BTM, you lucky so-and-so.
I'm about to book a spa day at Champneys in January for DM, as a 70th birthday present, and I will of course be forced to accompany her.
That, and our planned weekend trip to Dublin for DH's friend's wedding at the end of the month, is what will sustain me for the grim return to the coalface in January.
Crem, you should definitely tack something "luxurious" onto the end of your trip to see DD. I do have massive sympathy with you having to work NYE.
NU, your poor thing. It is particularly depressing being ill at Christmas. Touch wood, pestilence has not ventured over the threshold of Chateau Cointreau recently.
I've just whipped up an utterly delicious Turkey Gratin which has finally seen off the remainder of the Christmas lunch leftovers. Apart from a slab of cold Christmas pud which I will force down later, with half a tub of brandy butter on top. I can now see the back of my fridge.
