There's a chill in the air as we head towards Autumn. Some of us may have jetted off to sunnier spots, some of us are lounging on yachts (kind of) but we're still going strong 44 editions in. Come and join us for fun, friendly fashion and beauty chat. All welcome, any budget. :)

Hello feel like I have been off com for a few days. Full days with the dc before school and also more work, so has been pretty busy.

Need to catch up!

MarshaBrady · 04/09/2014 18:09

Shop how is ds? I think hitting like that is just feeling overwhelmed. Ds gets upset like that if he does something like knock over the milk, then the emotions gain ground and he feels upset and frustrated. You're their for him, it will be ok. Big hug

Mara I wonder if they were the ones I have. These?

Nice Dry

MarshaBrady · 04/09/2014 18:09

christ losing it THERE!

MarshaBrady · 04/09/2014 18:11

Wow Mara they are the same, I just saw! But if not the right size, good call on not getting them

OneLittleLady · 04/09/2014 18:14

big hugs to all struggling with school.it will get better Thanks

amber good to hear from you.i hope you enjoy your year off

mara good call on the boots.if they arent perfect they arent worth it!

LinusDKD · 04/09/2014 18:58

I can really see you in that first dress dry!

mara if the boots were not 100% right you did the right thing. That £200 can be used to buy boots you really love.

amber I hope your year off will give you all the breathing space you need.

It's soooo difficult not to buy anything at the moment but I keep telling myself "wait until you're in London" Smile

Any recommendations for breakfast places? We always go to The Wolseley but maybe it's time to branch out a bit. Grin

MarshaBrady · 04/09/2014 19:01

That reminds me, I'm up for the mu on the date we said. Need to scroll back. And will think of locations!

Love these light wash skinnies and it's funny I know I've seen her before but looking at that outfit I'd guess she was a Vogue Paris editor.

It's the belt and t tuck and the slight roll and pumps

shopafrolic · 04/09/2014 19:09

What MU date?

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 04/09/2014 19:10

Down there somewhere in Dec

MarshaBrady · 04/09/2014 19:11

I haven't been looking too intently but I saw some dates. Actually maybe we should agree on one?

shopafrolic · 04/09/2014 19:12

Vague Grin
DS went to bed at 6.30pm!! DH is out at some work thing...... Woop

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 04/09/2014 19:19

Oh blimey I have to do the scroll back. It was Mara I think who said a date.

Ok I'll never get to collate, add your name here if you can make a Christmas mu? Copy and paste with name, is that a good way to go

All Saturday nights - assume that's best?

Nov 28th

Dec 6th

Dec 13th

Dec 20th

OneLittleLady · 04/09/2014 19:50

Nov 28th,Dec 6th or 13th would work for me. I can't do any later than the 13th though as Dp should be back for christmas by then

QueenCardigan · 04/09/2014 20:14

Hi ladies, not been on for a while as had a stressy day yesterday with dd at the eye hospital yesterday. She needs glasses and patch. Also feeling very underwhelmed style wise at the moment. Finding this weather of being cold initially and hot by afternoon a pita to dress for.

shop sorry that puppy has fallen through. Hope you find another. Also don't stress about ds, he'll settle.
dry look forward to seeing how the skirts are
amber good news on the job thing. And love the fact that that's not much shopping for you Grin
mara good decision on the boots

libertychick · 04/09/2014 20:56

Right let's get this started properly

Nov 28th One, Liberty

Dec 6th One

Dec 13th One

Dec 20th Liberty

I am out of the country from 6th to 13th. I could do the Friday night on those weekends I am around too if that gives more options.

Stokey · 04/09/2014 21:01

QueenC thinking of you and your DD
DD1 started wearing a patch in May and at her last check up in August, could read 2 more lines of the eye test than before. They're hoping she will be able to stop wearing it by her next appt in November so it's definitely worth it in the long run.

And hope all the school starters are coping.

No style news here. Dh is travelling and am about to watch Educating the East End which is very close to us.

QueenCardigan · 04/09/2014 21:05

I'd be a potential for the 13th but if you're doing a night time thing I'd need a kind voguette to give me b&b as I'm assuming that hotel prices at that time of year would be crazy.

BrandyAlexander · 04/09/2014 21:11

QueenC sorry to hear about your dd. Flowers

shop, sorry to hear about the puppy and hope ds gets on better.

mara, hurrah! glad to hear your dc is settling in well Envy :)

Linus, so the last two days I have had breakfast at The Wolsely and Aquashard. Food and atmoshpere of the former is amazing and the views at Aquashard also amazing - be warned do not be tempted to have dinner there though! The service is v slow in the evening!

Marsha....

Nov 29th (I have changed this to 29th as that's the saturday and think that's what One meant) One, Liberty, Novice

Dec 6th One

Dec 13th One, Novice

Dec 20th Liberty, Novice

On 3 responses, looks like an early one!

Sleepwhenidie · 04/09/2014 21:23

Oh poor little DD's with their patches Sad - I hope they do their job quickly for them.

Shop sorry to hear about the puppy. Have a nice quiet Wine this evening and try not to worry about DS, he will settle soon - ditto to Novice Flowers. DS2 is fine with reception, he knows the school so well though and is a confident little chap. What we are having already is the over emotional and irrational behaviour after school, which was a feature of the the first term for both DS1 and DD so I am braced to ride it out. It is lovely when they conk out so quickly at bedtime though Smile.

Because DS2 is now in school all day I had time this afternoon for a lovely browse around the shops before collecting DS1. Quite uninspired by Zadig (except by the £££ multi -ply cashmere stuff which is out of the question) and also Maje, other than a deeply impractical but very beautiful pale cream cardi/coat thing - hate the way they have styled it here. Question Air had some v lovely things, including this which isn't my usual style but I love it. I am also seriously considering this blazer which I only tried on to see how some jeans (the snaky ones I liked in Selfridges before the summer, now hugely reduced) looked with a jacket. It is a perfect fit and beautifully cut, the detailing on the lapels makes it a little edgier than a plain fabric. What do you think? I also tried on these beauties and didn't want to take them off - definitely something for my Christmas list!

I have added my name to dates below...

Nov 28th One, Liberty, Sleep

Dec 6th One, Sleep

Dec 13th One, Sleep (I think)

Dec 20th Liberty

maradesbois · 04/09/2014 21:27

Evening,

Thanks for boot support! The problem now is that in my head I am £200 up for not buying them...

For MU I can do:

Weekend of 6/12 Fri or Sat
Weekend of 13/12 Fri or Sat

QueenC hugs to you and dd, hope she is ok about it all. Patch sounds really effective from what Stokey said.

Marsha that pic is definitely classic Vogue Paris E Alt style, the shoes and hair etc. Normcore with a bit of something extra.

Linus I love the Wolseley too. Another good place for breakfast is Baker & Spice, think there are a few of them with cafés. Our local one is fab.

Drywhiteplease · 04/09/2014 21:40

Sleep I'm very partial to a nice piece of tailoring and a jacket that fits you like a glove, in a versatile colour will work hard in your wardrobe.....you could wear this one with everything Grin
QueenC poor dd hope she's not too bothered by it.
Being a parent is bloody hard isn't it? States the obvious
Chrismas MU would be incredible, but I just don't think I'd get away with a trip at that time of year 3 of those dates are one of our birthdaysShock

Sleepwhenidie · 04/09/2014 21:42

Mara DS2 is exactly the same as yours about dipping in and out - last night he said 'what are we going to do tomorrow?' to which I said 'you have school' - he was all 'ohhh, I went to school today...' like, 'yep, ok, I've done school, what's next?' Grin

libertychick · 04/09/2014 22:03

QueenC I have a very lazy left eye as the problem wasn't picked up in childhood and it's a total PITA. It's not nice for them to have to wear the patch but much better than not treating it.

Great jacket Sleep and love the idea of cashmere trackies - I wouldn't take them off!

Linus last weekend we had breakfast in [[http://www.murielskitchen.co.uk/restaurants/soho Muriel's Kitchen]] in Soho - really liked it although the cappuccino was slightly disappointing fussy cow

DVF dress. Beautiful and colour perfect for me but is catching across my sodding enormous thighs. I could weep though getting off my lazy arse and doing some exercise would be a lot more constructive. Skirt is also a return, the pattern is a bit funny and it looks strange on who am I kidding, fat thighs not helping here either. Back to looking at boots Sad
