Hi hoping for some advice please, does anyone have any recommendations of style blogs, don't want anything too high fashion, just general every day wear, in need of some inspiration.

Thanks :)

Hilarious re Bankers' Wives!!!

Still like allwornoutblog too, and the frugality, love that, somehow she manages to keep it real and interesting. As does WIT, tho I dunno, irritates me a tiny bit. I'm probably just a bit Envy of her figure and budget and ability to do a day's work in fancy high heels. And decorate a fecking nursery while working almost full time. And never looking tired while having a 1year old. And when does she do her bloody washing

I reckon WIT is seriously moneyed and has a lot of help. But she does have a wonderful way of making stuff look beautiful.

Yes, WIT has to have a lot of help. I admire her ability to make a business out of her blog. Still irritates me tho

I saw a WIT look a like or try a like at the bloggers thing. she looks crazy tbh - boyfriend jeans that suit no one and silver stillletoes a la pepsi and shirley
and bare feet

I don't get the high pointy pumps no socks thing in mid-winter. It just looks silly. Raining, cold, no socks. Tsk tsk eyes to heaven. God I'm ancient.

Twentymumthing is a great blog.

I am finding there's a real lack of good blogs suitable for a 20something mum, I've found lots for 20 somethings, and for 30/40y/o mums but not much combined.

in fact I would make amber into my own teeny Audrey Hepburn

I like does my bum look 40 but think it's all links one and she seems to wear the same stuff a lot. I like school gate style too. Agree about one being too prim. And WIT is just too expensive. She did post about finding having a baby harder than she expected though. I like fab at any age and not stressed as lamb but think she germs it wrong a lot.

Non style wise I like a cup of Jo.

My favourite WIT moment was when she tweeted that she was going to buy a white chloe dress for her going home from hospital outift - to a woman, everyone screamed no.

And later, much later she confessed the dress was not worn and she had to send her husband to buy leggings.

If you despise the 40' something uniform of skinnies, naice top and heels then I recommend-

Fullerfigurefullerbust
Roxys vintage style
Sugar darling
Pink haired princess
Retro chick

Showing anyone over a size 12 how its possible to say fuck off to all the fat shaming cunty bollocks.

Almost everything photographs better if you add 4 inch heels and a bare ankle - but it's pure fantasy. I think Bum40 does actually wear those heels all day and fair play to her but most people I know, myself included, don't and when I was blogging (on AWO with MrsCB ) I know I looked less "fashion" for it but I always showed the shoes/boots I'd actually worn not the ones that would have made the better shot. Also, like Mrs CB says, it's a whole different ballgame if you are tall - I'm sure Bum40 or WIT would beg io differ and lament lack of tits or whatever, I mean I'm sure like any of us they've got bits they'd rather hide/disguise but there's no denying it's easier to take a better photo if you are tall.

I just know alaska is currently sat on her sofa in her full on pin up girl regalia Wink

AlaskaNebraska · 31/12/2013 22:18

i cant imagine how hard it is

I do note though that none of them seem to have to conform to the strictures of bloody work wear ( apart from amber and her disabled loo) so can wear jeans and scarves all day long

Yes, I think winter blogging is very hard. Lordy for 5 months last year I didn't take off my barbour or boots so that was fun and would have been a riveting read Wink

I like midlife fashion thing as well - well I just follow her on pin as she has that awful white writing on black which I can't read. Also a bit too much text for my liking - I like pictures [so shallow]

WIT didn't really blog on maternity leave - probably because she realised there's only so many ways to wear skinnies and a breton top.

Is Wit tall? I thought she was a shorty (like me).Her blog has really changed since she came back after maternity leave.

trying to find tailored trousers or interesting kNitwear without fricking White Stuff to be able to stand all day in and MOVE YOUR ARMS is a whole new blog

I like Style Guile and School Gate Style, but I appreciate that I am a bit boring and mumsy so they may not be everyone's cup of tea.

blog topic
" heels you can wear all day"

"pencil skirts that dont bag

I wish there was a blog that was not the retro stuff (which just looks a bit desperate imvvvho) and was not stay at home mum in skinnies. I like dresses and skirts, and I'm at work for god knows what percentage of my life too.

I do like a couple of the All Worn Out folk, but most of that is skinnies too. One lady has beautiful short hair and gorgeous lipstick on there, but I can't remember what she actually wears!

I was quite sad that my work clothes are very casual. I wanted to go all dynasty and swish about in VB dresses.
