morning all,

Shop sounds very stressful, hope it all comes right for you both

working on my presentation, I have extra time to complete it, long winded reason why but i have extra time so i'm using it

libertychick · 29/01/2015 14:24

QueenC DH was fine. DD has asked can I please go on more courses as she gets ice cream and more TV when I go away.

Wearing the Chloe peacoat today! Love it Smile.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 29/01/2015 14:29

Hi all :)

shop that sounds annoying and unfair but I guess it's just the way the game goes. At least you have the trip to look forward to and I hope the stress eases one way or another.

Tried my remade gold shoes last night and they now fit perfectly - so happy. Also loving getting several RSVP cards back in the post each day, it's really exciting!

Topshop summer dress arrived and is very stretchy fits, but it is pretty transparent on top and too tight to wear with a bra, so need to get some sort of nude bandeau bra/boob tube to go underneath.

And finally I've booked to see a tailor tomorrow to get this skirt taken in and up, and these flares taken up to be Pistol length. I was talking about these jeans on here a year ago Blush

Karbea · 29/01/2015 14:54

I've just been and had a henna tattoo thingy done on my hand.

OneLittleLady · 29/01/2015 15:49

So exciting blair! lovely that your shoes are now a perfect fit

I'm slowly sorting out what I've got for my holiday and making a list of what I need divided up into two sections, what I need to buy here and what can be bought when I get to florida. Swimwear I think I'll leave til I get there as nothings grabbing me here plus full selections aren't even in stores yet

Stokey · 29/01/2015 15:57

Gorgeous skirt Blair

Hush come up really big Justa. I always take XS and am 8-10 in real life. I've just been to the sample sale, 3 rows of S/M and only one of XS, rather frustrating. I still managed to spend quite a bit but got a couple of pairs of PJs at £15 each and some harems for a fiver.

I've been pondering Shop's qs.

  1. It would have to be something classic. A Burberry trench maybe or some flat black boots.
  2. I have a black cotton dressing gown that a tailor hand embroidered with a dragon for me in India back in the 80s, I still wear it in the summer.
  3. Red probably
Stokey · 29/01/2015 15:59

I love henna tattoos Karbea. Are you going to a wedding?
Dd1 is desperate to have one.

OneLittleLady · 29/01/2015 16:47

lib I have an olive/khaki green dress, it's sort of a longish skirt on the bottom that you can ruche with ties underneath it and it has a sort of knitted, long sleeved top part (it has a modesty panel at the front) I wondered if you might be interested in looking at it if I can get some decent pictures. I'd say it'd fit RC quite well but it might be totally different in style to anything you like. Let me know if you want me to take pics. i love it but it's totally wrong colourwise for me

WhattoWearNow · 29/01/2015 17:23

Just dashing in to say here is an affordable copy (in silver) of that gorgeous Boodles ring here

Drywhiteplease · 29/01/2015 17:59

Oh Shop all my fingers are crossed for you for the trip. I can sympathise on work wobble, big changes for the better ultimately chez Dry, finances are a bit uncertain Hmm for the short term although by no means catastrophic.

Went to drop a bag at the charity shop. Came home with this brand new, with a practically invisible mark on the sleeve. 11 cm to come off the hem will look ace for work with leopard print slippers and opaques. Not bad for £6!!!!!!Shock.

Fedupnagging · 29/01/2015 18:03

Lib looking forward to my parcel. Glad you like the makeup. Nice Cos haul.

Novice hope you managed to sort out all your flights.

Shop Wine for you and your dh. Hope all gets resolved soon.

Loving that boodles ring copy What. Do you think anyone would notice the difference between cz and the real deal?

Karbea · 29/01/2015 18:03

I know I've said it before but I love Boodles. I'm going to carry on wearing my Boodles bits even tho, they are the wrong colour for me hurumpf

Re henna, no, one of the girls at work has been doing it for charity. I just love the look of them.

I've eaten so much yesterday and today :(

My hush pjs have arrived I need to try them on, but I'm too cold to get undressed.

I really need to order my bobble hat. Do you think I should get the brown, cream or oatmeal colour? I can't decide and I got so cold today on my dog walk, in the snow.

Karbea · 29/01/2015 18:07

fedup no I don't think people would notice, I think if you normally wear the real deal people just assume it is real. I've tried on one of the million pound boodle rings a few times and you could easily wear it anywhere as everyone would assume it was fake as it is soooo large ;) I think people make assumptions based on everything else about you. That website is wear kate Middleton got some earrings and people all assumed they were real not faux.

Karbea · 29/01/2015 18:10

Is "where" not "wear" urghhh.

OneLittleLady · 29/01/2015 18:12

that dress is fab Dry a total bargain

I came home from the charity shop with two bright flippy button through skirts which are perfect for holiday casual, a black lace top skater dress which will look great with my burgundy tights and my velvet boots or black tights and my burgundy velvet mary janes, a navy cotton skater dress, a bright pink monsoon angora and cashmere mix cardigan new without tags, a brand new with tags pair of black and white geometric print slim cut trousers, a brand new with tags fleecey tartan blanket, a brand new with tag black cashmere cardigan and a pair of black leather fleece lined gloves for the princely sum of £15!

Karbea · 29/01/2015 18:31

one your haul sounds great. I wish I had the patience to hunt in charity shops.

Am I allowed to ask decorating questions?...

Drywhiteplease · 29/01/2015 18:46

YES YES love decorating questions

OP posts:
Karbea · 29/01/2015 18:55

Excellent!
I'm unexpectedly having my living room decorated, it's an off white colour at the mo. The room is L shaped and I'm having the entrance door moved so that you will come in via the smaller part of the room (see pic - this is what it's like now. the larger bit will eventually have a large U shaped sofa opposite the fireplace (hope that makes sense) anyway the room although triple aspect isn't very light, but it's large so it's not cosy either.
Anyone any suggestions of paint colour?
I'd love to wallpaper but we are having some work done on a leak, so want to paint it at the mo, as I'm not 100% sure the leak will be fixed iykwim.
The only thing I'm keeping is the dogs bed which is an aged brown leather chesterfield (don't ask), the style of the house is sort of modern cottage.

libertychick · 29/01/2015 18:56

Thanks what. Great copy of the boodles ring. I need gold tone jewellery though.

one if you can get a pic that would be great but TBH it doesn't really sound like my type of thing - sounds a bit boho and I lean more towards the classic than romantic iyswim Smile. Thank you for thinking of me.

karbea go for it with decorating questions!

OneLittleLady · 29/01/2015 18:57

Hmm, you mgith be right and it might be a bit boho for you lib. I might chop it down tbh and just use the bottom as a skirt and ditch the top part. will see

libertychick · 29/01/2015 18:58

Sounds like it needs a warm but light colour karbea. Like a pale taupe.

Drywhiteplease · 29/01/2015 18:58

What colour is your furniture/carpets?
Do you want to change window treatments?
If not what colour are existing?

OP posts:
Karbea · 29/01/2015 19:02

dry the only thing I'm keeping long term is the dog bed ;) at the moment the carpet is very light cream, but it's knackered really. The furniture is very modern dark brown leather sofas (which came from my bachelor pad in London and don't suit the house at all), rest of the furniture is random things that will all be thrown/given to the gardener/dump.
I've seen a taupe sofa I quite like, so taupes not a bad idea...

MarshaBrady · 29/01/2015 19:20

Karbea I'm a big fan of F&B Shaded White. Such a nice feeling of warmth, but muted.

Karbea · 29/01/2015 19:22

marsha I'll dig around in my box of f&b testers in a sec and give that one a go bet it's the only colour I've not got!
