and I think it's really helped my skin, I've not used it for a couple of days and I've notice a few bumps reappear.

shopafrolic · 29/01/2015 19:50

Blair would love to try the Liquid Gold if you do let it go. Happy to pay x

AmberNectarine · 29/01/2015 19:54

I too did some charity shopping today - tried on a baby blue Chanel short sleeved jacket, the tailoring was stunning and it fit like a dream but it made me look like a Tory wife so I didn't buy. Did pick up a pleather skater skirt though.

Off out tonight wearing grey fringed Zara mini, black and white striped long sleeve top, grey fur coat, opaques, black pointy ankle boots and a Paparazzi clutch that looks like a magazine (Carrie had one in SATC).

santamarianovella · 29/01/2015 19:59

I'd wait until you have a clearer vision of what you want for flooring, as it can be pointless in choosing one now, as you still have other renovation plans, specially if you want to get a new fire place, I always like fireplaces with wood or stone for flooring, and then you can use a shade like Pavilion grey or cornforth white, from F&b, so versatile,

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 29/01/2015 20:01

Of course shop, will keep it in mind and let you know :) x

Amber wow, how much does a Chanel jacket go for in a charity shop?

And at your outfit. I always think it must be so fun to be a winter - almost everything in the shops caters to you. I have no idea how I would go about creating such a cool outfit in Spring colours. It's the old "children's tv presenter" thing... no wonder I fall back on navy so much. Bring on summer!

Karbea · 29/01/2015 20:06

santa this is sort of an interim decoration, I need to repaint the damp and the pink plaster moving the door will make. We've planning permission to do an extension and I don't really want to replace carpets etc until the builders have moved out.

Karbea · 29/01/2015 20:08

amber unless it was very expensive I think I would have got the jacket. I dream of having a Chanel jacket.

santamarianovella · 29/01/2015 20:23

Strong white is good karbea,

santamarianovella · 29/01/2015 20:34

My mum has this and its my absolute favourite, she offered to give me another pink tweed one with denim, it comes with a matching skirt, but its not my style, I keep telling her I want that cream tweed and boucle one, but she always answers with a firm "no"

Drywhiteplease · 29/01/2015 20:35
