Disclaimer: haven't bought anything else this year to save up for post HoC splurge Smile

Hopefully · 22/04/2014 12:03

Bumping this now I've found it so I can look at links later!

CMP69 · 22/04/2014 17:13

And a pair of khaki skinnies from Boden in the sale, but sold out. Might take a pic if I remember. Not buying anything else Wink

Love the stud front jumper from Very, great haul!

I have a pile of new clothes sat next to me on the sofa right now, but am trapped by sleeping baby on my lap so can't try them on! Will link any winners Smile

shortaris1 · 24/04/2014 10:39

Hi all, mind if I jump in? I

have been following the threads for ages and you all have inspired me to break away from black and go warmer with my clothes. Feel and look MUCH better. I still have a fair bit of black in my wardrobe, especially for my bottom half but I'm getting in to wearing it with warmer colours and trying out new things thanks to you ladies.

Bought a nice orangey vest in Next yesterday to wear under a beigey overshirt type thing. I'd have gone for black before but it looks fab!

Hopefully · 25/04/2014 16:52

Hi Short, welcome aboard! Orange vest sounds good. MIL has just treated me to an orange handbag, which I am looking forward to using Smile.

evelyn good DP finds!

Must link my recent purchases, new baby is cramping my MN time too much!

Charitygirl1 · 26/04/2014 12:10

Right, I'm back post Heartbleed related re-reg and name change. I like that tartan dress Evelyn, even with the black collar!

Some new purchases (I'll post twice to avoid iPad losing my post halfway through below. Off shopping tomorrow - have a hankering for a creamy coloured dress this summer, but also a few things I've seen online that I'd like to try on. I'll try and link them too.

First up, this dress in lime for work. Despite the 'bodycon' description it's quite generously cut, and not too short (I'm 5'7" and it's not far above my knees).

Next - I love posh joggers , and these are lovely fabric and a bargain

I want this, in cream
www.newlook.com/shop/womens/skirts/cream-lace-pencil-skirt_302202313

And what do we think of this? I know shell pink should be autumn friendly but is the detailing a bit silvery. So pretty tho!

www.newlook.com/shop/womens/jackets-and-coats/shell-pink-beaded-jacket_301105672

Also currently awaiting the delivery of a pair of pool sliders in a gorgeous looking bronze from Asos. Really hoping they will work...

BabCNesbitt · 27/04/2014 02:52

Charity, I'm loving all your finds! Especially that NL pencil skirt. Do you have a link for the pool sliders? I'm hoping to find something slightly more elegant than my clunky Birkenstocks for the summer (yes, I know they're fashionable this year, but I've been wearing and resoling them for YEARS. The insoles can probably walk away on their own.)

And I don't know about the silver bits on the jacket, but oh, I'd be sorely tempted to close my eyes to them...

Now, I'm hoping that someone can tell me that I can ignore the pink and black bits on this dress, because I am desperate to find a pretty dress that doesn't make me look like a sack. Would it be sufficiently autumnal, do you think?

JenniMoo · 27/04/2014 08:49

Bab - I love that dress! Can't comment on whether there's too much black though.

Charity- the nl pencil skirt looks just what I need for going back to work. I'm not sure I'm brave enough for a cream one though. The pink looks coral to me though, so might give that a try.

KosherBacon · 27/04/2014 09:06

Hello autumns! I am a winter invading for some advice! I went on my style day yesterday and it was suggested I was a natural romantic. A search shows a few if you are natural romantics. I wonder if you have any links to Pinterest boards, blogs etc I would find useful as I am really struggling to envisage it.

JenniMoo · 27/04/2014 14:43

Hello! I'm a natural romantic and starting to get myself sorted. It's very personal as the shapes that suit you are part to do with your shape. I've found the cards with the shapes of skirts etc combined with the descriptive words on the info sheets has helped.
Sorry I can't be more useful!

Aster · 27/04/2014 22:06

I took River Island kimono back. It was lovely but much more glam and night timey than I wanted. I really wanted something that had a more casual feel.
Instead I found a knee length one at H&M . Much more me. Unfortunately I can't find it on the website. It has a blue inch trim all the way round and it is vaguely grassland rather than floral print. Greens, blues and stormy yellow. And at £19.99 half the price of the other. Yay.

evelynj · 27/04/2014 22:08

Charity-some lovely stuff there-love joggers & skirt-link to sandals please!

Kosher-I'm natural romantic too but have no links soz-there is a thread on it if you have a look. Think Nigella Lawson is the person I always think of-rounded & flows, not too structured. It's so hard to find things in style & colour.

I'll try to add some bits to the natural romantic thread if I come across some :)

Charitygirl1 · 27/04/2014 22:39

How odd - my bronze shoes have gone from site! Sadly they weren't right for my difficult feet. If they were less difficult and I could wear slip ons I'd def order these

www.asos.com/Park-Lane/Park-Lane-Gold-Leather-Sling-Flat-Sandal/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=3782153&cid=10854&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=36&sort=-1&clr=Matt+gold

Bab - that dress does have lots of non autumn bits in obvs but the brown is very dominating I think - perhaps it's more spring really. It's the kind of borderline item that, if it were my style, I would get. 100% your style + 75% your colours = perfect IMO.

evelynj · 28/04/2014 19:01

Only size 8 & 12 left (boo!) but this looks like a nice summer dressing gown type thing

Aster · 28/04/2014 22:56

The Heartbleed hack has messed me up good and proper. I've been trying to reset my password since it happened. I though I'd eventually managed it last night when I posted about the kimonos but no, now my name has changed and I didn't choose it. I want to be whitecat again.

BabCNesbitt · 29/04/2014 03:27

Hmm, I think you're right, charity - it is more springy, and TBH I'm not sure it's even my style. I just glommed onto it after a crappy day in Denver trying to find some clothes that didn't look utterly crap on me. Why is it so hard to find properly tailored clothes in decent fabrics here?! So tired of groping through rails of pouffy polyester blouses! Angry /whinge

JenniMoo · 29/04/2014 06:32

fit and flare dress
What do you think? An autumn navy? Was linked to on a thread yesterday and now they've sent me a extra 20% off code...

Notgoingtotakeitanymore · 01/05/2014 20:11

Just hijacking from summer - looking for advice on how not to feel cutesie as a natural gamine (and 5'6" and late 40s) - Lougle was recommended as someone who may be able to help. Have become paralysed and paranoid since style day (although happy with diagnosis too - it makes sense)

RahRahRasputin · 01/05/2014 20:24

I've made a new thread here as this one is almost full. I hope that's okay.

Notgoing hopefully someone will be able to answer your questions on the new thread :)
