There's a chill in the air as we head towards Autumn. Some of us may have jetted off to sunnier spots, some of us are lounging on yachts (kind of) but we're still going strong 44 editions in. Come and join us for fun, friendly fashion and beauty chat. All welcome, any budget. :)

Have fun Amber! Reminds me I need to think of 2 outfits for this weekend - out with DP tomorrow night for dinner, drinks and theatre, and then a big group Chinese lunch on Sunday. The weather is supposed to be rubbish!

Btw, marsha have you ordered the coat yet???

I thought weather was ok Sat and Sun but rubbish Mon?
I have decided I hate buying dresses. Because I never wear them I have no idea where to start. And weddings are a night are because I resent buying clothes I can't wear anywhere else

Would your black Joseph dress work for the wedding shop?

Report
shopafrolic · 22/08/2014 20:39

Not sure I can wear black for a daytime do Liberty? Both weddings are day and evening, one on the Sat and the next on the Sunday. Was going to wear my Whistles Bella to one, but my tomato Reiss dress was too big last wear and I'm not sure the Me&em Grecian is dressy enough for a day do?
How is your DH?

Is one of the weddings more casual than the other? Could you dress the Me&Em up? Gold shoes and a really nice bag...? (I'm with you on the buying dresses you can't wear anywhere else!)

Topazandpearl · 22/08/2014 20:53

Funny Shop, having read your earlier posts, I was thinking "Whistles Bella" but didn't like any of the current ones for you! I think a Meandem Grecian could work well with the right accessories.

Black for day time is tricky. Could you get the Reis's one taken in? DH is good. On crutches but able to weight bear so that makes things much easier. He's not in much pain either. So all good. :)

Shop I can't link on phone but look at the Phillipa jumpsuit on Whistles. Black but less formal than a black dress. I think you could really rock it and it would be great for winter nights out afterwards.

Really pleased to hear that Liberty. Hope it's a swift recovery. DS was asking after his future girlfriend today! :)
Right, I had a wardrobe clear out today. Am going to move some Pins onto my EBay board so shout if anything takes your fancy.
I'll have to try the dresses again tomorrow that I have. I wanted to wear one existing dress and one new. The Sat wedding is friends, will be quite funky, lots of fun, booze and dancing. The Sun one is family, more formal - was thinking Bella for that one.
I'm watching the Britain's compulsive shoppers programme from the other night. Scary! One girl lives at home with her parents, has £7k of debt and has a large Chanel collection (but v bad taste). Another woman has 1,000 pairs of shoes!!

Good to hear it liberty!

shop I didn't see the programme, but that's made me think of a comment on the "well dressed professionals" thread about people who "shop every month" Grin well of course Good to know we're not that bad!

Glad all is ok with dh,liberty

shop I'm the last person who can offer help, I'm completely helpless when it comes to wedding attire, but I really like the dress blair linked,

So, here is part one of my AW purchases, this marant dress, very easy to wear, bit grungy, looks really great with choo bikers or marant crisi boots,

I can't believe I spent this much on this sweater, but please bear in mind I'm half Italian and we take knitwear very seriously Wink its one of the reasons I didnt get the marant sweater, love the shape but its composition of fabrics is really not justifiable to spend €€€ on it, also the shape, too bulky, and wouldve needed to get the trousers to go with it,so actually I've saved a bit Wink

And this one too , actually I was so scared of having my luggage lost or stolen when we went back home, I had this along with my chanel bag in my hand luggage,I wouldn't have survived the flight without knowing its close by, its sold out in my size everywhere and took a while to track down, involved a 40 min car trip to get it Blush but so worth it,

Shop aw your poor ds re: Victor one of my dc still loves TTE, the trains are battered and chipped but they get played with all the time, I imagine this is probably the last year we could go to Thomas Land, I'm still psyching myself up to take him there.

Morning!

Impressive shopping santa! Respect! Wink

And welcome to my world! Living abroad in a city where you have high end shops and high street shops (but no Gap, Topshop, etc) and nothing much in between.

But at least you're EU and don't have to pay customs duties!

I ordered my two C&P dresses from the Outnet but I did order a woolly hat from C&P themselves and I think p&p was ok but I can't really remember.

Santa super impressive! Such beautiful stuff.

Linus I haven't quite bought the APC coat yet because these were 40% for some reason, and I got a hurry your wishlist item is back in stock email from Matches, which of course, makes me hurry Grin

G Rossi grey suede heels.

Voguettes, dilemma!

What should I do? Keep these or buy the APC coat. CPW is very different. I have those light blue suede Rossi heels, good for summer. Am in a quandary, can you tell?

I had to of course buy them to link them here, the things we do Grin

APC or Rossi? What do you think
