There's a chill in the air as we head towards Autumn. Some of us may have jetted off to sunnier spots, some of us are lounging on yachts (kind of) but we're still going strong 44 editions in. Come and join us for fun, friendly fashion and beauty chat. All welcome, any budget. :)

Awks · 08/09/2014 21:00

I love this

shopafrolic · 08/09/2014 21:05

What's going on with the feed on Pin now? I don't need to see half of the notifications they're showing me.....

santamarianovella · 08/09/2014 21:07

Fab awks

I'm not mad to love these am I? In reality I should be looking for snow suitable boots, not slutty western boots

MarshaBrady · 08/09/2014 21:10

I was checking out Saint Laurent shoes the other day for some reason, loads, they are incredible Santa

Nice Awks

Totally agree Shop I really don't need to know who's doing what over in news.

shopafrolic · 08/09/2014 21:11

Blimey Santa they are high!!! Definitely rubbish for snow :)
Awks do you?

Awks · 08/09/2014 21:16

What are your views on down jackets? I wear one quite a lot for dog walking. I've got a black Kors one which is thin and short and a silver Maison Scotch one which is massive and for the depths of Winter. They are so warm and I've never found anything warmer. But are they gross? What's an alternative?

Drywhiteplease · 08/09/2014 21:16

But it was worth it Shop because you looked and felt fab Smile

Awks · 08/09/2014 21:19

Santa they are v high and I don't think they would support my 10 stone Grin . They are aspirational shoes and I do like them. Could you actually walk in them?

Shop yes, I do. I can imagine me walking along the south bank in my size 10 jeans (fluke) and my saucony trainers, eating a 99 #deluded

shopafrolic · 08/09/2014 21:20

I did Dry - mainly thanks to you lovely lot!
Awks in the depths of winter the only thing that cuts it is my down jacket. I have tweed coats, Barbour wax jackets but down is definitely warmest. I think style goes a bit out of the window when I walk the hounds!

Drywhiteplease · 08/09/2014 21:21

Awks i have a down coat! I've never ever been cold in it. I look like Michelin woman but occasionally needs must. I have lovely wool coats huge MNV camel coat success last autumn which look fab but in the depths of winter I bring out the big guns.

Drywhiteplease · 08/09/2014 21:23

Oh Santa when I first saw those brown Marant boots I wasn't keen don't get the thick ankle look but.....seeing them on the model, all slouchy, I actually really love them.
Apologies but the second pair are a bit Dolly Parton on speed aren't they Grin

maradesbois · 08/09/2014 21:29

Wow Shop they are amazing, I thought you got black ones. What about Topshop for black skinnies? I love Gap's merino sweaters, should have got in there this w/e before the 30% ended but guess there'll be another one along soon. The problem with stores that discount so regularly like them and White Co is that people will always wait for the next code rather than pay fp.

I would like fur-lined boots this winter, wanted a pair last year but couldn't find any I loved. these Choos are gorgeous.

Already IMW are black Pistols, grey suede Toga Pulla, Tod's Chelsea boots & heeled brown leather ankle ones, Marella knee-highs with lace-up backs, Fendi heeled ankle boots with gold buckle for evenings.

maradesbois · 08/09/2014 21:38

Awks I don't have a down coat but now you mention it that's something else to add to the list for those freezing winter days. Zara does nice ones. I have a friend who has a MaxMara SMax (cubes?) which is lovely and not too bulky.

QueenCardigan · 08/09/2014 21:45

mara the gasp disvount is until the end of the day...
shop you probably need the legging jeans rather than the skinny ones.
santa those are fierce! I'd be worried that the heel would snap in half.
one hope you find an oven
awks I love my barbour down jacket.

Awks · 08/09/2014 21:47
shopafrolic · 08/09/2014 21:52

Mara I don't own the grey Pistols, mine are black - was just dream shopping!
QueenC you're probably right, they were awful on my legs. I've never tried Topshop jeans. Which ones should I try?

OP posts:
OneLittleLady · 08/09/2014 21:54

Haha, that's ace Awks!

thanks for the oven sympathy. I'm so annoyed by it, it's money i really could do without spending right now but needs must I suppose

santamarianovella · 08/09/2014 21:58

I know shop Sad but they are so gorgeous!

marsha I'm loving what Hedi slimane is doing for saint laurent ATM,
well structured clothes, without being stiff or fussy, simple denim shirt with leather mini and chunky or mile high boots,

awks I wear down coats, dont care what is being said about them in all those frump threads, sometimes in the depths of winter, during school run ,I love my moncler coat more than my dh,Grinits just so warm,
I'm contemplating getting another down coat, winters are freezing where we are at.

dry Grin I'm really loving all western themes going this AW, want a plaid shirt too,

bettykt · 08/09/2014 22:11

Awks I have The North Face parka for the school run, it's not hideously bulky, I only ever wear a t-shirt underneath as it's so warm.

Shop I'm very tempted by those Gap jumpers, I have to 30% code too.

One I feel your oven pain, I'm currently shopping for a combi built in microwave and oven, it has to match our other oven and is £££ hence lack of clothes buying.

Marsha non exciting boots for me, black Ash Jalouse and tan Hudsons but I quite fancy these

Mara hope you got your phone sorted.

Santa love the 2nd pair, but doubt I could walk in them.

OneLittleLady · 08/09/2014 22:19

santa I've got two plaid shirts already. I am so ahead of fashion this time round!

shopafrolic · 09/09/2014 07:06

Here's the other plaid shirt I now own - I had to size down to a Small. The colour is a perfect match for my swatches. Unfortunately the one that Linus had recommended to me had sold out in the red........ this one

shopafrolic · 09/09/2014 07:06

Morning all BTW - did you go for the merino Betty?

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 09/09/2014 09:06

Morning.

Santa I completely agree, I was thinking the same thing and had a look at all the stuff. I like re-fresh and I love the Saint Laurent name.

They look good Bettyk

I had my eye on some Rag&Bone ones, but now I think not. I really like Shop's link to the grey pistols but not sure I can do for a third time. I always have this dilemma. I still have the pettys but I would like another shape and not suede.

Stokey · 09/09/2014 09:38

Morning

I've been thinking about boots too - apparently just below the knees are coming back as part of the 60s trend. Quite fancy some black ones like these carrying on the Saint Laurent love, but they are a definite lottery win buy!

I've ordered a couple of the GAP silk cotton shirts that Belinda recommended on her Workwear Edit but no other shopping.

Interview on Friday so will be buying some black court shoes in the next couple days - think I'll have to go for Florets light as can't afford the real thing.
