Ohhh I want to look at your new hair, but sodding iPad won't let me Sad

I want a perm too, have curly ish flat ish hair and would love to have properly defined curly hair rather than ratty ends and fluffy hair.

AngryByrd · 25/01/2014 01:44

i like it :)

bishboschone · 25/01/2014 14:01

Captain darling ..open up the website and look ..blooming iPad is rubbish at mums net

Impatientismymiddlename · 25/01/2014 15:02

I got all the pictures on an iPad just fine.

HoneyDragon · 25/01/2014 15:19

Well, it survived being slept on. Just lightly dampened it and it looked fine.

Dh's face was a picture when he came in

(Note to self: tell dh when you are going to get a perm)

My mums grounded me. Apparently she had not lifted the perming embargo that was put in place in my teens. The fact that it looks nice is irrelevant Grin

I thought it would be more dramatic. :)

HoneyDragon · 25/01/2014 15:32

I haven't washed it yet. There's still the potential for a dramatic Weird Al crisis Grin

It looks nice honey - it looks quite natural and not too permed 80's

FergusSingsTheBlues · 26/01/2014 08:25

Has it made you look younger (my current obsession) ... You look so young..it really suits you, we'll done. I'd love one, but have waist length hair so...... Too scared

HoneyDragon · 26/01/2014 13:15

It has in a sense.

As when I wear my hair tied back or up, and straight it's always looked very aging.

I'm going to buy some cheap light conditioner later to wash my hair with.

Honey I would buy intensive conditioner and condition condition condition, I've never had a perm but my friends who had said it's quite drying, I have naturally wavy /slightly curly hair and it need loads of conditioning too.

Anything that says "repair" or "intensive" should do it!

HoneyDragon · 26/01/2014 14:24

I have proper conditioner too. I'm just avoiding shampoo as long as possible Smile

wish I could see. The phone app doesn't let me see pics.

swooosh · 26/01/2014 15:04

oh now I NEED a perm, I wasn't even born when perms were last around. Can you straighten perms though? I do prefer curly hair but my natural hair is straight with a ever so slight wave, sulk.

HoneyDragon · 26/01/2014 15:16

You can still occasionally straighten your hair but using a LOT of heat protection as it's a chemical process so knackers even the best hair.

The biggest peoblem with my many perms in the 80s was when they started to grow out. After about a month I'd have flat straight roots with an obvious line where the curl started. I'd be interested to know if modern perms produce the same effect.

ggirl · 26/01/2014 15:56

I like it..it suits you !

PacificDogwood · 26/01/2014 16:01

Looks great, HoneyDragon - I am so relieved for you Grin.
Do keep dancing and bouncing, surely that's what a perm is for?!

HoneyDragon · 27/01/2014 11:15

I washed it with conditioner last night and let it dry, it looked great.

I'm really happy. For the first time ever, I woke up this morning and didn't need to do my hair. On account of it being done already.

So that's going to help with my New Years resolution to try and be more groomed.

We need a photo of your newly washed hair, to see if we can start a perm evolution Grin
