Evening all. Sorry to hear school troubles are continuing for ds, Herbs.

Tomorrow is Leavers' Assembly for the Year 4s. Apparently, there is some kind of High School Musical theme - although I'm not supposed to know that and also a skit that has been written by ds. I am already feeling a tiny bit ill just in case his massive showy-offy and hamming-it-up-to-the-max tendencies have been allowed to run riot. You never find out until it's too late to feign illness and leave the room. I always enjoy the dcs' performances (not that dd has ever done more than one or two) much more once they are over.

After school, there will be a BBQ and prosecco-quaffing opportunity for a select few round a friend's gaff and there may be some blubbing mummies.

Herbs it won't be any consolation I know, but my theatrical, dancing, camp DS2 was bullied in primary and is flying now at secondary, so hang on in there .

I really, really ought to go to bed, but I keep thinking of things which need doing. Earlier I popped round to see my newly-divorced friend's new house, which is quite lovely, although she is the messiest person I know, so it resembles a student squat already. She has just got a new kitten, which has totally rejuvenated her ancient black labrador, so we sat watching them cutely wrestle and snuggle all evening.

The Prodigal Son returns tomorrow.....

Epic thunderstorm woke me up/kept me awake... yawn but at least it feels fresher this morning.

I was also woken by the thunderstorm, but thankfully went back to sleep. Then the alarm went off.

Thank you for all the kind words. I am unusually calm and ok with it all now. DS's Tour group is well away from the troubles and has been enjoying the desert and a night under the stars along with Bedouin hospitality. Today they are going snorkelling at the coral reef in Eilat. We have a link to regularly updated security information and all the groups are safe and enjoying their trip.
In a sleep befuddled state I woke during the epic thunderstorm and for a moment or two I thought that I was being shelled by terrorists in black masks...

Pleased to hear that all the performances went well: my DC would rather have cut off their arms than do any performing!

DSis is back at GPs because of infection in her arm after bike fall: they removed a bramble yesterday and she now has a hole in her arm.
We're also forecast thunderstorms today but actually the temperature is quite pleasant and it's not humid.

Oh that's good to know, Rose. It does sound great, by the way - DS is lucky to have the opportunity.
