Ooops, sorry, I didn't mean to finish the thread.

Hello crêpes !
Just jumping on to say hello. Dd is doing much better. The shrink has given her little mental exercises todo every day and given her a book on mindfulness which is full of positivity and self awareness type stuff.
Anyway we feel confident enough to go away for a few days. Heaven knows we all need a break.
Til next time lovelies . Personally feeling like a full on hag following tooth extraction on Tuesday. Have a cheek swollen up like a balloon and black bruising up face. Also still limping with the sciatica. Hmm not v pretty. LolGrin never mind. Were ok which is what matters.

Cremo. Onwards and upwards. Flowers

MrsSchadenfreude · 08/08/2014 12:16

I went to Iceland (shop, not country) this morning. Tea bags were bargainous, so stocked up. I didn't see any prawn rings though - maybe they only appear at Christmas?

NUFC69 · 08/08/2014 12:30

Crem, how lovely to hear from you and with good news, too. Enjoy your break away - you all deserve a treat.

I am quite fussy about my tea, MrsS; only Ringtons for me, delivered to the door up here. I can't remember when I last went into Iceland; I am plucking up courage to go into Farmfoods.

I am still feeling happy which is a bit of a surprise bearing in mind that I have Leonard Cohen playing in the car!

MrsSchadenfreude · 08/08/2014 12:35

Crem, have a fab few days away, and hope bruising goes down quickly.

Blackduck · 08/08/2014 12:44

Hi Cremo

MontserratCaballe · 08/08/2014 12:54

MrsS, I love Iceland for staples like tea, sugar and ice cream. My lot are on an ice cream a day at the moment a d they are v cheap. Don't think I would buy their meat though.

Hello crem, I am one if the newest Crepeys. Sorry to hear about your tooth. Hope you have a restful time away.

Children watching Barbie and the Diamondcastle which is one of her better ones. I remember watching it with dd1 when I was 8 months pregnant and she had pneumonia. Lots of unsubtle advice about friendship and loyalty, topped off with some rousing Brahms at the end. They are engrossed. I am going to muck out the car in advance of packing it up for our trip tomorrow.

MollyAir · 08/08/2014 12:59

Hello, Crem, I'm another of the newbie Crepeys. Smile

CointreauVersial · 08/08/2014 13:20

Crem! That's really positive news about DD, and good to hear you are getting away (even if you are limping and look like you've been punched). Enjoy the rest, you so deserve it.

MrsS - I've never been to Iceland - do they even have them in Middle Class Surrey (sniff)? Wink

Rudy - Italy - how lovely. We went several times when the DCs were younger, always to the same house just outside Lucca. The DCs get very misty-eyed when we talk about it. Where are you?

DD1 just phoned from the local Budgens to tell me they don't have any clotted cream for her ice cream recipe. Hmm So it would appear they are having an unsupervised cookery session. I am fully expecting to find my kitchen looking like an explosion in a Walls factory when I get home.

motherinferior · 08/08/2014 13:21

I am getting used to this living on my own lark, and remembering just how much I used to love it. Grin

DP informs me the Inferiorettes and the other kids have been climbing out on to the school roof. "We've had to set some boundaries," he said. I feel remarkably unperturbed by all this, even though I'm actually phobic about heights and won't go over normal bridges on foot. It may, of course, be my newly rediscovered habit of going out with friends and eating and drinking and generally enjoying myself is clouding my Maternal Priorities.

In passport news, no news. Except to hear that no, a scanned letter won't count and it has to be the Real Thing. Even when we are being total pains in the arse and presumably they just want to get rid of us for ever....

bigTillyMint · 08/08/2014 13:27

Rudy, thats great newsSmile And Cremo tooSmile though tooth extraction and sciatica not so good.

MrsS did you go down my way for Iceland or waa the trip in aid of something else?

My legs are still as stiff as boards, so I am hoping that DHs revised plan for a boat trip today comes good They are all fine of courseEnvy

bigTillyMint · 08/08/2014 13:36

Am feeling veryEnvy at talk of tea. Though the Nicaraguan coffee is actually very good, as is the beer! I have been eating a lot of eggs (which I am not very keen of and never eat at home!) and pancakes and freshly made juice + coffee for breakfast. Lunching on salads/nachos/sandwiches, etc and dinner is mainly grilled beef/pork/chicken/fish with various sauces/salads/chips/rice. All organic food when we were on the island!

MrsSchadenfreude · 08/08/2014 14:10

BTM - we went to the one on Lower Marsh, post doctor, who was at Waterloo.

NU - I used to get my toilet paper from Farm Foods (quilted, called "Nicky") and they use the same one in a lot of top hotels and restaurants. V v cheap and v good.

I think shops like FF and Iceland are fine for basics and branded goods, we also got some Bird's Eye fishfingers and peas for lunch. Have never heard of Rington's tea - I like Typhoo, which was on offer and ridiculously cheap.

motherinferior · 08/08/2014 14:29

BTM Envy

bigTillyMint · 08/08/2014 15:10

So MrsS, what were you doing in Peckenaam?!

Have a lovely tripette Crem.... Hope it works well.

Today was my last day 'on my own' till 8th September Hmm

The children are bring gathered in from their courses. I am in East Sussex collecting the 'boy who has been in a forest for a week!' It's raining.... I foresee a bad smell in the car going home and probably a stop at McD....

I will wave at Rosebag on my way home Smile

bigTillyMint · 08/08/2014 16:25

Italy sounds luffly Rudy. Not so the bad dmell Beachy!

CointreauVersial · 08/08/2014 16:47

We are offloading the DDs onto PGL for five days, starting Monday, and I'm rather hoping for some grown-ups-only meals out, cinema trips etc. Assuming DS makes himself as scarce next week as he has this week....

The kitchen was still standing when I got back - they even managed to use the blender without severing any digits - and there is strawberry balsamic ice cream, and chocolate chip cookies to sample later. I will, of course, exercise moderation, seeing as I still have four pounds of holiday podge to shift. Hmm

CointreauVersial · 08/08/2014 17:24

MI - I see the Boarding School thread is still raging . They've moved onto Safeguarding...Confused

Rosebag · 08/08/2014 17:58

My wifi at the flat has been down! We use openzone, so can be a bit dodgy!
Need to catch up...
BD lovely news re your DSs bike achievements!

CV MI enjoy your adult time. It's precious. Yours truly has had only one day of it ( spa day this week) since DS2 went on study leave in May. I am climbing the walls.

Rudy enjoy the lovely Italy. So pleased that things are looking a bit better re your DM and that there was a positive work meeting. Now relax....

Ahh Cremo that does feel more optimistic. Thanks to you and yours and hope that the break does you all the power of good.

Monty where are you off to on your hols? I used to clean the car always before we went away when mine were small. I don't know why I bothered...it was always a nuclear zone by the time we came back. Smile

Tilly food sounds good where you are. Sorry legs are still painful. Sometimes you just have to go on strike. Get back in to the hammock this minute ! Grin

Beachy we are off home tomorrow to prepare for DS2's return and then I've got five days to get ready for Canada. We must try to get together when I'm next down....tea in Arundel or Chichester maybe?

Thanks for all the messages of congrats re my play. Herbs yes...co scriptwriter is a bit hard work sometimes....primarily because he's a bit flaky about meetings and cancels on me a lot. Angry and he's a bit of a passive aggressive! and I'm more of the confrontational variety, which makes for sparks sometimes....but a lot of creative energy as well. We are an unlikely alliance...he was a client of mine originally so there's a bit of rehearsal of roles. Any way we have to get on with it now and write some more scenes as Emerging Writers Week is in February. YIKES Shock

Rosebag · 08/08/2014 18:25

Rehearsal??? Reversal I meant...

bigTillyMint · 08/08/2014 19:11
