More crepey wisdom.....

OP posts:
motherinferior · 29/12/2014 10:11

May sneak off for solo lunch too. Grin

bigTillyMint · 29/12/2014 10:12

Stropps, DH was CRAP at it - yay! He is so competitive, it was great to see him lose, despite his team members best efforts!

Blackduck · 29/12/2014 10:36

Stropps :) re slidy deck game
BTM I just don't do pamper - now a good flotation tank experience......

Here kitchen tidied from last night, dp out buying provisions, I will 'supervise' in an off hand way...

I suspect I will need my bed tonight although I am actually hankering after a curry.

And I don't want to even think about the amount of money we have spent.

herbaceous · 29/12/2014 10:42

BTM - we played the logo game too, and won! Along with my partner, DP's niece. Beating the horrid new boyfriend...

I'm not dressed either, but must shortly stir self and go to Sainsbury's for provisions. Having friends round for lunch tomorrow - going to do piri-piri pork, with option of burgers and chips for the kids.

bigTillyMint · 29/12/2014 10:50

Yay Herbs! Definitely one for us crepeysSmile

herbaceous · 29/12/2014 11:05

And how about this for a Christmas miracle. I've only gained one (1, I) pound. Which isn't bad, considering that daily calorie intake = 5,000, daily calorie expenditure = 5.

motherinferior · 29/12/2014 11:06

Hey, did I tell you about the 'wet Shiatsu' I had in Hippyville? Amaayzing.

I have dragged self onto train - brewing yet another bloody cold, may not be able to see parents tomorrow - with bribe of Bravissimo sale and possibly lunch in Wahaca.

DP has bought a new washing machine in the sales. GrinGrin

QueenQueenie · 29/12/2014 12:08

Found you all! Couldn't understand why no one at all was posting yesterday evening... doh!

All v quiet here - dh and ds2 gone back to the big city, me, ds1 and ddog going to stay here til Wednesday. Our very good friends are round the corner for company and ds1 is no trouble / good company so all is good. May stir from the sofa for a bracing walk with the friends after lunch...

Very glad not to be even thinking about braving the sales. Although have been gazing rather too often at a pair of leather trousers online - height of crepey chic or menopausal madness? Can't decide. They're not skin tight but rather caj. Would wear with lightweight jumper... If I dither long enough they'll be sold out.

MrsSchadenfreude · 29/12/2014 12:12

I think yes to leather trousers, QQ, but don't wear them with anything that has a whiff of leopardskin. Otherwise you are heading for Vanessa Feltz territory.

Now that I have had all my hair cut off, I am thinking of letting it grow. And dying it back to its original colour...

hattymattie · 29/12/2014 12:14

OMG - thought I'd lost you crepeys .

Also I typed a big post and lost it as didn't realise we were on 1000.

Hope NU is much better and that Stropps and Herbs are feeling more cheerful.

Will come back later when there's more time.

NUFC69 · 29/12/2014 13:07

Thanks for the new thread. Today I have < ta da > eaten a few dates stuffed with marzipan and had a small piece of quiche. This is a major improvement over an odd slice of toast and some porridge, so I must be feeling better.

DH has gone to see a Christmas play at the theatre with the DC and the DGC so I am watching sloppy films whilst wandering if it's going to snow. The sky has gone that strange colour but it might be too cold to actually snow.

I hope you're enjoying Somerset, BTM, lovely part of the world.

Knees up for the rest of the afternoon.

bigTillyMint · 29/12/2014 14:19

We are NU - glad to see you are feeling better! Just been for a lovely walk by the sea in Clevedon plus coffee stop in sun with blankets - fabXmas Smile

Think leather trousers would suit you QQ - go for it!

Blackduck · 29/12/2014 14:23

NU glad you are feeling better...
I am counting down to 5.00 when they all go home...

Meanwhile trying to deal with a blocked drain .

I refuse to call out anyone until we have tried all (chemical and other) options.

herbaceous · 29/12/2014 14:43

Just returned from Sainsburys, again. Amusing announcements over the tannoy:
'Could a first-aider come to the customer service desk.'
Two-minute pause
'Could a first-aider come to the customer service desk.'
Two-minute pause
'Could the janitor come to the customer service desk.'

Lord only knows what 'spillage' there had been.

Now back on the assignment. I absolutely HAVE to finish it today.

cremolafoam · 29/12/2014 15:06

Lol Herbs, I love the tannoy announcements. Esp if slightly frayedGrin

Yes, tis Baltic in NI today, but I am in the most overheated Public building so no fear of hypothermia. The bus was so frosted up that it was like being in a big mobile freezer. Still, not at 2010 levels with frozen sea and bringing a knee rug on public transportGrin

hattymattie · 29/12/2014 15:30

I have done a superficial clean and the rest of the family including DD's boyfriend went for a bike ride. Have done supermarket shop plus La Defense.

I am still confused about how many teenagers I will be feeding over the next few days plus we have DD's godfather arriving tomorrow. We are starting to resemble a squat!

Thought I'd solved lunch problems for NYD with a raclette, only to be informed that boyfriend doesn't like cheese! Now he's a very nice lad but I think that may be a deal breaker with this familyWink.

Blackduck · 29/12/2014 16:02

How can someone not like cheese??

I am in the last hour (hooray) of the great open house....

herbaceous · 29/12/2014 16:30

Cutting assignment... 300 more words to go... torture...

motherinferior · 29/12/2014 16:30

How can someone French not like cheese?

Survived rather gruelling shopping trip and am equipped for another year of LadyjoggingGrin.

beachyhead · 29/12/2014 16:37

They've gone - I have never eaten so much in 24 hours or set and cleared the table so many times.....

We had a lovely walk today in the sun, up through beech woods and down past a yew forest with lovely views. Mil did very well and actually looked better than ever.

Last night bizarrely ended with us all doing socking (matching the 100's of single socks we have in a large basket). God knows how/why but comments like 'I've got a long black one here' seem hysterically funny after copious amounts of wine...... All ended with a large sock fight, putting random socks on dogs etc. You get the picture Grin

I love cheese but by this stage of the proceedings am feeling a bit cheesed out.

I'd quite like it to snow now, just to keep everyone entertained for the rest of the week!

hattymattie · 29/12/2014 16:45

DD1 doesn't like cheese either - a grave disappointment to her father.

Anyway - I have just about sorted my menus and have a ready cooked ham on standby just in case.

It's going to be a case of muddling through!

bigTillyMint · 29/12/2014 17:23

They are obviously perfectly matched Hatty if weirdXmas Grin

Herbs, you're doing well working at this time of the year. DD and DGodD apparently did some revision before going in the gym and spa...

Feeling rather zonked after too long in the spaXmas Smile Off to a local pub for dinner later. It's a hard life!

herbaceous · 29/12/2014 17:26

200 words to go...

I'm only doing it as the assignment is due in on 5 January. Tomorrow we have friends for lunch, which will no doubt mean the evening is a write-off. NYE I have DS all day. New Year's Day we're going out for lunch (ditto, re evening). 2nd Jan I have DS all day. 3rd and 4th I'm going up to Sheffield to see old pal for her 50th birthday party. And I also have to plan my lesson for 6 Jan! Eeeeeeep.

Stropperella · 29/12/2014 19:47

Hot dang! What kind of evil genius let this loose on the world? "Rich chocolate ganache centre topped with sticky chocolate caramel slathered in intense dark chocolate".

motherinferior · 29/12/2014 20:24

I'll have what she's having Wink
