Come and join us for friendly fashion chat. Some of our glasses are empty because we're trying to loose weight, but were still happy, non judgemental, flippant and welcoming lot. We love new visitors (ESP Shop who will hug you)

They have a very difficult life don't they? I can't imagine runway modelling being glam anymore,it looks really extreme, and super exhausting.

I spent over two hours shopping for a bikini and I couldn't find a single one I like, guess will check shopbop, but don't want to spend full price yet! Sad only got one mara Hoffman pair, and I need another before we leave on the 15th.

Drywhiteplease · 05/04/2014 18:38

Yikes!
Right trying to sort my holiday capsule wardrobe....started off quite capsule, until I keep adding....now it's just a wardrobe Hmm still I have 5 days to pack.
Mid teens up to 20 degrees.....I feel the cold, that is t shirt weather right? Or is that over 20? Hmm

Ouch indeed. I've seen photos somewhere in the press of close ups of models feet during fashion weeks - open cuts, blisters & bruising. Not glam at all.

I have just popped this orange coat into my basket. WIT raved about it and I've been waiting for it to go into the sale. I'm hoping to save it for next autumn...but based on the temps here today it may get an early debut.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 05/04/2014 18:42

Hi all, hope everyone's had a nice Saturday.

Thanks for the comments on the dress, I actually bought it for work Blush but you've given me ideas I hadn't thought of!

Not even going to think about socks with heels, would be supremely unflattering on me! That Prada pic looks painful.

liberty love the WC dress, looks really versatile.

And novice nice shopping, agree the skirt is more grown up than a plain skater, it's lovely.

Drywhiteplease · 05/04/2014 18:47

Yes liberty I love the WC dress....

dry it will still be cold,,I would pack light sweaters and maybe a couple of tees, for layering,

Sleepwhenidie · 05/04/2014 18:57

You may need a hoodie Dry Wink

Sleepwhenidie · 05/04/2014 18:58

Santa what was the issue with the rejected bikinis? What are you looking for re style/colour?

Ujjayi · 05/04/2014 18:59

Dry definitely pack for layering. I feel the cold and would think about light knits & perhaps long sleeve tees.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 05/04/2014 19:06

X post dry, agree with the others about layering, I would be thinking about the evenings as I feel the cold. And a couple of pairs of socks because cold feet are the worst, you never know when you might need them. Sorry to be so unexciting!

That coat is such a gorgeous colour Ujjayi. Did you get it? It's showing as OOS now so hope you did :)

santamarianovella · 05/04/2014 19:14

sleep I wanted to try this or something similar, but couldn't find it anywhere, most of the swimwear was hedious, everything looked old lady going to Florida, too much gold accessories, bright sparkly kaftans,

Ujjayi · 05/04/2014 19:17

Blair yes I did. I just hope it is vibrant and not rusty looking.

Speaking of Topshop, Kate Moss has a new collection out on 30 April. Any sneak peeks around yet?

Ujjayi · 05/04/2014 19:19

Santa that bikini is gorgeous. Lovely hue. Good luck in finding it.

SecretSquirrel13 · 05/04/2014 19:30

Liberty I love that dress glad you got a code.
Santa that bikini is a gorgeous colour.
Dry I am good at holiday capsule wardrobes- how long for and what are your 3 or 4 capsule colours?
15-20 is t shirt with something over it like little jacket/denim jacket/light sweater unless you are bear the coast then would need more due to the wind.
Splurged on some new running stuff today, will not bore you all with links!

SecretSquirrel13 · 05/04/2014 19:31

Ps socks with heels oh it looks so comfy but not a look for me.

maradesbois · 05/04/2014 19:59

Hello all,

ujj glad you've (re) joined the thread. Love the colour and shape of the orange ts coat. Lots of orange around here at the moment, v nice but don't think it's a colour that suits my colouring. Mind you I only realised I could do yellow last summer and now love it...

blair and liberty good simple dresses, both will get loads of wear. Stylish wardrobe essentials.

Re socks and heels nooo! Agree can look fab on young model on shoot but in rl looks a bit try hard I think.

Having a fab family weekend away, far north and weather rubbish but sitting by the fire with ds reading stories, great food & wine and even outdoor swimming in the rain (in very warm heated pool!)

Out for dinner tonight, going to wear Vivienne tam dress, black thick jersey short skirt with cream silk short sleeved top half & black jimmy choo pointy heels & mikimoto pearls. Have also decided am ditching tights now its april, hate the things! Will have to buy some Clarins tanning cream next week though to take legs up a shade to off white if I'm lucky.

AmberNectarine · 05/04/2014 20:30

Ooh yes please to running stuff links Secret!

AmberNectarine · 05/04/2014 20:33

Have you tried Violet Lake for swimwear santa - I'm a big fan.

Sleepwhenidie · 05/04/2014 20:40

I'd like to see the running stuff too no surprise to anyone Smile.

I second Violet Lake too, I like triangle bikinis but far too often the back of the bottoms is far too insubstantial, VL has a decent amount of coverage and colours/fabric are great.

MarshaBrady · 05/04/2014 20:42

I can't do very skimpy bikini bottoms. I like the brief style and triangle top.

Love that one Santa the colour especially.

OneLittleLady · 05/04/2014 20:45

DP is on an overnight flight tonight and will be back by lunchtime tomorrow, a week alone is enough for me though there's been considerably less washing to do and there's an unexpected excess of toilet paper left over Grin

Love everyone's links, none of my own currently as I haven't really been buying anything. I've enough clothes to see me through my current weight stage so I don't want to buy too much in case I lose anymore and then end up with a wardrobe full of stuff that doesn't fit.

A little birdie told me that the course leader for the degree course I've applied for is excited and enthusiastic about me joining so I'm hoping it's a good omen and I'll get some news soon!

MarshaBrady · 05/04/2014 20:45

Sounds lovely Mara gorgeous outfit.

Dry sounds like it could be cool. Go for light jumpers and ts etc

Sleepwhenidie · 05/04/2014 20:51

Yay One, so excited for you! Smile

santamarianovella · 05/04/2014 21:04

I will give VL, a try,my issue is the top,its always loose,VIX looked baggy on me, I can't find nice bikini tops for small boobs,

That's good one !

libertychick · 05/04/2014 21:12

Great news one Fingers crossed for you.

Mara your outfit sound gorgeous and as I hadn't heard of them before I went off and googled mikimoto pearls more lovely things I have only just realised I need Smile
