There's a chill in the air as we head towards Autumn. Some of us may have jetted off to sunnier spots, some of us are lounging on yachts (kind of) but we're still going strong 44 editions in. Come and join us for fun, friendly fashion and beauty chat. All welcome, any budget. :)

In my quest for grey ankle boots I have come across these

Not sure about the grey, looks a bit brown to me but I hope to see them IRL when I'm in London.

What do you all think?

Fedupnagging · 03/09/2014 19:20

Oh dear Novice sounds like your ds is putting you through the wringer. Sad. Ds3 was very much like that at pre school except i operated a 'dump and run' policy rather than hang around but I did feel slightly guilty until I was told that ds3 stopped crying the second I went of of sight! little sod

Nice boots Linus. I like the shoe boots Shop posted earlier too.

Fedupnagging · 03/09/2014 19:35

So, have spent ages looking at Boden and decided there is not a lot I fancy.

I need a short anorak/jacket for football watching and dog walking for autumn/spring and liked this jacket until I read the reviews.

Really like this leather wrap bracelet, the other colours are good too especially the tan leopard.

Love this bag and think I could use it with pretty much any winter 'going out' outfit. I originally was going for a silver clutch but this is much nicer.

LinusDKD · 03/09/2014 20:11

Love these now all I need to do is find them IRL so I can try them on.

I think dry linked them in blue last week which I also love but I 'need' grey ones.

Love those leather wrap bracelets fedup!

LinusDKD · 03/09/2014 20:14

Oooh these are lovely as well.

LinusDKD · 03/09/2014 20:34

skater shoes shop

bettykt · 03/09/2014 20:37

Hello,

I've been lurking and not posting due to not not much buying. Bought a Ghost short sleeve grey merino sweater for work, unable to link as I can't find it online, it's very plain. As I only work part time I bought some black cheap shoe boots from Next and thought they looked fine but then Shop went and linked those M&S shoe boots which are way nicer so have ordered those and providing they fit okay goodbye Next ones.

Love the last 2 pairs of grey boots Linus I fancy some metallic silver ones.

Novice and Shop sorry you're having a tough time at drop off/pick up with your ds's Flowers how they settle in really quickly, bet they are loving it whilst they are there.

Liberty Arghh about your coat? I had a pair of woollen trousers yonks ago that the dry cleaners shrank and discoloured, I remember having to provide them with the receipt and they gave me a fraction of the cost back, has put me off dry cleaning since.

Stokey good luck with your interview.

Fedup great Boden links.

maradesbois · 03/09/2014 22:18

Evening,

Hello there Betty. Good to hear from you. Don't let lack of shopping put you off posting. Do you have any ideas for silver boots?

Hugs to Novice and Shop for school settling-in support. My ds is starting pre-school tomorrow at 8.30 and despite being put to bed on time has been told of twice for getting up and playing and is now still wide awake at 22.00 & singing away so doesn't bode well for the morning!

Linus am not too fussed on the Mint Velvet boots but like the Ash ones and love the Whistles.

Fedup Boden's brand image really irritates me but love your links, particularly the wrap bracelets. Great colours and price, go for it as you have been mentioning leather bracelets for a while!

Drywhiteplease · 03/09/2014 22:46

I may have just put on a stone Grin 3 course meal on a Wed Shock ..... Now I know how to cook and prepare lobster poor sod .... tasted great though Grin

Right.... Have fallen off the wagon and ordered this and this will report back, fully expecting to return both.

Drywhiteplease · 04/09/2014 07:42

libertychick · 04/09/2014 07:50

You will look great in the right one dry. BTW I didn't like any of the M&S navy skirts I tried.

Going into work in an actual office today for the first time in 2 weeks! Have been doing all my work from home recently. Feels weird!

shopafrolic · 04/09/2014 08:02

Morning all.
How is DH doing Liberty?
Dry Fingers crossed for the skirts.
Linus love the boot links - not sure if I can do skater shoes but looking at the blisters on my heels from walking DS to school yesterday it's clear I need some more comfortable footwear!
Wish me luck this morning. novice I hope the drop off gets easier with time. I'm not holding out much hope for DS as he always cried at nursery drop off, the difference is that nursery let me go in with him and settle him, at preschool we hand them over in the playground.
Tempted to head back to M&S this morning and get the coat as I dreamt about it last night.
And final bit of news is that the puppy has fallen through :( So I am now desperately hoping to find a Lakeland terrier bitch puppy ASAP!

shopafrolic · 04/09/2014 09:17

And this morning he slapped me in the face in front of the teachers and all the mums :( Where has my son gone?

OP posts:
LinusDKD · 04/09/2014 10:11

(((Hugs))) shop! It sounds like he's really overwhelmed with the change in his routine.

libertychick · 04/09/2014 10:43

Oh Shop hugs for you. DD has been all relaxed about nursery and the staff are coming to the house today and she announced this morning that she doesn't want to see them and if we let them in she will lock all the cupboards so they can't see her books or toys!

Sorry to hear that the puppy hasn't worked out.

DH is good thanks, still in a lot of pain from time to time - he is doing all the prescribed exercises etc but the downside is pain, physio told him that will be his reality for a few weeks but better to work through it. There are several metal pins in the knee bone so takes the body a bit of time to get used to that and he is finding it hard to sleep.

shopafrolic · 04/09/2014 10:58

Came to M&S to buy myself the coat to cheer myself up and it's bloody sold out in my size!

shopafrolic · 04/09/2014 10:58

Ouch Liberty

OP posts:
libertychick · 04/09/2014 11:23

What a PITA shop. I am passing a decent M&S in about half an hour. Will I see if I can find it there for you? What size do you want?

shopafrolic · 04/09/2014 12:20

So I got the coat! Went to another store, found it in my size. My friend had texted with a 20% off voucher too so it was less ££££. And while in store the lovely Liberty called to say she had one in her hand if I wanted it! You Voguettes are brill! Off to do pick up now - wish me luck!

santamarianovella · 04/09/2014 12:51

shop , good call on the coat! And what an amazing shopper liberty is!

Hope things get better for shopJr ,DD had an awful start at pre school, I though it would be easier for her to adjust, but she keeps asking about her friends and her teacher back home, it took some time, and lots of tears, and kicking and screaming !but now she likes it,

Big wave to everyone, no time to catch up!

AmberNectarine · 04/09/2014 13:41

Hello all

Sorry to hear tales of school woe - DS had his first morning at reception today. His report was that it was 'really, really brilliant'. However, karma will probably bite me on the arse next week when DD starts pre-school.

Not sure if I've mentioned but I've actually taken a year long career break which started last week, so I'm a full time SAHM until next Sept. Still getting used to it!

Not a huge amount of shopping to report since Discogate - had a bit of a spree at Baukjen and bought the Weston jumpsuit, bandeau top and a cobalt obi belt. Also bought an ASOS leather mini which is already getting lots of wear, the Autograph leather front leggings and a Lulu & Co sequinned sweatshirt from the Outnet. Today I popped into Gap and picked up a checked shirt in the sale and I also took delivery of a fab All Saints blazer - lucky find on EBay for a fiver after the one I had my eye on sold out. Nice t save yourself £225!

Anyway, that was all very me, me, me - will try and be a better poster now I have a bit more time!!

maradesbois · 04/09/2014 14:58

Afternoon Voguettes,

Amber, wow! Career break sounds great. I was considering the Autograph leather front leggings, haven't tried them on yet, what are your thoughts?

Dry good skirt ordering. Interested to know what you think about them all. Also brave lady for tackling lobster, I love to eat them but can't bring myself to do the 'prep'. Luckily dh has no such qualms!

Shop sounds like ds is just a bit overwhelmed by all the change to his routine and literally lashing out. Am sure he'll settle down soon.

All went ok with ds this morning but v early days, he doesn't realise its permanent rather than something you can dip in and out of as you feel like...

I had mentioned to a couple of you off thread that I was dithering over some Lanvin wedge ankle boots in tk maxx. Well I went back today, they were still there so tried on properly and decided against them. It was definitely the right decision, although they fit they would have been better a half size bigger and were still £200 so too much to blow on something not quite right. Loved the shape and the height though, perfect for daytime. Think will try some Marant ones next time in London.

maradesbois · 04/09/2014 15:01

Btw Shop glad you got the coat.

libertychick · 04/09/2014 15:08

Good call on the boots Mara. So easy to get distracted by labels and level of discount when fit etc is much more important.

Career break sounds great amber. I'd like to know what you think of the autograph leggings too.

Drywhiteplease · 04/09/2014 16:17

Shop it will get better.
Good work on the lovely coat.
Amber lots going on with you not me, me at all! we all talk about our stuff don't we.
I'm feeling slightly panicked and guilty after my leather skirt fest, at least D and R are free. Took delivery of a beautiful chunky brushed steel curtain pole with simple glass ball at the end, inordinately excited as it will look fab in my new room. Reminded me that I'm supposed to be buying house stuff not leather skirts x4 Blush Hmm
