liberty in answer to your footwear dilemma. Buy gazelles and Pettys may have just bought a pair myself

QueenC I agree black trainers can look harsh but I am coming to the conclusion that I suit 'high contrast' (get me with the fashion speak). I have two grey pairs, converse and NB's and I keep thinking they look a bit 'meh' on me. And I haven't worn my pink Superga in ages.

Yup Marsha I was thinking of these for next month. Like liberty I need a pair of flat ankle boots to wear with skirts, dresses and trousers for work. Didn't think Pettys came in leather. Cheaper, and nice I hope than the R and B.

QueenC my living room is a bit mad. The walls are very yellow, F&B Babouche, and the we have wood panelling in London Clay. We have a yellow sofa and an orange chair. We wanted to brighten it up as it's a very long narrow room but definitely not to everyone's taste.

That should be Adidas not success!

Will pause for a week or so before I buy the Gazelles. But I will get them .

Also collected M&S bag today and it's lovely. Even better I got it at 20% off.

Fedup I like the look of the Uniqlo down jacket you linked, it looks cosy without bulk whereas the Boden one doesn't look warm enough. Did you get the Boden leather bracelet btw?

QueenC we have red living room too, it is a mad clash of bold patterns, fabrics and textures. Is a bit much for me tbh but looks fab at Christmas with decorations up. I'd love to start afresh when we move, sell lots of our current furniture and go for a pale colour scheme.

I didn't order any merino sweaters from gap but got a fab cashmere one from tk maxx today, its cobalt blue with a green panel, by garahni strok.

Some purchases to report, ahem. I'm on a real shirt buying binge at the moment so bought this in white and this in black. Also went to the J Crew opening last night (met WIT herself no less, she is tiny but very glam) and bought this which is just fabulous. It's my wedding anniversary tomorrow and DH has kindly bought me these. Nice man.

Fedup - yes the scarf arrived. Quality is ok. Not as good as my other wool one obis. But yes, it STANK - weird chemically smell. Mine has been washed too!

I've not got too much of a definite wishlist, I never do, I just buy things as I see them though I would like a new leather jacket. I swapped my last one on the swap thread as it was much too big for me and the cost of having it altered was a lot more than I'd paid for it in the first place. Hopefully it has found a good home with the poster I swapped it with

Amber great shoes, lucky lady. Love the Uniqlo shirts. I'm tempted by the white cotton and the grey silk one.

Liberty I have some tan suede Pettys. I plan on wearing them a lot this winter. I bought them from Luisa Via Roma earlier this year, they were quite reasonable.

Dry your house sounds as if it's coming along great. I'd love a project, we've still got a few things to do in our house but knowing me I will want to move as soon as they're done.

QueenC on our flooring downstairs we have Amtico, it's very hard wearing and is ideal for our family set up. In one room we have brown leather sofas and in the other room we have light grey fabric sofas, with F&B Lampshade Grey on the walls.

Accessories, I'm coveting a Hermes leather bracelet a la Mara may put it down on my birthday/ Christmas list.

Is DUO really only the place to get boots to fit a wide calf? I would like some high boots but I don't really want to be paying DUO prices, though they are lovely boots. I also don't want to be going to Simply Be, which I know do different calf widths because I hate the shop, I hate the clothes as they are generally polyester monstrosities and it's vastly overpriced for what it offers. Plus, I had some boots from there previously and the entire sole fell off after infrequent, gentle wear so I don't believe the quality is there for what they charge

One Clarks, Next, M&S all do wider fitting boots and some of the boots in Dune are wider too.

Dh noticed my new tartan scarf drying over the banisters this am and wondered why I had bought a new picnic blanket

Beautiful day today. Have just done a long dog and wore boden navy vest, gap skinnies and navy converse which are falling apart . Am meeting friends later and intend to wear these with this in navy.

Am at gym for first time in weeks, did a little 3k and some weights and feeling v unfit cardio-wise although stronger due to the shredding. Need to get a better balance between the two.

Unpredictable weather atm, it was only 12 this morning when did the SR so am in petit bateau navy cotton sweater with white jeans and gold lkb sandals but now it's boiling.

betty I love lampshade grey. Would love another bracelet too. My dh is in his comfort zone buying hermès accessories, strange I know! He also leaves everything until last minute then ends up having to throw money at it. I can live without loving thought going into my birthday etc if there's an orange box involved though

Wittering on there forgot the reason I came on to post in the first place. Have just ordered this bag to go with my dvf dress for black tie dinner later this month. It will be a perfect match for some old lkb heeled sandals I got for a wedding years ago but have hardly worn.

Queenc what a pain re the damp proofing but hopefully you will enjoy the choosing new decor part. I have a mixture of dark wood and polished cream tiles in open plan living/dining/kitchen area. Walls are boring creamish white with grey and floral rug and grey chairs and kitchen cabinets. with farmhouse style cream and dark wood table. Sofas are beige fabric with sage green and pink cushions. Looks better than it sounds.

Mara I have that dvf envelope clutch in a different colour. I really like it, good size, not too bling, well made and not too ridiculous a price although I got mine in matches sale.
