WideWebWitch · 23/07/2006 11:09

Right, is anyone up for joining me in a 6 week ten week younger plan? The rules:

Use sunscreen at all times
Do some exercise during the week, even if it's only walking
Cut down on or give up alcohol (I'm going to do another 6 weeks without it)
eat healthily, lots of fruit and veg
Try to get to bed by 10.30pm
Take make up off every night
Drink lots of water
Post here about how you're feeling

Starting tomorrow, so week one is week commencing 24 July 06. Who's in?

OP posts:
Caribbeanqueen · 02/08/2006 21:42

Porridge with raisins, blueberries and banana
Wholemeal pitta with ham and masses of salad/veg
Chickpea casserole with rice and salad
Two squares of chocolate and a pear drop
Nowhere near enough water though

iota · 02/08/2006 21:49

I had a beer with dinner but I had to as it was fajitas

winnie · 02/08/2006 22:23

I have worn suncreen.
Drank water but not enough.
No alcohol.
limited coffee
ate ok
no exercise
cleansing etc
Am about to go to bed
Not great... not terrible.
Must try harder...

Caligula · 03/08/2006 11:13

I am a lardy ole bat. No sunscreen, no exercise.

However, I did go to bed at 1030pm last night and I haven't had any booze since Sunday. And I am eating rye bread for lunch every day. And smoked salmon. And I'm trying to drink herbal tea and water instead of tea.

Beetle73 · 03/08/2006 21:22

I have done very well today!!

Weetaflakes
Yucky Brunschetta thing
VFF yogurt
Shepherd's pie with broad beans & mushrooms
Raspberries
NOt enough water - but the day's not over yet.

(Tried to go for chocolate, but was parked illegally and couldn't find a chocolate shop close enough - so that's why we have parking wardens.)

WideWebWitch · 03/08/2006 21:27

Today was rubbish
Massively stressed
was ill
ate loads
no exercise
but have exfoliated and relaxed in the bath tonight and feel slightly less stressed
took vit c and milk thistle tablet

OP posts:
iota · 03/08/2006 21:49

loads of wine tonight.

my mum is here to cat-sit

Callmemadam · 03/08/2006 23:29

WWW can I come back to play too? Have been away for fortnight, and before that the Alchoholic Sister Saga was just too awful to speak about, but I so missed this thread!!! Good news is I am now 9S 10lb so have dropped half a stone since end of May. Secret seems to be no carbs (other than wine ) with evening meal. I'm turning into Moondog . Can't cut down much on vino, though, sorry - will have to be Class Slacker at the back with a Note. Is Winnie here too?

mrsbang · 03/08/2006 23:36

No need for sunscreen
Swimming
Raspberries
Toast, bag of french fries, chicken. I will eat healthily.....one day.
Will not be in bed until after midnight.
Not wearing make-up.
Lots of water.

After a cr*p/peculiar day at work, the swimming really helped to destress me. Also managed to sort out an issue to do with our hols which was stressing me out, so feeling better about that too. Am shattered though, not getting enough sleep cos I'm trying to balance my work with DH's shifts and the boys, along with preparing for the holiday which needs loads of planning/packing, plus it's my youngest's birthday next week and I've got NOTHING sorted for that yet, to say nothing of his brother's who's birthday is whilst we're away. I pass no comment about my own birthday looming.

mrsbang · 03/08/2006 23:38

BUT I've maintained my no alcohol stance, lol.

Still trying to work out how I've managed.......

Caligula · 04/08/2006 07:46

Well I went to bed at 1130 last night so that's a bit crap. Also my water consumption has completely tailed off as the weather has got colder. No sunscreen still. But I had rye bread and salmon (again) for lunch, with the only ripe tomato from the garden, plus some blackberries and grapes and for dinner, chicken with chickpeas, preserved lemons and rice. No booze. Impressed? Am now off to exfoliate.

Haven't had booze for 6 days - went out last night had a couple of glasses and a nice meal, but god am I paying for it this morning! Felt physically sick and bloated! SO back to no booze I think!
Still not drinking enough water thou'....

winnie · 04/08/2006 08:48

Callmemadam, I am still here... just. I've got a personal nightmare on my hands at the moment but am determined to concentrate on me too
Hope things have improved with your sister.

Yesterday was better.
Still haven't done any exercise.
However have found a new stress reliever! I am learning to drive and yesterday I went out with my instructor and just drove for 2 hours around the Wiltshire countryside. It was bliss and very surprising how very stress relieving
I haven't drank any alcohol for a few days.
Coffee intake down to one cup a day. Water intake could do better.
Cleansing etc is the easy bit.
Am eating healthily again

Has anyone got any recommendations for treating eczema with alternative remedies? I am covered in eczema like never before which is driving me crazy. It's so itchy.

Keep going everyone

Somanybabyseagulls · 04/08/2006 13:36

We use Allergenics cream. You can get it from Boots or health food shops, they do a range of products from body wash to shampoo. A tube costs around £6.00, it's great stuff.

winnie · 04/08/2006 13:49

Somanybabyseagulls, thanks

majorityofone · 04/08/2006 15:56

off on holiday for two weeks so will try harder when I return.

WideWebWitch · 04/08/2006 17:58

Today
toast
packet of crisps
massive chicken fajita thing for lunch (out with colleagues)
no exercise
not enough water
no sunscreen but didn't go out
feel refeshed after early night last night with no booze
but will be drinking tonight, it's been a hell of a week.

welcome back all returners!

Caligula · 04/08/2006 20:21

I am determined to have at least a glass of wine tonight. Have not had sunscreen or done exercise, but did walk about 3 miles. And had crap lunch - cheeseburger and chips in local caff with coffee! I still feel soiled from it. Not enough water. Am just about to cook steak with salad, will wrap it in a fajita that's sort of healthy.

Callmemadam · 04/08/2006 21:26

Today,
muesli
banana
chicken soup
banana
bag of children's French Fries
2 strong cappucinos
beetroot and butternut squash salad with feta
yoghurt

Does anyone think that's too much? I still want to lose another 3lb.

Winnie, hope your stress can be resolved. My sister is celebrating attending AA meetings by drinking..... On subject of eczema, have you suffered from it before? Just wondered about gluten intolerance, which produces an unbearable itchy eczema like rash called dermatitis herptoformia (I think).

Now obeying WWW's rules (for once and Going To Bed). Children are watching Top Gun: hands up who else saw it first time?!!!!

mrsbang · 04/08/2006 21:35

No need for sunscreen

Stomping around the shops, did walk up three flights of stairs (and back down again) at the carpark, although you would too - last time I used the lift there some young woman weed in the lift as I stood there........

No Alcohol
Raspberries
Toast
M&S S/w and crisps (well it's better than a Gregg's bake lol)
Chicken
and a big fat juicy doughnut - saved for me by my darling 7 year old - how could I refuse??
Will be in bed by 11 pm.
Not wearing make-up.
Lots of water.

I'm shattered and really need to get to bed. (Would love some vino too.) Have got the boys' birthday cards sorted, lol, if not their pressies.

Cappucino · 04/08/2006 21:36

went for first run last night and was so knackered after it I was too weak to stop dh opening me two beers

Caribbeanqueen · 04/08/2006 21:36

Friday night's not a good time for me to post, as I usually have a take away and some wine after my week's abstinence. I am undoing all my good work, but as the weight doesn't seem to be shifting anyway, I am losing the will a bit.

Did lots of walking today though.
Not enough water
No suncream
Bed at 1.30 last night

Caligula · 05/08/2006 09:10

LOL at too weak to stop the beers!

winnie · 05/08/2006 14:44

As mentioned on another thread today I have already eaten:
8 chocolate biscuits
2 crumpets and marmite
a yogurt
bread, cheese and pesto
raisins
several glasses of grapefruit juice
& 2 individual bakewell tarts a friend brought with her when she came for coffee

Need to concentrate on managing stress I think.
