WWW's All New Ten Year Younger Plan WEEK ONE

WideWebWitch · 23/07/2006 11:09

Right, is anyone up for joining me in a 6 week ten week younger plan? The rules:

Use sunscreen at all times
Do some exercise during the week, even if it's only walking
Cut down on or give up alcohol (I'm going to do another 6 weeks without it)
eat healthily, lots of fruit and veg
Try to get to bed by 10.30pm
Take make up off every night
Drink lots of water
Post here about how you're feeling

Starting tomorrow, so week one is week commencing 24 July 06. Who's in?

OP posts:
winnie · 28/07/2006 07:30

yesterday was not too bad (but for the 8 falafels )

toast & marmite
falafels & salad
Carrot bake, new potatoes and loads of tomatoes
peach, banana
& pear with small amount of goats cheese

cleansed etc
lots of water

Was working on a self portrait last night and scrutinising my face I realised I absolutely need to look ten years younger. I do not look my age of 36. I look much older.

Aim for the weekend; get my roots done!

majorityofone · 28/07/2006 08:41

Another bad day yesterday (am blaming too much wine the night before leading to horrendous hangover). Lots of eating even things I didn't want to eat (how stupid). But haircut and early night has put me back on the right track for today and going forward.

Another sunny day and am off to have a mug of hot water and lemon (am assuming this counts towards big drinking water tally) Oh virtuous me!

arfishymeau · 28/07/2006 12:21

Had a good night's sleep, cleansed and sunscreened.

Wholemeal toast for breakfast with no sugar (or nasty aspartame) jam.

Still in agony from deep tissue massage but I needed it to sort out my dodgy shoulder from carrying the 400lb ancient laptop work gave me. I consider this as a) exercise and b) giving me a self-satisified youthful glow.

Had very low fat organic pumpkin & ginger soup for lunch, with some more wholemeal bread.

I roasted a chicked a la WWW (lemon inside) for DP yesterday, so might have a bit of lovely moist chicken with salad for dinner. Then am going to make a chicken spanish omelette for DD tomorrow.

Looked sideways at new exercise ball with attached stretchy weights and immediately decided that cleaning the bathroom was the lesser of the two evils. Must exercise more.

Feel thinner but have quite a long way to go before I can fit into any of the clothes I brought out from the UK.

On the plus side, I picked up a pair of $60 clarks shoes for $5 (that's about GBP1.80) in the Myer sale. Score! Am going back tomorrow to hunt and snare every other pair I can find in all the sizes that DD might get to in the next x years.

Have had loads more water than normal, but even more cups of lovely PG Pyramid tea that I got from the import shop yesterday. There are lines, and I'd rather give up wine than tea right now.

Today, bit shit, going to get worse

2 pieces toast
some blueberries
chocolate and raisin bar (100 odd cals)
a HUGE burger and about 20 chips, took someone out to lunch
an ice lolly someone bought me at work
2 glasses of Pinot Grigio and counting
a coupla prawns and a bit of smoked trout
no exercise
not enough water
no sunscreen
but did take milk thistle and vit c tablets. We're having a curry tonight but I'm going to have fairly virtuous tandoori chicken

mrsbang · 28/07/2006 20:52

No sunscreen today, hardly been out.
No exercise, but shopping for holiday clothes has to count for something.....doesn't it?
No alcohol.
Toast, cheese n ham bake (Greig's finest lol - went shopping straight from work), bag of french fries, ice lolly, chicken sandwich, nectarine and raspberries.
Am aiming to get to bed by 11 pm.
Not wearing make-up.
Have drunk lots of water.

Woke up like a lark, lol, but exhausted from all the shopping.

Caligula · 29/07/2006 10:43

Not such a good day yesterday

No sunscreen (but wasn't really out)
No booze
Didn't get to bed till midnight (bad)
Lunch was smoked salmon on rye bread with a salad, dinner was baked chicken with peppers and pasta with pesto.
Only about 3 litres of water yesterday.
No exercise. (Crap)

iota · 29/07/2006 12:23

went to bed at 10.30pm - couldn't sleep - dropped off after 1am

I feel so thin - been off the alochol all week.

About to change all that and have a bad weekend as dh is home after a week away, and we're having friends round for a BBQ

but it will be fun

SminkoPinko · 29/07/2006 14:58

Have been out on the piss 2 nights running...

Caligula · 29/07/2006 19:42

I can't wait I've been so virtuous I have to post about it:

Breakfast - 3 cups of tea and muesli
Lunch - Chicken with rye bread and peppers
Dinner - will be pork with coconut and red curry sauce and rice
Make up - none

I have drunk 3 litres of water, worn sunscreen, exfoliated for the first time in a year and went running (well, mostly running, some walking) for 3 miles.

Am now sitting here wondering if I'm entitled to open that bottle of rose cava which someone left in my fridge last week. Haven't had any wine for about 3 weeks, so am feeling that having done a run (ish) I've earned it. OTOH, would it be throwing away all my good work today?

WideWebWitch · 29/07/2006 19:55

Well done Caligula, very impressive, esp the running. I think you deserve the Cava, frankly! I've been ok ish

2 pieces toast, marmite
blueberries
fishfingers and peas
strawberry and banana smoothie
some choc covered raisins
some crisps dh bought
a couple of strawberries
some prawns, crab pate, mackerel and salmon from one of those M&S wheels of seafood things. Very nice but I dipped them in lemon mayonnasise, not ideal
no sunscreen but haven't been out
therefore no exercise at all, must must must go for a long walk tomorrow
no wine yet, just wondering whether to have some or not, could easily go without but it is Sat and I'm not drinking during the week at all

Sminko, oh well, you're supposed to be happy too so, er, I'll let you off! Iota and Mrsbang, well done on the no booze front. Sobernow, well done, are you less bored today ? We are a depleted thread, all those good intentions last week. I'll start a new thread on Sunday night and we can all be absolved and start anew.

OP posts:
mrsbang · 29/07/2006 20:12

No sunscreen today, forgot.
Swimming.
No alcohol.
Sausage and Cheese oatcakes, bag of french fries, chicken, potato wedges and beans, treacle tart and raspberries.
Am aiming to get to bed by 11 pm.
Not wearing make-up.
Have drunk lots of water.

Feeling fine. Don't drink as much water or eat as much fruit on the weekend for some reason.

Caligula · 29/07/2006 22:27

No booze in the end, I was too tired. Am just about to go to bed.

arfishymeau · 30/07/2006 14:50

I'm still here.

AND I had another wheatgrass juice for breakfast.

Unfortunately that was swiftly followed by a bistro lunch (for DD, of course) which meant I had to have 2 glasses of Oyster Bay's finest while DD painted my face coco the clown-like in public.

I got in extra veggies by picking off the courgettes, peppers and aubergines from the bistro-pizza I got for the three of us. The bistro-garlic-bread I ate doesn't count because I ate it in small nibbles while no-one else was watching.

After owning my iso-system ball for 4 days, I still haven't got to the bottom of the box, where the exercise instructions and DVD lurk. DD and I had lots of fun flying on it earlier though. I consider this exercise because we both touched it in an energetic way.

I have to drink much more water - so far today I had 3 (ok 6) mugs of glorious imported PG pyramid bags and 2 glasses of wine.

I also need to exercise more.

I did manage the easy exfoliation, eye cream, sunscreen, hair deep conditioner and cream for hands and elbows.

I don't think Gwynnie would be impressed with my efforts.

Blackduck · 30/07/2006 14:55

I'm here! Had a good two days (friday/sat) - no alcohol despite having wine box waved at me last night - loads of water and don'e pretty well on the food front - intend to keep it up!
Today - so far, so good. Two things I want to work on are the booze and the bread (I eat way too much of the stuff...)
Curry tonight - but I'm making it so I know whats going in it!

Caribbeanqueen · 30/07/2006 15:28

I had a very good week until Friday night, when fish and chips threw me slightly off track. Did feel a bit crap afterwards though. Had glass of wine Fri and Sat, but not enough water.

No make up, but keep forgetting to take suncream off.

Water and exercise are my missions for next week.

Am still here too but an awful weekend although not too much wine. Got very very wet watching Macbeth in torrential rain last night (added atmosphere but has made cold worse) even pants were wet when I got home... Then took ds1 and friend to see Stormbreaker today (vg) and ate most of their chocolate!

Hoping to wipe out the dismal efforts of last week and start afresh tomorrow.

winnie · 30/07/2006 19:07

have not had good weekend Have had a rather traumatic weekend and have therefore eaten everything in sight and drunk wine!

Maybe I can start again tomorrow with new resolve

mrsbang · 30/07/2006 21:55

Yay, I remembered the sunscreen today.
Wandering around Llandudno is as good as it gets today.
No alcohol - although came very close to ordering wine when I couldn't have my smoothie.
Plums for breakfast
Picnic for lunch
Tea @ Tiffany's.
Am aiming to get to bed by 11 pm.
Not wearing make-up.
Have drunk four pints of water.

Happy but exhausted.

Don't drink as much water or eat as much fruit on the weekend for some reason, especially when out and about lol.

Caligula · 31/07/2006 01:37

Have done terribly badly today. Got up at 10.30 (kids are at my Mums - luxury but strange and annoying feeling that half the day is gone), muesli and tea for breakfast, no make up or sunscreen but didn't go out, rye bread, ham and sald for lunch, no exercise except painting DS's bedroom (does that count), 1/3 bottle of cava followed by loads of curry. Not very much water (about a litre) and I'm still up very late.

Very poor. Am off to bed now.

swedishmum · 31/07/2006 11:16

Too much wine this weekend though not much food. Had lots of water though and wore sunscreen. Renewed effort today. We're eating more healthily anyway as I'm avoiding additives with ds.

Cappucino · 31/07/2006 12:05

have drunk much water and even had healthy salad supper when had friend over for evening on Saturday

mushroom, spinach and Roquefort cheese yum (dunno how healthy the cheese is... but there was a hell of a lot of spinach )

Have drunk wine but have been quite good about amount

and had water and sunscreen

today I have gym stuff in bag and am off to M&S to buy salad

tortoiseshell · 31/07/2006 12:20

Am going away for a few days, so won't be posting till later in the week! Not had a great weekend - dh was away and it was dd's birthday party so no meals, but lots of party food! No alcohol though.
