Yes, yes to Meet Up and modelling of new clothes

Not only are they a little 'Robin Hood', they're also out of stock in any kind of normal size.

Now I've got googling, and found all manner of nice things. Like these for example.

I like those pony skin ones, QQ. I bought these in the sale which dh has declared passion killers! They only had an 18 in the local M&S, so they are massive but comfy!

Both teens are off at parties, so dh, dd and I have treated ourselves to a early Wagamama's and then we are off to the neighbours for a glass of fizz in a bit... Then home to snuggle up in those pj's...

I'm sitting on the bed at DDad's, all dolled up in my party frock and diamonds, awaiting the arrival of the first guest for their NYE Posh Dinner. BIL has been slaving away in the kitchen with veal cheeks and other such frivolities.

DCs and their cousins have been fed pizza and will be locked in a bedroom until midnight, when they will be invited out to watch Jools ring in the New Year (if they're lucky). DS said "it's all about you this evening, isn't it?" Well, err, yes it is.

Have glammed up (well, from my PJ's previously!) and we are nearly ready to go out. No doubt DD will be a while yet...

Happy New Year Crepeys. We made a spur of the moment decision this morning and went to Versailles with DD's godfather leaving a house full of sleeping teenagers. It was a beautiful day and we lunched in a restaurant in the grounds.

We have now dispatched our three children to various parties and have eaten. I think I'm ready for bed having peaked too early but will make an effort to last until midnight, watch Graham Norton and drink pink champagne.

Lost my earlier post. Grrrrr.

Fear we have peaked too soon. We took kids out for pizza at 4, with wine and starters for us, the home for supper once kids in bed. Now Dh snoring in sofa and I have made a cup of herbal tea .

The dinner was indeed very, err, eccentric... but am rather merry on an excess of champagne, so all good!

Just off to bed, DS tucked up in a camp bed beside me, DH still partying downstairs.

Meal was epic. There were Sweetbreads. There was Rose Veal. Several varieties of wine. And a Trio of desserts.

Happy new year! I don't feel delicate enough, so clearly need to remedy that today. Need to do some work alas at some point as am teaching on Saturday.

I crashed last night and dh had to wake me up for 12. I was vv groggy but enjoyed Ruby Turner on Jools' hootenanny.!

Feeling far too chipper for a New Year's Day. Must be because I fell asleep before midnight, and only woke up when the fireworks started. Ruby Turne was ace, wasn't she crem!

Have friends for lunch, each bringing a course, so will feel dreadful tomorrow instead. At some point today I have to buy tickets for my train trip to Sheffield, buy tickets for a panto tomorrow (can't decide which one - we're surrounded by excellent options) and insert appendices into my assignment. None of these are good jobs when drunk.

Previous smugness about having only put on one Yuletide pound has evaporated - turns out it's four. Viewing my girth yesterday, DS said 'is that what you got for Christmas mummy? A jelly belly?'
