Cheese I find toast is brilliant for autumn colours. I rarely find anything in my style, but the colours are fab from there. i have a gorgeous chocolate brown wool felted biker jacket from the year before last, and one of my clients got a wool dress there last year that was an exact match for the forest green drape.

RahRahRasputin · 08/04/2014 15:14

Congratulations hopefully Flowers

I got some bits from Outfit and New Look last week. They have some nice bits in for anyone on a bit of a budget. Lots of coral especially. I tried to do links but then my iPad lost my whole post, I think because I was changing between tabs. I will try and post the highlights individually instead, hope that won't be too annoying...

I have cleared out my wardrobe and got rid of lots of unsuitable clothes. I realised that the things I have worn most are the ones that fit the autumn palette, although I bought them before my analysis. I'm rediscovering lots of clothes as I ended up in very glamorous Hmm trackies and soft tops for quite a while after my surgery and then wore them through chemo too as I just warned to be comfy. So there's lots of things I haven't worn in almost two years, as my social life hasn't quite picked up yet! :)

I've hung on to a few bits and bobs, mainly work clothes as I'm nearly finished at uni so will be job hunting but don't want to buy a whole new work wardrobe until I have a job and know what the dress code is like.

Also Toffee I'm really sorry I thought I'd replied to your post but it seems to have got lost in the ether Confused I am starting to see the colours more. But the main benefit is that now all my clothes go together. I used to have tops I could into wear with one pair of trousers and cardigan/jumper etc. whereas now I can mix and match more so each item makes several outfits. And I know that my outfits go together. That's really boosted my confidence as I know I look okay and also that I'm not just repeating the same identical outfit over and over again!

lougle fabulous charity shop bargains! Very jealous of your charity shop prices too. Here they're mainly of the £5 for a bobbly Primark t shirt frame of mind.

Welcome cheese :)

RahRahRasputin · 08/04/2014 15:17

Billie and blossom orange flowery dress from Dorothy Perkins this is one of the dresses I got, the background is black but all the other colours seem to tone in okay, the green isn't perfect but the dress seems to suit me overall :)

RahRahRasputin · 08/04/2014 15:22

Mela orange and brown dress from New Look seems to be all autumn colours, even the blue is very close to marine navy. The zip is silver rather than gold but at £25, can't really complain! Grin they had another one in the same fabric but a simpler style, it's not on the website though. It says this one is a web exclusive but I bought it in one of their bigger stores.

charitygirl · 08/04/2014 15:37

Congratulations Hopefully - can't believe you had a girl! Makes me think it might be worth a try...

Toast is brilliant on colours though v little is my style either. Another autumn winter is a label called Sessun, which you can find quite a lot of on the Coggles site - sale now on!

Will be back with news on some summery purchases - cannot quite believe it, but I have bought - and love - a cropped t shirt.

evelynj · 08/04/2014 15:38

Congratulations hopefully! That is lovely-I've been buying nearly anything that isn't pink for my baby girl, too many cute clothes!

Great charity shop bargains & that toast stuff is lovely but out of my price range. Rah-some good bargains for you-love those dresses but sadly too short for me - my knees must not be exposed!

H&m have some new bits-I got a leopard print vest which pleased me :)

lougle · 08/04/2014 20:28

Congratulations, Hopefully!

I find it fascinating to see the items everyone links to - I think 'oooh that's pretty...but too drapey for me/too long/too short/too shiny.....' it's brilliant Grin

cheeseismydownfall · 08/04/2014 20:43

Yes in my (over) excitment I failed to notice how expensive Toast is - shame! I do have a 15% code if anyone is interested, but still too extravegant for me at the moment.

Huge excitement this morning though when my Sunday night Great Plains order arrived much more quickly than I was expecting. Felt ready to kiss DHL man when I spotted him at the window with an enormous clothes shaped box. It was a good haul! Lots to go back, but I am keeping the following (all sale bargains):

www.greatplains.co.uk/product/j4aaj/Painters+Denim+Slim+Leg+Jeans.htm in Petrol

www.greatplains.co.uk/product/j8abu/Cocoon+Chunky+Knit+Roll+Neck+Jumper.htm in Rooibos

www.greatplains.co.uk/product/j4aad/Retro+Slim+Leg+Corduroy+Trousers.htm in Petrol

www.greatplains.co.uk/product/j6ai9/Ballerina+Jersey+Top.htm

www.greatplains.co.uk/product/j6lu7/Lena+Tunic+Top.htm in Samphire

www.greatplains.co.uk/product/j1aab/Rome+Bobble+Knit+Dress.htm in Petrol

Finally I couldn't resist the following, even though not on sale - looks lovely with the Samphire top...

cheese, I have those cords. They're lovely Smile

travel, thank you, that skirt is lovely. I might have to wander past...

BabCNesbitt · 09/04/2014 03:23

TravelinColour, you know, if I'd seen that skirt in the shop, I'd have gone right past it - I wouldn't even have thought of it as an Autumn skirt. And then I looked at it on zoom, and it shows how much I need to try out things I wouldn't normally have considered, and check them against the swatch!

RockMummy · 09/04/2014 07:50

I have the bobble dress which I bought in the sale in Jan. I have worn it so much, looks great with long boots or shoes. Hope you enjoy it too!

Hopefully · 09/04/2014 11:29

Good haul Cheese! I love the Lena tunic top.

Thanks for all the congrats Smile. I am still in post natal style wasteland (c-section means even maternity jeans are uncomfortable, so am rocking leggings or harems every single day), but looking forward to losing some baby blubber and getting into spring/summer clothes!

OnionRing · 10/04/2014 07:57

Hi, I was diagnosed as a blue autumn recently. I'm going back to work after mat leave and am trying to put together a cheap capsule wardrobe that actually suits me. I need to do the big wardrobe clear out first though, 90% of my clothes are WRONG.

Anyway, was lurking here so thought I'd say hello.

charitygirl · 10/04/2014 10:07

Hello OnionRing! I did a big clear out after diagnosis too - having very few clothes left worked as a burning platform to buy new, and well, for me! Easier coming into summer as clothes for this season are a bit cheaper.

Talking of which I predict I'll be wearing this new purchase a lot over the next few months
www.asos.com/ASOS/ASOS-Midi-Pencil-Skirt-In-Jersey/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=3653516&SearchQuery=Coral%20pencil%20skirt&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=36&sort=-1&clr=Coral

And to my surprise it looks fab and very current with this. The skirt is high waisted so no flesh is flashed

www.asos.com/ASOS/ASOS-Cropped-Boyfriend-T-Shirt-with-Roll-Sleeve/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=3962222&SearchQuery=Cropped%20boyfriend%20t%20shirt&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=36&sort=-1&clr=Nude

It's quite a pinky nude - not in the wallet but very like the shell pink which Kettlewell have in their autumn range and which I saw my Autumn consultant wearing! This is my autumnal version of all the ice creamy pastel shades around this season.

charitygirl · 10/04/2014 10:09

And sadly I'll be returning these bargainous beauties as they're just too high for me. So if you like them, and are a 39, there should be a pair available again in the next week!

charitygirl · 10/04/2014 10:10

More realistically I'm very tempted by these....
www.clarks.co.uk/p/26102946

BabCNesbitt · 10/04/2014 16:33

charitygirl, what's the quality like on the Asos skirt? I'd like to try it (yay free shipping and returns!) but is it going to highlight all the bumps and dimples on my thighs? (And if you don't mind me asking, how tall are you? I'm wondering if a midi skirt will hit me just above the ankle - Orthodox is not the look I'm after Smile)

whitecat · 10/04/2014 18:06

Gorgeous colour on those Solsana wedges charity it's a pity they're too high.

maggiemight · 10/04/2014 18:30

I have just been HOCed as a blueish autumn. After spending hours online and failing to find anything much I came across this in a local shop
www.klass.co.uk/coats--jackets/bn5gls1/0/1/?colour_code=BN5GLS1
(it only comes in bigger sizes)
I like it but feel it is maybe a bit too peachy for a jacket. I have a month to think about it.

charitygirl · 10/04/2014 21:30

I'm 5'7'' Bab and it is top of mid calf on me. Quality's ok - it's not double thickness like my more expensive ones but I can't see cellulite through it! Does require a G strong or short style pants tho.

charitygirl · 10/04/2014 21:50

Suddenly there's so much I want to buy. Slightly obsessed with this jacket:

www.zara.com/uk/en/woman/outerwear/jackets/short-jacket-c401038p1769581.html

But also taken with this one:

www.zara.com/uk/en/woman/outerwear/jackets/short-jacket-with-button-tab-c401038p1836018.html

maggiemight · 13/04/2014 08:38

You can design your own personal trench coat, and other things, on this website
uk.moodbyme.com/womens/coat-jacket/trench-coat

So choose the colour and lining you want.

Hopefully · 13/04/2014 14:02

Charity I like the first one best Smile. Go with your obsession!

Maggie that jacket looks good. love the trench coat design site!

I have a similar skirt to Charity's - peachy and single layer (it's from a couple of years ago, also from ASOS). I wear it a lot, but always wear a light control slip under it to avoid VPL and prevent wobble. Can imagine skirt looking good with that t-shirt Charity, wish I was slim enough for anything tummy displaying (whether covered by skirt or not!) at the moment. Still have four-months-pregnant-looking tummy to contend with.

Hello onion, welcome! I'm sure you'll pick up some good ideas.

I have been trying to put together a bit of a capsule wardrobe, since I have remembered how uncomfortable jeans are on a recent c-section scar, so even maternity jeans are out for another few weeks. Have done an ASOS order or some denim jeggings (I hate blue denim on me now, but needs must) and a shirt dress. Have also ordered gold jalouse for wearing with jersey skirts now and with skinnies once the scar is a bit better. I have also ordered the hush ruched skirt in slate to try too, as sometimes the Hush grey is quite murky and looks ok with autumn colours.

Can't remember if I linked them before, but I am also currently living in these skate shoes.

CMP69 · 17/04/2014 10:57

Hi everyone
I have finally made some autumnal (I think) purchases. They are lovely anyway Grin
