Good luck Marsha.

maradesbois · 07/04/2014 10:01

Morning all,

Back from weekend break and its raining at home too, only a week until we head south though...holiday wardrobe to get out. Been doing a bit of catching up over my morning espresso:

blair love your new skirt, gorgeous colours and style. You'll definitely get a good cpw in the long run! Can see I need to branch out from the outnet as think it sold out straight away there last week. Just love that site though, wrote them a glowing review after my last purchase. Not something I normally bother with but they just get everything right imo.

santa did you get a bikini? I'm another fan of violet lake, quality is excellent. You mentioned vix too, have never bought anything, their swimwear looks good but the dresses/cover ups etc all seem to be mmf which puts me off. I'd also see you in eres, I have the bikini with the bandeau top, love it.

dry love the blue oasis skirt you bought. If I may make a comment though & don't take this the wrong way...when I joined this thread you were saving for your disco (cue well thought out & less frequent purchases). Now your shopping appetite seems voracious to the point you want to buy... plastic shoes !!! Smile

Haven't got to yesterday's st style yet, don't buy the paper anymore as the style of journalism irritates me but my dad keeps the mags for me (unless dsis gets in there first!) sleep* was reading some of your advice on the healthy eating thread, love the non-diet diet thoughts its pretty much what have been trying to do myself the past few weeks ie lots of chickpea salads, smoked salmon & scrambled eggs, less sugar etc. After a weekend of huge carb-heavy hotel breakfasts etc I actually can't wait to eat well again and not feel sluggish.

maradesbois · 07/04/2014 10:03

marsha good luck, hope you get the work, outfit sounds good and weather appropriate!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 07/04/2014 10:24

mara thank you! I saw it in stock on the outnet (am an early bird!) but hesitated as a pencil skirt wasn't on my s/s list - then it was gone and I couldn't stop thinking about it. I hope the one I got fits as according to Yoox it is a size 12 but it's an IT42, I went on the outnet measurements who say that it's a 10.
Agree they just get everything right. I did a recent survey for them on sizing information and gave them lots of praise. My-wardrobe now measure every garment as well too though.

Marsha it's too late now but I am wearing tights. Not that you can see them as I'm wearing long culottes with these knee high boots. Feeling toasty on this miserable day! Hope it goes well for you.

Dry it's got to be worth a try for £12, even if you find you can't wear them on the hottest days or when you're doing much walking. Everyone needs a cheeky bargain now and then :)

Stokey · 07/04/2014 10:28

Lovely skirt Blair , definitely worth it.
Turq am a big fan of Sea Folly, my Mum lives in OZ and I get her to bring me a bikini when she comes over.

As soon as I saw the denim shifts in the ST, I thought of your Boden one Dry - they really are stalking us.

Are you really contemplating ditching tights Marsha? I'm working from home today and have just put my portable radiator on- it's freezing.

Am having one of those seaonal transitional times where I'm finding it hard to prioritise what I need to buy.

I want some pointy flats, tops that I can wear for work with skirts/trousers, a dress for wedding in 2 weeks, a pencil skirt (though am very tempted by Dry's Oasis one), a couple of summer cardies and a summer jacket. Oh and maybe an everyday work bag and a posh small one for summer event season.

It's too much!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 07/04/2014 10:38

Stokey... you need a spreadsheet Grin

Drywhiteplease · 07/04/2014 10:43

Grin Blair

You're so right but dh is spreadsheet obsessed, & I think one per family is enough

BrandyAlexander · 07/04/2014 10:52

OMG! OMG! Do you remember when we moved and the removal man found my ahem toys?Blush Well I booked the same removal company to clear our rooms for the decorators. My thinking was huge removal company, we had 12 men on the day, no way he will be there today. I open the door this morning and it's him. He's a lovely cheeky chappy and says 'ello treacle. Now you 'ain't left any little battery operated things for us to fine have you!. Who knew my face could get that hot?BlushBlushBlush

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 07/04/2014 11:19

Haha novice you must have made a real impression Grin

Drywhiteplease · 07/04/2014 11:45

novice that's fantastic! Grin

OP posts:
maradesbois · 07/04/2014 12:16

novice oh no! Always the way when you'd rather avoid someone!

dry ha ha! I probably over think my purchases though, the thought of having too much stuff stresses me as know I won't wear it all. Strange I know.

blair Italian 42 is defo a 10. Stella always adds on a size don't know why. I'm a 12 and italian 44.

Annianni · 07/04/2014 12:17

Novice :o

Stokey · 07/04/2014 14:45

Lol Novice - he sounds like a bit of a flirt!

Quite like this gold clutch alternative

And have managed to buy 3 dresses & a top from Asos in my ongoing search for wedding outfit (although just replacing the Erdem which I sent back today so not real money).

Drywhiteplease · 07/04/2014 14:48

Went to Next to try shoes, order not arrived, it's a sign .
Have just tried to work out the mathematical enigma that is my visa bill. I just can't keep up with all of the returns. From now on I'm focussing on buying one quality item a month heard this before Mara you must keep me focused.

Dp and I have been talking and he's promised that when I graduate (whenever that may be, depending on when I manage to get into uni) he's going to take me to New York Grin just a little extra incentive for me to work hard I think

MarshaBrady · 07/04/2014 14:59

Am home to dh and ds playing monopoly. How nice is that, taking a break from being the main person and walking in to other people doing the cc.

It went ok I think, might be too expensive So that part is not my decision really.

I quite like dipping in and out of the office. I sat there for max half an hour and I couldn't believe how quiet it was. I feel like I'm itching to jump out of myself in a room full of desks, computer and silence.

Thanks for good lucks! I am so, so glad I didn't splurge on that outfit, it didn't matter at all.

I love the whole taxi, espresso thing though. Great to do that every so often.

Drywhiteplease · 07/04/2014 15:15

Tell DS under NO circumstances to sell Mayfair , never!never sell Mayfair .
Were you pitching Marsha?

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 07/04/2014 15:23

Lol Grin I swear ds gets me by always getting Mayfair and Park Lane or the four stations - actually that makes me weep more I love a station.

Yes, with a team. I took my intelligence specs Wink.

santamarianovella · 07/04/2014 15:23

dry I totally agree with getting one good thing than 5 items you will get rid of easily,

mara I'm still looking,I had a look at eres, but the smallest ones on NAP are 38 ,I need 36 for top,I can't go out to shop or try,DD is with fever, and very cranky,so my only option is to order from NaP or matches, too scared to get anything from shopbop as I need to try at least two sizes, and we leave next week so time is a bit short, feel I've bored everyone with my swimwear dilemma Blush,

novice Grin

stokey , i feel the same,my matches wish list is very long now! But a word of advice, I always start with one outfit, never sepreates ,that way I have one complete look i know i will wear,if I start buying a top or jacket and think I will find something to wear it with then I end up thinking to much about it,buying stuff to go with it,and just hating it by the time I get to wear it. Don't know why!

marsha good luck Smile

That's great one

MarshaBrady · 07/04/2014 15:26

Novice that is so funny. Treacle makes me laugh anyway. I saw a day in the life of... A delivery man in The Guardian the other day. He said he was used to finding funny objects. Perhaps it was your guy Grin

MarshaBrady · 07/04/2014 15:27

Santa Eres would be perfect, what a shame about the sizes.

Annianni · 07/04/2014 15:33

Santa do NaP or Matches have the same styles as Shopbop?
Could you order from them just to try?
Then order from Shopbop the minute you know your size?
