WideWebWitch · 23/07/2006 11:09

Right, is anyone up for joining me in a 6 week ten week younger plan? The rules:

Use sunscreen at all times
Do some exercise during the week, even if it's only walking
Cut down on or give up alcohol (I'm going to do another 6 weeks without it)
eat healthily, lots of fruit and veg
Try to get to bed by 10.30pm
Take make up off every night
Drink lots of water
Post here about how you're feeling

Starting tomorrow, so week one is week commencing 24 July 06. Who's in?

I would love to do this - but think the exercise bit will be more or less scuppered by the double whammy of school hols and dh being away all summer ( no nice trips to the gym for me until Sept)

and I might be hitting the bottle in order to keep my sanity

WideWebWitch · 24/07/2006 07:05

Marvellous! Welcome everyone. Anyone can join, anytime, you don't have to be here at the beginning. So far:

Me
noddyholder
Suzywong
Smonkopinko
arfishymeau
jampots
sobernow
tamba
tortoiseshell
winnie
glitterfairy
swedishmum
caligula
earlybird
me23
carolinamoose (maybe if she feels old enough!)
mistressmiggins
maybe iota in a half hearted way

OK, this is day 1. I ate LOADS yesterday and drank wine last night and didn't get to bed until midnight so I am raring to go and can't wait to feel the effects, I know I'll feel better at the end of this.

Hello

Can I join in. Would love to feel 10 years younger although will settle for 5. School holidays are looming and need the motivation to keep me sane.

womblingalong · 24/07/2006 07:54

Please can I join in, I know I really need to get a grip on my lifestyle.

I also know that the getting to bed on time and water things are going to be difficult for me, also my pathological biscuit habit seems to scupper my healthy diet!

Blackduck · 24/07/2006 08:22

Count me in - I need to improve my lifestyle. Will try to give up the alcohol (thou' thats hard! - will at least attempt to cut it down...).
Feel pretty wreaked this morning as had lunch round a friend's yesterday and drank too much...and ds was being a pain...

WideWebWitch · 24/07/2006 09:32

Welcome all new people. Fio, we watched Jurassic Park 2 on vid with ds last night and then some crap on comedy moments (it wasn't even good, lord knows why we stayed up) til midnight at which point we went aaagggh we're only going to get SIX hours sleep. Dd woke at 6am.

So far
I have used facial and body exfoliator
body cream all over
2 pieces wholemeal toast
water
and will be using sunscreen when we go out
and no make up today so none to take off

Pollyanna · 24/07/2006 09:40

I'm in too.

I have a tanned face so will start putting sunscreen on and must drink more water. I also keep meaning to go to bed before 11, but never seem to manage it. Am pretty good on exercise and alcohol.

Cappucino · 24/07/2006 10:03

oooh yes! this couldn't have come at a better time

might have to have a week off for my holiday tho'

Caribbeanqueen · 24/07/2006 10:07

Hello, I'm in. Need to do something drastic before holiday in September.

Will also be trying to eat GI as much as possible.

MissyCocker · 24/07/2006 10:26

Me too please!, have just spent the weekend trying to find a diet that somehow incorporates a breastfeeding induced rabid carbohydrate craving. It honestly never occurred to me just to try and eat healthier foods. Will be pushing dd3 around the block a few times this evening in an attempt to ascertain exactly how unfit I have actually become.
I never take my make up off before bed, and at the moment I'm lucky if i've finished the washing up by 10.30 (when do I get to go on MN?) but I'll give it a go!

moondog · 24/07/2006 10:34

I joined last time around and got to my target weight of 10 stone (5 foot 8) and comfortably into a size 12,so it worked for me!

Could do with extra impetus though.

Missy,if you eat fewer refined carbs, you will stop craving them.
I eat a lot of rice, quinoa, oats and rye bread and am honestly never hungry.

I need to get back on track with running and gym after a few weeks break as have had my niece and nephew staying.Still,we have done a lot of walking and swimming in the sea.

suzywong · 24/07/2006 10:48

Well I am running at what I like to call a Handicap
Took the kids to Burger King today, had a disgusting Whopper and have just finished off fussy little bastard ds2's char sieu mein (bbq pork and white refined flour noodles) because he asked for it and rejected it so I'm also on the wine

Bloody kids

GoodLuckToYou

moondog · 24/07/2006 10:51

lol SW

moondog · 24/07/2006 10:51

I have been pissed fairly often over the last two weeks.....

mummydear · 24/07/2006 10:55

I am finding it far too hot for running at the moment, now with the school hols and hubby abraod not much chance at moment.

Am goignt o join weightwatchers tonight to give me more incentive and force me to be weighed each week .

So in 6 weeks when kids go back to school I might be a yummy mummy at the school gate

mummydear · 24/07/2006 10:56

I've opted for the no make up today as well. Just aswell I am only going to Tesco !!

moonshine · 24/07/2006 11:05

Anyway, good idea. I am back in. Will be hitting 40 on Wednesday and fear the 6 long long weeks of school hols ahead will drive me to the edge of many excesses and destructiveness so I need reining in. I'm ok with with sun cream and water but really must go back to the drawing board with alcohol, food and exercise. Here goes....

majorityofone · 24/07/2006 11:43

So far so good. Sunscreen on and have had two huge glasses of water and only one cup of tea. Fighting quite horrible summer cold so no desire for usual 25 cups of coffee in morning. And had porridge for breakfast so am still full although cross as spent whole morning trying to find size 6 doodles for ds3 as he has grown out of other ones in about 3 weeks and there are none to be found...but maybe that counts as exercise!

CheesyFeet · 24/07/2006 11:44

I'm in... 6 weeks until holiday. I'm horrendously overweight and would love to lose a stone before I go [yeahright emoticon]

Don't need much suncream as I am in the office all day - fake tanned my legs last night.
Exercise will be difficult as I have a dodgy back and sciatica but will try as weight loss will help with the aches and pains.
I eat loads of fruit & veg already, unfortunately accompanied by lots of everything else too. Will try to cut down on the everything else.
Will try to give up alcohol but may have the odd glass - I've been drinking a couple of glasses a night recently and would like to get off the slippery slope.
Usually collapse into bed exhausted at around 10ish anyway!
Don't generally wear makeup so no problem there (am naturally gorgeous )
Water - now there's a thing. I'm totally addicted to diet coke. This is gonna be my struggle I think.

arfishymeau · 24/07/2006 12:22

OK, well my day is drawing to an end.

It started off badly with an emergency exit from the house 20 minutes after waking up to get the nanny, so no packed healthy lunch or breakfast.

Do have sunscreen on, and wore sunnies (compulsory here to prevent sun squinting).

I picked up a munja muffin on the way to work - fat free, hi fibre, hi fruit for breakfast. No coffee but 2 cups of tea. Had butternut squash soup for lunch and a roll (no butter).

Have had some stir fried veg for dinner and a couple of glasses of wine (right now 2 glasses of wine IS a detox).

Am planning on going to the gym tomorrow and buying one of those ball things for toning.

Need to drink more water, drink less wine and use some of the lovely clarins stuff I got for exfoliating.
