Gorgeous trousers btw

muddlingalongquitenicely · 27/01/2015 21:17

ujjayi they look just the right height will see if anywhere sells in birmingham as going there saturday. Since i lost weight my feet have shrunk and they werent big in the first place!

Ujjayi · 27/01/2015 21:27

QueenC I have that image on one of my Pinterest boards and have been pondering if I could make it work. Not sure about the white trainers (although DMBL40 raves about hers). Maybe with leather Converse instead? I've had a bit of a change of direction style-wise. Having always been a VW wannabe with mad art teacher styling, I find myself suddenly drawn to IM cool. A huge transition so still finding my feet!

Liberty, thank youSmile. Love the Ines dress - very chic.

Muddling I would also look in TKMaxx for a pair of the Aline shoes - I found mine in there at £40 even tho they were still available instore in Dune.

Karbea · 27/01/2015 21:30

I will never be convinced that fit flops are attractive.

muddlingalongquitenicely · 27/01/2015 21:36

Thanks for the tkmaxx tip!

shopafrolic · 27/01/2015 21:45

Yay about the dress Lib good stuff.

muddlingalongquitenicely · 27/01/2015 21:49

Ujjayi · 27/01/2015 22:47

Dry - yep. I put a size 10 in my "Save For Later" bit of the site on Sunday evening & all sizes were available but had disappeared by today except 16s. I must have bought literally the last one as they showed as entirely sold out when I checked out.

BrandyAlexander · 27/01/2015 22:52

Hello everyone! Dh and i went to the ballet this evening, had a lovely time.

Lib, you're welcome x

loved my outfit today. All Black, damsel in a dress scalloped dress with matching jacket. think its called Alexandra. So I accessorised the hell out if it. Grin Sapphire and diamond necklace, 7ct diamond bracelet, big aquamarine square cocktail ring surrounded by diamonds and Hermes diamond watch. I swear it is not as ghastly as it sounds! I wore my lovely cashmere coat, grey cashmere scarf, grey cashmere hat and grey Chloe paraty. matchy and shiny. oh yes.Grin Grin

Shop's questions....

  1. I can't think of anything I would want!Confused
  1. I have a levi denim jacket that is 25 years old. saved and bought with cash from my first job. It means a lot to me.
  1. pink!
BrandyAlexander · 27/01/2015 22:55

I can see several mnvers in those shoes that muddling linked. Dry and Sleep? way too high for me!!

Fedupnagging · 28/01/2015 08:10

Morning all

Lovely shoes Muddling, too high for me though.

Ujjayi I love that asos top and was going to order it in Feb (am doing a no spend January) so am v Sad it's sold out. Dry did you actually get yours or was it sold out too.?

Novice I love the ballet - recently saw Edward Scissorhands at Sadlers Wells and going to ROH soon. Your outfit and bling sounded so sophisticated.

Did anyone see Boden had discount on all their tops and t shirts the other day? It is a bit of a struggle getting t shirts that are good quality and don't look like a dishrag after a couple of washes but Boden were ok last year.

shopafrolic · 28/01/2015 08:17

Have a lovely day today Novice :)
Meant to say Ujjayi I couldn't claim the glory for that sweater. Hope it works when you get it
Is anyone else getting bored of winter? I am so fed up of wearing skinnies, Pistols, vest and cashmere sweater :( I want to get my ankles out

Fedupnagging · 28/01/2015 08:35

Definitely bored of skinnies and boots now Shop - I love the ankle skimmer and kitten heel look and desperate to dig them out again - and buy more!

Am about to do a long dog walk with a friend so will be looking hot in padded coat and a hat, oh and wellies!

LinusDKD · 28/01/2015 09:14

Morning!

lib your parcel arrived today! Thank you so much for going to Uniqlo and getting me that merino jumper. DH still had a £20 note somewhere so I'll send you that asap!

the colour red looks a bit different IRL but I'll have to try it on properly once I have the time as now it's DD who's home sick. Sad

Oh and my NaP Chinti and Parker jumper arrived yesterday (7 days after my order, via DHL for which I had to pay 15€, not impressed) and it's lovely. It's a lot thicker than I expected as the merino jumpers I have from Uniqlo and J Crew are a lot thinner, but it's very soft and slouchy so it's a keeper.

All this talk of that Asos jumper has made me finally get my arse into gear to send my red one to dry and I bought a big enveloppe today.

Now all I need to do is put the jumper in, write on the address and go to the post office to post it. Grin

OneLittleLady · 28/01/2015 09:25

morning all,

miserable day here, very dark, grey and wet. the damp is making my bones hurt. class was cancelled at the last minute, just before i set off so i have an unexpected free day. Might start hunting through my wardrobe to find out what clothes i have suitable for my holiday please let my passport come in time or i may go out for coffee and people watching, havent decided yet

BrandyAlexander · 28/01/2015 09:33

Oh dear sorry to hear about your dd, Linus, hope she gets well soon.

Thank you Shop and FedUp.

FedUp, I love the ballet but know I am pushing my luck with dh to get him to go to more than a couple of times a year. He enjoyed last night so might add in an extra one this year and see if he notices.Wink

I am at home today so wearing White Company curved hem sweater over a Primark long tee and j crew tooth blue jeans. Less bling than yesterday!

OneLittleLady · 28/01/2015 09:51

novice I'd love it if Dp would go the ballet with me, sadly I don't think he will but he did sit through swan lake on christmas morning as it was on sky arts and i wanted to watch it! I think it was enough for him to sit through Wicked with me without complaint haha

Hope DD is better son linus

today i am wearing black fleece lined tights, a black and purple tartan skirt, burgundy harry potter tee and grey wool cardigan. will add black velvet dr martens, black and purple hobbs coat, black leather gloves and blue and cream VW scarf if i do decide to go out. it's basically a comfy outfit for uni, usually on wednesdays we do a lot of stuff with mics and cables etc so have to be able to move around best i can so clothes have to reflect that

Ujjayi · 28/01/2015 11:01

Novice I love the ballet too (and thankfully so does DH). I always feel such a pang of jealousy though as my performance days are way behind me. I started ballet classes again last September after a break of 20 years (ouch! how is that even possible?!). It is a killer work out and makes you realise how much you took your body for granted back then.

Shop I got thoroughly fed up with skinny jeans and boots up until this weekend. I now have a self-imposed a jeans ban from Monday to Friday. I used to dress up every day - even tho I work from home - but I've lost that oomph over the last few months and frankly it is depressing me so an effort must be made!

Having said that, I am wearing khaki skinnies today but they are definitely more trouser like from Zara with a Uniqlo black merino jumper, a black shaggy gilet from local store and black suede fringed ankle boots from Topshop (I will cry when these eventually die, I have worn them so much this winter).

Fedup enjoy your dog walk - my dog walking attire is similarly chic ;)

Linus hope DD recovers soon

One how are you feeling after your nasty incident the other day? Enjoy your unexpected day off.

Right, work to be done not online shopping, no .

QueenCardigan · 28/01/2015 11:02

shop I'm with you. I was just saying in the winter thread yesterday that I'm bored of winter clothes. Like you I want to roll up my jeans and get the ballet flats out.

OneLittleLady · 28/01/2015 11:20

I'm okay thanks Ujjayi heads still a bit tender but that's to be expected. My friend is coming round for a coffee and a chat about what alterations i'm doing to her wedding dress for her. I know i'm stitching on pearls which will take ages as i'm sewing them on by hand so that's a job for over the summer holidays, it's not a one day job at all!

maradesbois · 28/01/2015 11:39

Morning!

Fully agree Shop re being fed up of winter. Have been avoiding jan spending like fedup but am tempted by some (ankle revealing) jeans on Outnet plus a couple of pale coloured blazers.

Today the weather here is about as grim as it gets but have ditched the snow boots and chunky layers regardless. Need a mammoth cashmere hand wash session. Today I am doing double denim (dark indigo ts Leigh jeans with pale gap shirt), grey toga pulla boots and my big Hermès shawl folded over like a kind of blanket wrap. Have been using the same bag all winter too (burgundy smythson tote) so need to change that too. Might get my goyard St. Louis out, normally only gets used in summer but its navy so no reason why not.

One hope you've recovered from your fall, enjoy your 'day off' Smile.

Ujjayi great to hear from you. Your style change sounds very exciting.

Novice sounds like you dazzled at the ballet, fab outfit and accessorising.

Linus hope dd is feeling better soon.

Muddling nice shoes and love the colour but too high for me too. 10cm is my absolute max but am more comfortable around 8.5.

Ujjayi · 28/01/2015 11:41

One Glad you're feeling okay. It sounded pretty nasty. Beading is one of those tasks that many people think is quick & easy but it literally zaps hours of your time! Plus I seem to lose the damn needles constantly as they are so fine. I'm designing a wedding dress at the moment but thankfully she wants it super plain with lace overlay so should be relatively pain-free Smile
