Come and join us for friendly fashion chat. Some of our glasses are empty because we're trying to loose weight, but were still happy, non judgemental, flippant and welcoming lot. We love new visitors (ESP Shop who will hug you)

Fedup the top is definitely not something I would have picked out browsing online but it really appealed to me IRL. I didn't have a lot of time so couldn't try it on but yes I suspect it's one of those things that's a bit marmite.

Drywhiteplease · 24/03/2014 22:17

Fedup I'm seeing lots just like that. Awful. I know a lady who I swear has has one higher than the other, most off putting when I'm trying to talk to her and look her in the eye Shock
Lovely links Liberty... I think the top is beautiful, and of course love the dress.

Can't believe how quickly this thread is filling up. Sorry if I left anyone out.

I have a plan....a new game called link STJ" right Shop is ahead with one point for the LK Bennet shoes. Was it Shop or Marsha who linked the pea coat ?
So whose link will get in next? Hmm

The trouble with 'well defined brows' is you can't stop staring at them esp if they are badly done.

I work with teenagers and see some horrors. Don't even start me on the foundation...

Gorgeous colour. Love this site.

shopafrolic · 24/03/2014 22:24

Grin liberty I do it for everyone else but then don't follow my own rules

shopafrolic · 24/03/2014 22:25

I don't do pink Fedup but that's a lovely bag

Fedupnagging · 24/03/2014 22:31

I don't have much in the way of pink anymore Shop - it is a colour that has suited me since I was a teen but since the pink cupcake craze hit, have tried to steer clear. I miss wearing pink though.

BrandyAlexander · 24/03/2014 22:46

Hello all! Great sum up Dry! can I add one more....there are no mini Novices on the wayGrinGrinGrin (in case my pinning nursery furniture confused youWink)

maradesbois · 24/03/2014 23:24

great new thread dry, my they do fill up quickly!

blair that's rubbish re aldo, customer service is so important. Outnet and nap are so fantastic for it that I never used to shop anywhere else online (until became influenced by you lot!)

shop fab reselling on the mulberry. You've inspired me to go through my own wardrobe. Am really picky about what I spend on but have some mistakes etc in there that am sure can get rid of. So far am eyeing a pink miu miu clutch which have never used, bought it in USA when exchange rate made it a bargain (although hardly a bargain if never used) & a stripy coach clutch from last summer - was talked into it by sales assistant as it matched the outfit I was wearing on the day Hmm, later decided I prefer the nautical look on my clothes and again have never used it.

Have just put a whole lot of outnet tees in shopping basket but not really that inspired so going to switch off for tonight. Sweet dreams all.

Umlauf · 25/03/2014 09:03

And umlauf is... Covered in Ella kitchen and racking up dry cleaning bills faster than you can say "get thee off to the how to not look a mess post baby forum" ... Blush

at princess Beatrice all grown up she has some rather good looks in there! particularly liking the dark green belted coat and red pencil dress.

I'm off to zara today and I'm going to wear the leather shorts. God knows how. At least they are wipe clean!

Umlauf · 25/03/2014 09:12

fedup that is a lovely colour. Reminds me of all the pink coats we were talking about back in October.

MarshaBrady · 25/03/2014 09:35

Umlauf I can't see Beatrice! Think the link needs another space.

Shop pm!

Umlauf · 25/03/2014 09:44

Oh no, does this work::

www.mydaily.co.uk/2013/12/13/princess-beatrice-wore-kate-middleton-zara-necklace-before-the-duchess/?icid=taboola-mydaily#!fullscreen&slide=endcard4745

If you scroll to the bottom and click "'"view gallery" ??

I think she gets it wrong a lot but I like that she is brave and has fun with her clothes, unlike Kate. And I love a redhead!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 25/03/2014 09:51

I love that red pencil dress on Beatrice Umlauf.

Weird article shop, agree that that "look" (if you can call it that) is what some designers seem to wear themselves. But surely if it's becoming a "thing" it can't at the same time be an anti-"thing" if that makes any sense?

Totally agree mara that high end places have the best CS (well, obv). But you'd think the high street would care more, still. Asos is one of the worst too.

MarshaBrady · 25/03/2014 09:56

Me too Blair and Umlauf, that's definitely my favourite. She looks great in red. And also in simple designs rather than too flouncy.

Agree on that article. A big press release drive by the sounds of it, it was in the ST too wasn't it? I can't bear the term and hope dies. Also agree it can't be an anti-thing and a thing. I do like the actual clothes that link shows though.

maradesbois · 25/03/2014 10:06

Morning

umlauf I like princess Beatrice's bravery too, think Kate is so risk averse both as fashion not really her thing and she's still trying to prove she belongs whereas Beatrice doesn't have too.

blair yes, good cs shouldn't be limited to high end places, not what I meant at all more that others could take a leaf out of nap group's book re how to sell online. I think my fave place to shop is outnet both for service and because being savvy there means you don't have to pay more than high st.

That leads me to another issue - fabric! A real bugbear often is that lots of £££ items are made of man made fibres. Having worked in that industry I know that mmf prices are not necessarily cheaper than cotton and that within natural fibres there are scales of quality whereas mmf are equal however for me fabric is one of the first things I look at before buying something.

OneLittleLady · 25/03/2014 10:11

I agree about the fabrics Mara an unfortunate side effect of some of my medications is sweating so I need natural fibres more than I used to. It surprised me how much natural fibre can be found in cheap clothing if you take the time to look for it instead of just grabbing whatever catches your eye.

shopafrolic · 25/03/2014 10:57

Mara the fabric thing drives me mad. I sweat horribly in manmade fabrics so most things I own are natural with a couple of exceptions from Whistles. I'm not always convinced that high end stores have the best CS (although the staff in Tom Ford were beyond brilliant (and HOT)). But I can't bear places like Zara, TopShop or H&M on a Saturday will queues out of the door and staff who just don't want to be there. I love US stores for their CS, can be OTT but consistent at least. The Outnet are always fab, v helpful and treat you with the same care they would a full price purchase.

Yup - not impressed that there is a term for that way of dressing. A thing but not a thing - just more column inches but I felt compelled to share as I liked the pics!

Marsha returned PM, hope not too late. Was at docs. All good, another 2 month prescription.

MarshaBrady · 25/03/2014 11:03

Shop the pics are fab. Love them. Right up my street!

Lol at HOT men in Tom Ford. I should hope so.

Thanks for pm, am deliberating on a purchase. I need to slow down a bit!

Glad the docs went well.

Mara I check fabrics, probably why I buy so much from the outnet. Cheaper but good fabric. I find poly really claustrophobic (yep I know).

MarshaBrady · 25/03/2014 11:06

Does anyone know how good Asos are with returns? Are they generally quite fast?

OneLittleLady · 25/03/2014 11:19

love the dress you chose for sleep I can definitely see her wearing it

shopafrolic · 25/03/2014 11:26

A PM conversation with Marsha today has made me realise how I really take cash flow to the wire in the name of fashion. I will happily give up other stuff to buy an item I love. Tom Ford sunnies being a case in point!
When I was a teenager my parents sometimes went away for 5 days or so leaving me home alone (boyfriend moved into 'the spare room' temporarily). They would leave me survival / food money for the week (£100) so I could shop. I would buy 2 packs of bacon and 2 cans of baked beans and survive on that for the 5 days (and bread and biscuits) and spend the rest of the food money on clothes. Grin

OneLittleLady · 25/03/2014 11:28

Are vintage sizes normally quite small? I bought and am wearing today, a vintage purple ribbed tube style skirt and it says it's a size 12 but it fits perfectly with a little room to spare on the waist

shopafrolic · 25/03/2014 11:29

No idea about vintage One sorry.
