Morning!

On the train into town and it's a gorgeous day. I can see the lake from the window and the view makes me realise how lucky I am to live here.

Wearing my teal DKNY dress, black opaques, Choo bikers, my lovely leather Hermès bracelet and Moncler coat.
(Yes, I realise I am a walking designer label cliché but it is nice to get out of my SAHM uniform of skinnies and tees)

DH is going to join me for a sushi lunch so I'm looking forward to that!

Oh forgot to mention I am wearing my Brora wristwarmers and Chinti & Parker bobble hat Wink

Drywhiteplease · 07/03/2014 07:55

Marsha always used to over pay sitters. Money well spent . Used to drive DH nuts! Normally I'd come stagger in, stuff a crumpled notes in their hand and only say "thanks" trying to look sober . people who help you out are invaluable and am always really nice to them. We have a regular taxi driver and I once got a bit carried away and gave him one of DH's best bottle of wine, needless to say he's been very dependable over the years! Grin

Drywhiteplease · 07/03/2014 07:57

Glad you had a great evening.....the outfit sounded amazing.

MarshaBrady · 07/03/2014 08:00

Haha Dry dh and I are as bad as each other and we get sucked into a overpaying vortex. I didn't have the right amount so rounded up and up again. Practically bowing as I handed over all the £. So grateful - someone else to look after the dc. Grin

Turq sounds lovely. Ds2 woke at 5am, never on a nursery day oh no only when we've been out. How do they remember to do that Confused.

Linus have a lovely lunch, gorgeous outfit!

Turquoiseblue · 07/03/2014 08:11

-this is the cos dress I was admiring yesterday- colour not as yellow and it s a grey silver through it - wrong for me, well maybe ina skirt but couldn't do it close to my face. plus it s better made and shaped than the awful model picture (made worse by the horrendous posture of the model- hate those zara esq poses especially on the type of structured clothing cos do- does nothing for it!)

Turquoiseblue · 07/03/2014 08:12

Oh Marsha - 5!! Am after a night out - groan.
Expresso methinks Smile

MarshaBrady · 07/03/2014 08:23

I know! On nursery days I have to wake him as he can sleep for England. Bonkers

Love the dress. Agree on the model poses.

shopafrolic · 07/03/2014 08:43

They know Marsha, they know. DS always does it on MU day remember?
Glad you had a fun night, yay for compliments.

From the mummy uniform (posted too early again-fingers too fast on iPhone!)

Dc sleeping in on nursery days but never when you'd really appreciate it like the weekend - sooo true!

Dhl delivering my navy gigis today, time for a pedicure my toenails are horrible from running haven't even painted them all winter.

Off to soft play today, the glamour of it all! Drinks in town with friends tonight though, outfit planning to be done.

QueenCadbury · 07/03/2014 09:40

marsga sounds like a fab night. We always tend to over pay sitters too. I usually get dh to pay as I'm too drunk!

linus sounds lovely. Enjoy the sushi.

marade my toenails have never recovered from when I used to run. They're still weak and break really easily so they're always really short.

santamarianovella · 07/03/2014 09:42

Morning!
marsha so glad you had a fab time,I bet you looked stunning as always,
And yes children are programmed that way,its their on way of saying:look I dont approve of you going out,so let me make you regret it.

linus your outfit sounds awesome! Enjoy your lunch.

turq lovely dress,I wish I could do bright yellow,I always look too Olivey in yellow.

queen lovely post, and a great blog,we are all guilty of doing that.

Mignonette · 07/03/2014 10:08

I always 'overpay' childminders and babysitters because it is an important job. I can never understand how people pay more to have their house cleaned/car valeted/ windows cleaned than they do to have their kids kept safe and entertained.

Great shopping in Brussels, shame there was little time. Bought a few things in Berschka to tuck away for daughter and also swooned over hand made leather gloves in a little arcade store. Longchamps had some gorgeous stuff in- colours were summery too. Came back with six jars of Prune jam from Carrefour (smashed two on kitchen tiles- slate floors are unforgiving), packets of heart shaped waffles (cute) and jars of fresh Frites sauce. Oh and some limited edition mixed pour moi amber scented perfume from a little hole in the wall store near the Grande Place. Wandered around at 1 a.m swooning at the flood lit architecture and had immense seafood supper in one of the alleyway bistros.

Met some truly inspiring women too- wow wow wow. And all in full possession of their personalities- no Westminster like ironing out of that which makes us all different.

Umlauf · 07/03/2014 10:34

marsha I bet the overpayment made her night!

mig Brussels sounds lovely. Especially the floodlit architecture. I've said it before but I do love the way you write so evocatively!

marades enjoy the Gigis! I did exactly the same when mine arrived, coral gel pedicure, even though I can't actually wear them for months yet!

linus that does sound very chic, enjoy the lunch!

I've just got back from registering my baby for nursery so I can go back to work. No excuse not to as childcare is so cheap here, but I still have the guilt. Blush

It also seems I was too quick to trash asos last night, depite their linguistic issues, as I now appear to have two pairs of MiH Paris jeans. Both in brown... I might send one back or I might dye one black as they were such a bargain (32 pounds!)

We're off skiing for a week now so I must bid you all farewell for a while, I'll be sans wifi. Naturally I have packed this monstrosity of a comedy jumper as well as lots of hush loungewear, cashmere socks and all the books I've not had time to catch up on. Bliss! Stopping overnight in Avignon too so I can do some French style stalking!

Will miss you all!

OneLittleLady · 07/03/2014 11:26

Evening sounds lovely Marsha

Have a great time Umlauf

No fashion news here, I'm too heavily accessorised by tissues to look even remotely stylish! I am wearing a leopard print belt I found in the bottom of the wardrobe though with leopard print pumps also found in the bottom of the wardrobe! It would seem I buy things, shove them in the wardrobe and then forget about them Blush

santamarianovella · 07/03/2014 12:48

Enjoy your ski trip umlauf, Maybe sell the MiH on eBay.

mig I second umlauf, your writing style is captivating,I've been to Brussels once, when I was a child, and your writing made me want to go there again, please start a travel/foodie journal blog with lots of pictures,

one your wardrobe is a treasure trove, SmileI love leopard prints.

OneLittleLady · 07/03/2014 12:50

I love leopard print too santa I was gutted when my leopard print jeans got too big as I now can't find any in the shops! I might get lucy later in the season as someone told me Primark have some in the bigger stores so they might filter down to our store!

LinusDKD · 07/03/2014 14:17

Back home after a lovely morning shopping in town and yummy sushi with DH.

Didn't buy anything for myself apart from a lipstick and bought lots of nice food for the weekend as DPIL are coming to stay.

I spotted that Paul and Joe Sister cardicoat I have been lusting after on Asos for ages so I tried it on. It is lovely and now I know which size I am but I didn't want to pay full price so I put it back.

And I had a look at NB's but, even though the store had lots of choice, none of the colours spoke to me so I didn't try any on.

And then I did something naughty...

I went to the Céline store to see if the had the cobalt Hobo, you know, just to admire it.

Turns out they didn't but had a lovely small model and a bigger model in different colours so I asked about the price just in case. And then gave my phone number so they could call me when the cobalt (well according to them it's indigo) comes in store. Blush

When I told DH what I did he groaned and rolled his eyes.

Btw, santa I think I saw your new bag (maybe in a darker colour) and it is gorgeous.

All this bag porn made me forget to go and have a look at the new Cos store but maybe it's for the best as I'd better start saving up just in case the Hobo comes in store. Wink

LinusDKD · 07/03/2014 14:22

Oh and I always overpay our babysitter/mother's help as well even though the hourly rate is steep as it is (approx £16 per hour Shock )

Like all of you, I am just happy that someone caring is looking after the DC when we are out.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 07/03/2014 14:31

Hello all

One hope you're feeling better from last night. :)

Yay Umlauf glad asos got their act together. Have a great holiday!

Welcome back mig sounds like lovely shopping. I've never been to Brussels but your description is tempting me.

Getting my hair done later (well, having an extortionately priced trim!) and then going away for the weekend to the in laws. It involves a party so I need to think about what to take to wear Confused. I can't wait for the lovely sunny weather we're going to have though!

Linus that is sensible not naughty. As you said "just in case"! And now you can buy the P&J coat when a code pops up for asos. Sorted!

santamarianovella · 07/03/2014 15:37

one its good the jeans are big,it means you've lost a lot of weight, fingers crossed you get to replace them soon!

linus I did see the hobo bag,in the color you like, and I don't think it looks indigo, its more brighter, there was a nother beautiful one in a bright yellow.im so happy with the trotteur bag,had a hard time choosing which color as there were lots of beautiful colors but ended up with taupe.

blair enjoy your weekend,

I've been searching endlessly for the chanel espadrilles, and ive finally found them! Grin, it was not an easy task,it envolved many phone calls, and one of my mum's friend found them for me in nice! And sent them over to me! I'm officially ready for the mini heat wave.

santamarianovella · 07/03/2014 15:56

I know I sound very vain Blush but I wanted them for over a year now! I hope I can upload a picture successfully
