Ooops, sorry, I didn't mean to finish the thread.

OP posts:
Blackduck · 07/08/2014 21:47

No I get ' is he your son' Hmm
He now gets 'who is this?' (Pointing at me)

motherinferior · 07/08/2014 22:07

Auriga, that is shocking and does explain a lot. Rose, yeehah indeed!Hmm

Oddly enough nobody has ever questioned either DP's or my ownership of the Inferiorettes. It is entirely possible that they realise nobody would claim them who didn't have to.GrinGrin

motherinferior · 07/08/2014 22:18

And/or possibly DP and I radiate solid respectability. How depressing.Hmm

NUFC69 · 07/08/2014 22:21

Yes, I have that with my two, MI. It is just accepted that they belong to DH. And even though they are different sexes, from behind they were almost identical. DD's son looks just like his uncle as a toddler - obviously DH has very strong genes.

Herbs, what have you done? I have just downloaded Hay Day - at least DH won't be complaining about Candy Crush for a while.

I'm rather taken aback by Auriga's signature forging - didn't expect that.

BTM, we visit somewhere similar in Arizona - lovely place in Sedona.

Congratulations, Rose, you must be thrilled.

Decorator has finished so we now have the house back: such a relief.

CointreauVersial · 07/08/2014 22:22

No, we've never had our parenthood questioned either. Mind you, we've never taken them anywhere beyond the EU; they barely glance at the passports. And we conveniently all have the same surname.

MollyAir · 07/08/2014 22:25

I do look shifty in airports. Because any transport terminal scares me half to death, and huge police toting huge guns make me feel like I have indeed committed a horrible crime and am likely to be locked up forever.

Auriga · 07/08/2014 22:39

Sorry, cross-posted. Many congratulations Rosebag, and well done mini-BD.

Just watched Bake-Off from yesterday, in some trepidation because DM said it wasn't as good as usual. I thought it was exactly as expected Grin and the German guests loved it.

They also loved Hever and I've never seen it looking lovelier. Could hardly bear to tear myself away; the light on the water, the weeping willows, the scent of roses. DM overjoyed by it all, including the car journey (through ridiculously pretty Kentish lanes). She walked at least a mile and a half and still had some energy left over.

QueenQueenie · 07/08/2014 22:52

Sounds idyllic Auriga!
Sounds idyllic BTM!

Well done Master BD!
Well done Rosebag!

Feel like I've survived a rather stressful week - juggling kitchen reconstruction / ds1's identity doc problems Hmm / problems re a conference I am involved in organising in September...

But am off to lovely Suffolk tomorrow. Hurrah!

Plan to swim in the sea every day, read lots of books, play lots of board games, eat lobster, lie around in a hammock... I think that's all.

QueenQueenie · 07/08/2014 22:52

And thanks for the nudge Auriga. Now watching GBBO on iplayer...

bigTillyMint · 07/08/2014 22:55

Thats lovely that your DM enjoyed it. Hope she dosent have legs as stiff as mine tomorrow! Actually its no joke as DH is desperately trying to get us to go kayaking tomorrow and I want to postpone till Sat because of the state of my legs. AIBU?

bigTillyMint · 07/08/2014 22:57

I am going to lie in a hammock once Ive washed my hair QQ!

QueenQueenie · 07/08/2014 23:12

BTM YWNBU to never do anything strenuous ever again IMO. I'd stay in the hammock if I were you...

CointreauVersial · 07/08/2014 23:55

QQ - sounds like a perfect break; have a lovely time.

I love GBBO - the DDs and I were glued to last night's episode. Maybe it's because I'm low-carbing again; if I can't eat cake I can at least watch it. Grin

Gearing up for another busy weekend - I can't believe I've got to get the suitcases out again. We are off to the Midlands for a family birthday BBQ on Saturday (hoping to get DDad's punt out on the Avon if the weather is OK). Then we drive down to DM's in Buckinghamshire on Sunday for the annual family garden party. Fingers firmly crossed that Hurricane Bertha doesn't gatecrash to spoil our fun.

Anyway, there will be much rushing around, but over the course of the weekend I will catch up with all four parents (full and step), four out of my five siblings (step and half), together with countless offspring. That should see me through to Christmas. Grin

bigTillyMint · 08/08/2014 01:25

CV box tickedWink

Have been reading in a hammock, DH now has his sights set on another volcanoShock He says we can go up in a carHmm

NUFC69 · 08/08/2014 06:36

BTM, tell DH that when you have been to the top of one volcano you have done them all ... On the other hand, kayaking sounds good fun.

I have the house to myself this morning; DH is going off with his cycling mates for the day. I will attempt, yet again, to buy a dress, then DD is coming round with the GC this afternoon.

MontserratCaballe · 08/08/2014 06:51

Hello Crepeys Smile

Gosh, what a lot of chat! Glad I am up early before the hoardes appear, demanding food, snacks, tying up of sylvannian families, swimming goggles etc. We are going on holiday tomorrow and I have got to do everything today. Oops. Feel a bit hassled. DH just asked what I was doing today and when I told him said, "oh, that sounds nice". I think sitting behind a desk gently sipping coffee and writing articles sounds more fun than packing fro 5 people, sorting car insurance, swimming courses etc but hey.

MI, your passport saga is beyond a joke. The incompetence of those people! I cannot believe the hoops they are making you jump through. Once it is safely in your hands and after you have been away, is it worth an official complaint do you think? Lalsy, my children too have a different surname from me but I am just waved through with them. I went out in Brixton on Wednesday night and couldn't even see groups of people selling drugs, let alone get offered them. I am clearly allowing my sainsbury's clothing to afford me protection....

Auriga, that is very sad about the forged docs. How awful for the child. I am glad that the passport office seem to be on the case for this at least. Bit worrying that you have inadvertently become involved though. I wonder how that happened.

CV, well done on the lady jog. I have failed to conduct anything today. However, I will take my trainers on holiday. Might be a useful opportunity for peace and quiet.

I am intrigued by the footner. I love foot products. Let us know if it works. Does it take your nail polish off as well? I bought one of those scraping things for my foot in the winter (with the blades that come off) and it was so effective I cut my foot getting so much hard skin off. Too tempting. Footner sounds like a good, if slightly unglamorous, alternative.

BTM, your holiday sounds amazing. very envious of the walk. What is Greneda like? Hope you are having a fab time. What's the food like? I love hearing about what people are eating.

beachy, the life drawing sounds wonderful, although I can imagine being a bit embarrassed by a fully naked fellow at that age and not wanting to draw the full orchestra! I probably would have been so shy I would have averted my eyes. Does DD have plans to go to art college or is this just a hobby?

Rosebag, huge Grin for your good news. And your DS1 will be home next week. Double hurray! I think it was the right decision not to go to the funeral and you will be able to look after your friend with cooking etc once you are home.

NU, so glad the decorator has finished and you have the house back. What have you had done? Are you pleased with the result?

BD, well done for DS on his biking! Fantastic!

Auriga, I love Hever and am so glad you had a fab time with your mum. Was the water maze in action? My children love that. The walk round the lake is gorgeous isn't it? They often have jousting tournaments etc on at the weekend which makes a change for the kids.

QQ, your holiday plans sounds ideal. Will you escape the worst of the kitchen renovation by being away? How long is it due to take? Hope all the identity proving is now resolved.

GBBO - I thought it was great. Just like I expected. Mel and Sue on fine form. They should bring them back on Late lunch. That was such a good show.

CV, I am half heartedly low carbing but need to get back on it. The week we go on holiday is probably not the best time to diet but I can at least avoid going wild and putting on half a stone of wine and chips.

Right, shower beckons then the first of my thousand jobs for the day. Have a good one and fingers crossed for the passport's safe arrival Smile

Rudy, were you the crepey who bought the figleaves bikini? If so, huge thanks as I was inspired by your purchase and bought a figleaves tankini which is fab! Manages to control my huge boobs and elevate them to a normal height rather than way down low in their usual swimsuit position. Glad you are enjoying Italy. Where exactly are you? Glad too that you have more time to think through options with your mum and don't have to rush.

Enjoy the rest of your holidays.

Auriga · 08/08/2014 09:14

Rudy, hope the better scan results and the good work meeting mean you can really enjoy your holiday in Italy and recharge properly.

NUFC69 · 08/08/2014 09:20

Rudy, now that is good news about DM. I hope you have a great time in Italy - plenty of relaxation and a little bit (lot) of vino, I think.

MC, we had the outside of the house painted (and all the old paint stripped off) so nowhere was immune from the dreaded paint dust). So glad to have the house workmanless again.

motherinferior · 08/08/2014 09:30

Oh, Rudy, what very very good news. And I'm so pleased about the meeting too.

Auriga, I do completely take your point about the checks for the passport; but I am still steaming. Apparently copying in the person who originally emailed the MP's assistant was Wrong (according to the copy-inner, who said stuffily this wasn't an address 'for applicants') and any comment about surnames is 'unnecessary and unhelpful'. Just pull your finger out, mate, you've had the damn thing for months. And stop trying to feel important.

(I didn't send him those last two sentences. I do have some sense of self-preservation!)

Monty, I am now going to sip coffee and write articles. Grin

Blackduck · 08/08/2014 09:53

Rudy, that is good news! Enjoy your break.

MI - some people are just a bit up themselves aren't they?! (say's she who deals with such self importance on a regular basis) Hope it gets sorted, but agree with MrsS a renewal surely shouldn't be that difficult.....

Here I have a patio that looks like a bomb has hit it, but the back garden is looking lovely!

Blackduck · 08/08/2014 10:07

Ohh and BTM I agree with whoever said 'seen one volcano, seen 'em all' :) Hammock, good book, cold beer - see you later dcs/dh....

motherinferior · 08/08/2014 10:47

S&B news again: have blagged received tube of Embryolisse cream, cult fave blah blah blah, will report back in due course.

Feet still exactly the same, however.

Am trying to track down someone who said blithely oh yes they'd be interviewed, but refused to give anything like contact details...

MrsSchadenfreude · 08/08/2014 11:36

Excellent news Rudy!

Shock Auriga. To be fair, we used to insist on a work phone number, and the switchboard number, not a direct dial extension or home phone number.
(This was pre-mobile days.)

We got DD1's health cert sorted. Grin Very helpful and thorough doctor, will use him next time. Now need to pack for holiday. DD2 was up until 0200 drawing, and is decidedly crabby this morning, not least because she was woken by the postman who had an Amazon delivery for me.
