There's a chill in the air as we head towards Autumn. Some of us may have jetted off to sunnier spots, some of us are lounging on yachts (kind of) but we're still going strong 44 editions in. Come and join us for fun, friendly fashion and beauty chat. All welcome, any budget. :)

Aw Marsha boot dilemma hey? I was all set thinking that my boots should do me for winter and now I'm really tempted by those boots I linked, I fancy some slouchy ish boots. Really like the Crisi boots you all have.

Shop yes I went for the grey one and quite fancied a black one but it was oos in my size so opted for the black/grey colour block one instead. I'm giving the M&S shoe boots an outing today, going to wear them to work.

Nice and sunny here which is lovely to see but work prep beckons. Sad

shopafrolic · 09/09/2014 10:38

OOo I liked that one Betty and was v tempted but went for the camel colour block one instead. Let me know how the M&S boots go for comfort - I still luffs them.

Shop I'm wearing them round the house now trying to break them in gently. Hope I don't break my neck going downstairs, they're quite high for me. I was also toying with the camel colour block one too and probably should have got it.

libertychick · 09/09/2014 14:15

Have taken a day off work to study .

Stokey I got the pale grey Gap cotton/silk mix shirt - it's lovely. I have to pop down to local Gap later to return the other things I ordered and I might get another one in navy if they have them in there.

Today's outfit - Me&Em maxi dress. Earlier I had an Oasis denim shirt layered over it and grey NB trainers when I go outside. Very comfy - wish I could go to work dressed like this Smile.

Stokey · 09/09/2014 14:32

Love that look Liberty. Good luck with the studying.

I got the pale grey too and the dark grey - not sure if I'll keep both, I need to see how they look.

santamarianovella · 09/09/2014 15:08

Those colour block sweaters are really nice, betty and shop

one now all you need is some suede cowboy boots Smile

I need to buy some plain t-shirts,and I just found a place that stocks equipment shirts so might check the plaid ones, but I'm so swamped ATM, cant even find a free morning or afternoon to go shopping!!We've moved (again)to a bigger house , and I'm waiting: for sky tv guy,Internet guy,new fridge to be installed, dh custom made L shape sofa ((as none of the ones available is up to his standards and liking back too low, armrest too stiff can't get comfortable while playing x box, Hmm ,bookshelves to be installed, garden furniture to arrive.....and breath,

Continuing our parka talk, I'm liking the cube maxmara one maraand I'm really liking the woolrich ones as they are slim fitted, but I'm not very tall 5'5 and a size 8-6 ,mostly 6 so don't want to be drowned, I tried a belstaff one in sales, and they were massively reduced but even the 6 looked huge on me, need to ponder more on that.

And to be clear,I don't own and sadly can't justify owning the saint laurent rodeo boots, not SR material I'm afraid,Grin

Drywhiteplease · 09/09/2014 17:07

Santa I'm now holding your hand in house swamp solidarity.
Builders leave in a week sob . Then I need to sort:
Decorator booked, colours chosen
Fitted wardrobes need to decide
Carpet
Curtains and blinds have fabric, need nice lady
Move furniture into new room
Rebuild old guest room furniture and put on new guest room
Deadline 15 Nov.....we have 14 to stay that weekend. Shock I'm not panicking .......yet Grin

OneLittleLady · 09/09/2014 17:28

that all sounds very stressful Dry I hope everything goes to plan. Don't forget where we are if you need to vent about any of it Smile

Fedupnagging · 09/09/2014 17:37

Santa and Dry think you both need Wine. I know a nice lady who does curtains but sadly not in your neck of the woods Dry.

Am liking the colour block jumpers that were linked last night (I think) and the GaP shirts Stokey linked. Good luck in the interview btw.

Mara those Choo boots will definitely keep the toes warm but are £££

Awk, I have an almost ankle length down coat bought from Debenhams years ago. I really don't care what I look like so long as I'm warm - have spent years watching dc's play football and rugby. Oh, and we have a dog! I am looking at a shorter version for autumn and spring. This was top of my list until I read the reviews.

This looks like it might do the job so may order. TK Maxx are usually pretty good for jackets too.

MarshaBrady · 09/09/2014 20:02

I'm kind of pleased park days will be at a minimum this winter.

Betty I have the same dilemma every AW! Waiting for some one to create the perfect ankle boot shape / not suede and not too high.

MarshaBrady · 09/09/2014 20:12

That was a loose link to the coats, I realise that not many here are doing parks either!

How's everyone's dc at school? Ds is ok, no tears, not sure why just sauntered in. But some were crying.

Novice, Shop how's it going?

QueenCardigan · 09/09/2014 20:30

All this talk of boots is leaving me desperate to wear mine. And all those new cardis I have. It's just so hot here-at least mid 20s so still in shorts!

I'll be joining you with the house woes in a month. We knew we needed some damp work doing to the living room but sadly it's much more than we hoped so the whole floor needs digging up and relaying with a damp proof course. Sadly that significantly eats into the budget so not sure that we will be able to get new fireplace or sofas. But I still need to think about floors, walls and lights (we only have wall lights) so inspire me ladies. What do you have in your living rooms? Carpets/wood floor? Neutral decor/colour?

libertychick · 09/09/2014 20:38

Cream carpets here QueenC, brown leather couch/chairs in both living areas with splashes of red (curtains and pic in one room, red rug in the other). Not the most original but it's cosy. Uplighter wall lights in one room, silver and glass effect ones in the other.

Right I am still debating footwear. My current plan is Sam Edelman black leather Petty's (work with jeans/trousers and skirts) and black and white Adidas gazelles...opinions? Leave knee highs until the sales?

libertychick · 09/09/2014 20:41

Oh should say QueenC walls are off white/cream (painted over ancient wallpaper we are afraid to touch in case the wall falls down), skirting and dado's white.

santamarianovella · 09/09/2014 20:54

Living room:Wooden floors here, still needs to sort rest of things, wall paint and curtains I have my eye on a neutral plaid rug ,and will work from there

liberty I think the Pettys are the safest option, yes leave the knee boots for later, I think its still too soon for knee boots unless your concerned they will sellout?

Drywhiteplease · 09/09/2014 21:00

QueenC caramel carpet through out house.
Like Liberty I have a deep red and cream colour scheme in my living room .fab in winter with the fire on. Dark brown leather sofa and upholstered deep red ones. Lots of dark wood furniture.

Drywhiteplease · 09/09/2014 21:01

No carpet on kitchen, hall obv...oak there

Drywhiteplease · 09/09/2014 21:08

And One sounds stressful but I love it really. In my element when I have a project and now the fun bit starts...love doing up rooms. Friends will have to take us as they find us.

libertychick · 09/09/2014 21:13

The knee highs I like are R&B Santa and I think they do them every year so not worried about selling out. Need to find somewhere I can try on Petty boots IRL...

Dry you are getting to the the end - feels like your builders have been there forever! 14 people!! Does that include you, DH and DC's? Or will you have 18 in the house? I'd be in meltdown!!!

Santa hand hold here on yet another move - hopefully this time it will be a bit more permanent. BTW am about to pm you Smile

Fedupnagging · 09/09/2014 21:23

Wood floor, black leather sofas and oak furniture in our living room. Cream and blues colour scheme. The cushions are all different and completely mismatched - made by a friend.

Lib I think the pettys will be a good investment for a/w. I would also go for knee boots earlier rather than later as wear them all the time once I dig out the winter wardrobe.

This scarf arrived today. Did you get yours yet Shop? The quality is ok but it had a funny smell so has been washed. Am looking forward to wearing it.

QueenCardigan · 09/09/2014 21:28

Your living rooms all sound gorgeous. At the moment we have deep red sofas and I do love them but kids and cats have completely ruined them.

lib black petsy sound good although I'm not convinced by black and white gazelles.

Drywhiteplease · 09/09/2014 21:32

liberty 7 kids, 7 adults plus us 4... Hopefully the dogs won't come this time Grin. I'm v calm at the moment, in denial perhaps...it will be fine. I'll pally adults myself with alcohol, kids with pasta and all will be well.....thank God for Costco. I may get a bit up twitchy at the beginning of November Grin
Still no Asos or Atterley Rd leather skirts Angry

QueenCardigan · 09/09/2014 21:41

dry we've often had another 10 adults and 8 kids to stay. The first time I tried to do everything myself which was a bit stressful and then the last couple of times I've asked people to bring puddings etc. luckily this year another friend is hosting us all instead!

libertychick · 09/09/2014 21:49

I think I am pretty much decided on the Pettys. I tried them before (suede in Matches sale last year) but didn't go for them as I thought I'd wreck the suede. I'm hesitating as they always seem to pop up on sale somewhere and it would irritate the hell of of me to pay too much Grin but then I also want them fairly soon i.e. in next 3-4 weeks - bloody retailers and their permanent discounts - adds so much stress to shopping.

Lovely scarf Fedup.

QueenC I want the Gazelles because I am still hankering over the Frugality look I linked before. And while wearing the Me&Em maxi today I was planning lots of options for it for the next few months, layering it up with various sweaters and cardis and I think they would work with that too. And Dry rocks the blue ones....

QueenCardigan · 09/09/2014 21:54

I really like the gazelles and wish they didn't look like slippers on me but there's something abut black trainers that I find a bit harsh which is why I got rid of my black converse. I do like them styled with black trousers though in that pin.

I've just realised that I haven't looked at a blog since before I went on holiday.
