Come and join us for friendly fashion chat. Some of our glasses are empty because we're trying to loose weight, but were still happy, non judgemental, flippant and welcoming lot. We love new visitors (ESP Shop who will hug you)

Cor are you all still wearing long sleeves for running - I ditched them a while ago, I just get sooo hot. Feeling frustrated this morning as I've done something to my back and shoulders so couldn't do my long run. Grrrrr.

MarshaBrady · 06/04/2014 09:12

Me too. I only wear leggings under shorts in the depth of winter and even then I end up taking off my jumper.

MarshaBrady · 06/04/2014 09:16

I always take too much. I used half of what I took to Aus. I end up gravitating to the most easy to use thing - in this case it was the Filippa K dress.

Although where I go is remote, it doesn't matter much outside the family lunches etc. If I was going to eg NYC I would probably pack differently and want an excuse to use some of my nicest stuff.

Drywhiteplease · 06/04/2014 09:24

Right, inspector Dry is at work! I give you the evidence:

White trousers (Saturday Times Mag) skinny and wide legged...linked on here earlier this week
Style Mag......socks with heels spooky , Oliver Bonas linked by liberty, nail colour is Blue thanks STJ denim shift dresses,

They're watching!

I'm rubbish at packing too. So no tips sorry!
Novice the skirt looks nice, how will you style it? I think if you re not too tall you can wear it better, I m tall and find skater skirts or dresses with skater style look 'childish' or indecently short and therefore silly on me (the waist usually sits way too high on me too) so I just can't do them!
Great dress lib! Hopefully the AR returns are speedy eh!
I had a giggle about the NZ aus comments too. I loved NZ - worked there for a year, love it and made some fabulous friends. But it was COLD! Avd they don't do housing insulation or heating very well.
Loved Australia - climate, outdoor lifestyle, and once you settle you get used to the fashion, there are some great fashion stores and options but I agree the quality of some of the high st stuff wasn't great. I would move back in a heartbeat though

I bought this last week for summer holidays the top is halter bikini though not the one in the pic above. I meant to say loved your hoodie purchase, I d get lots of use out of it post gym etc!

One glad your dinner party went well. You must feel good about being so independent for the week while dh was gone! Hope you get your course. How are the singing lessons going?

Secret I ve just signed up for a 10k. Do you run much ? I m not much of a runner but will train for this I think.
Hi to uujai (sp!)

Drywhiteplease · 06/04/2014 09:36

Turq love that bikini......
Amber I wear the London sleeves to GO to the gym, it comes off pretty quickly.
Perhaps I'll switch the leather jacket for a trench don't really like my trench, something odd with the collar makes me feel like Elvis

"Long sleeves"

And I really want Belinda AWO's Aldo Dobrus nude
Asymetric flats but can't find them anywhere....last season?

OP posts:
Drywhiteplease · 06/04/2014 09:40

Ahem...that would be asymmetric of course

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 06/04/2014 09:42

No idea I'm afraid. Can you ask on the blog?

MarshaBrady · 06/04/2014 09:45

Turq I got into all those Aussie brands in my early 20s. Saba etc. I loved doing the Chapel St shop from top to bottom, I can remember the order of the shops.

AmberNectarine · 06/04/2014 10:06

Turq I'm doing a couple of 10ks next month and a half in October. Started running in January and I've been quite happy with the progress. When's your 10k?

SecretSquirrel13 · 06/04/2014 10:16

Amber and Marsha re sleeves I live in a cold and windy part of the country, still wearing double layers at the moment. I did my long run this morning- almost at full distance now for a half that I'm doing May bank holiday. Feel about 85 now, need an hour on the sofa!

MarshaBrady · 06/04/2014 10:21

Well done Squirrel!

MarshaBrady · 06/04/2014 10:21

Or Secret, perhaps. Grin

BrandyAlexander · 06/04/2014 10:23

Morning all! Random thoughts on yesterday's thread....!

Dry, I always pack waaay too much - no advice from me!Grin

Those holiday pins are fab Lib.

Santa that bikini is sooo gorgeous! Tempted for our summer holiday.

Ujjayi, those shorts are very flattering. I only wanted the white but the sales assistant persuaded me to try the black and white print while I looked at her like she had 2 heads! SAs are just so fantastic in the US, very attentive and will suggest things out of your comfort zone. I love shopping there.

I loved the orange oversized coat, but have stayed away from them. I think Victoria Beckham who is normal height (I think) and slim carries them off really well, I think I would look like playing at grown upGrin

Oh and sock and heels thing just made me shudder.

I looked in horror at the running gear. I get soooo hot. I think I would actually pass out. There was a thread a couple of years ago slating people who don't wear very much in the gym. I smiled. I usually wear Nike crop top in a variety of colours and small nike or Adidas shorts. When I do road running, then I chuck on a v thin vest over. Or when I am in a gym overseas.

....That's it!!

I have got one day, today, to pack for all of us, as we are going on holiday tomorrow. I may be in need of gin later!

As for the gift bag, I am going to call Prada at our holiday destination and see if they have it/them. Option no 2 is this Speedy B, it's the other bag I was trying to remember last night. I can get it delivered by the end of the week so I might get that if I can't get the other bag (which is cheaper). I feel all zen. it won't last.

Phew long postBlush

Drywhiteplease · 06/04/2014 10:30

Good god novice I really don't know how you do it. I'm fretting about only my packing and I've got 5 days that's probably why I'm fretting, too much time

Sleepwhenidie · 06/04/2014 10:47

I'm through my packing stress, not only packing to go away but sorting the house as it's rented over the holiday-I'm getting more efficient at it now though! I find Easter in the UK so hard to pack for though, have had to cover every eventuality-flip flops and bikini as well as fleece/raincoat and wellies . Still, we are away now and can relax a bit Smile.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 06/04/2014 11:19

Morning all!

Was going to pop out and buy the ST but I see Dry has covered it for me! Wink Still working my way through Porter here anyway.

Can't join in the running chat as I tried to do couch to 5k last year and didn't last very long 3 weeks, running is not for me!

I have been doing some house sorting as well this morning Sleep, we're getting a new sideboard delivered next Sat so need to move a bookcase to make room (with all that entails - books are piled up around the room now!). Sorting your house to rent it out is a bit more of a job though! How long are you away for?

The pencil skirt hunt came to an end last night, as I gave in and bought the skirt that started it all off when I missed it on the Outnet last Tuesday - here. Found it on Yoox for not much more, I LOVE it and hope it's as beautiful as it looks. Will need outfit help later on. Grin

Sleepwhenidie · 06/04/2014 11:42

ST has socks and heels Grin....man they lift stuff fast from here! Also has the diet advice that I preach to anyone who'll listen Hmm. Stalkers!

Blair we are only away for two weeks or so, we rent the house during all our holidays now, mainly for security reasons, though the cash is handy! That skirt is beautiful and a great bargain!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 06/04/2014 11:52

The ST stuff is getting silly! Where are our range rovers and lambos?? Wink

Thanks Sleep! Ah that sounds very sensible re house. Not sure if I missed it, where is this holiday to? Remember you saying about Italy at end of May Envy

MarshaBrady · 06/04/2014 11:55

Blair that is stunning, I love it. An green!

Off to buy the ST Style Grin.

MarshaBrady · 06/04/2014 11:57
