dry I love that film and always wanted to look like this

one that's disgusting that men say that. Maybe retort back saying shame that their willy isn't as big Grin

QueenCadbury · 02/08/2013 08:04

dry yep, Wallace and gromit. Sorry, keep forgetting it's just a Bristol thing and no one else has a clue what I'm going on about!

I survived last night and was the perfect host ie topping up everyone's glasses and getting them all pissed, myself included. I was very happy in the end with my outfit, went for the navy monsoon and dh told I looked lovely.

Annianni · 02/08/2013 08:25

Glad you had a good night Qc.

Dry, you need some Dr Beckman (sp) colour run sachets.
T'iss marvellous stuff... you stick the ruined items in a bucket of water for a few hours and they come out looking all white and sparkling :o

MarshaBrady · 02/08/2013 08:38

Foxy great! Atm our plan is subdued, coffee, chat and fashion. So not as indulgent as last time, although I am sure just as nice. Be great if you join us! Will pm details.

Well done QueenC sounds great.

I've realised that collarbone is best length for me, any longer and it's a knotty nightmare.

Drywhiteplease · 02/08/2013 09:05

Oh QueenC I was wondering because if you're ever in Yorkshire you can visit the creamery in Hawes where they make Wensleydale , loads of W and G stuff because they did wonders for reviving the cheese. Used to take Dvs ...they loved it ESP the tasting room where you can stuff yourself with Wensleydale....big fans here!!!Grin

Drywhiteplease · 02/08/2013 09:16

Anni lol...I read "David Beckham" was thinking " bloody hell, even Posh dyes his undies yellow too.....that's the secret of his impeccable grooming!"Grin
Hmm

mignonette · 02/08/2013 09:29

Goo Morning everybody. Today is my Birthday (feeling a bit self conscious about typing it!). Am going out to dinner tonight with all the children and their partners but otherwise my day consists of two weeks worth of washing from son who returned from Tunisia yesterday plus my own too.

I received the best gift ever in the news that my niece is going home 'on trial' with a Paed nurse for support. They have confirmed she is deaf in one ear, has had three cortical strokes and has as yet unknown impairments but would you believe she has been BFing? That little mite is as tough as old boots. She was so sleepy but since she has been feeding properly she has become very alert. She is having 2 hours of physio a day also. I bought her some of pinterest.com/pin/457326537131449575/these as I love the super cool grey tones and Brothers house is very chic so I must not 'spoil' that Grin....Have also sent her a black and white mobile and books as she seems to have vision but of course that cannot be quantified fully yet. The hyper-cooling/induced coma at her birth seems to have salvaged a lot of brain function but I remain cautious because that is how I am. But I am happy.

RE boob comments, my DD has got an pair that she inherited from goodness knows where because I only started wearing a bra in my thirties and they remain pretty much where they started. I hate the leers she gets and the casual comments from colleagues asking her what size she is. She wants a reduction and because she had spinal surgery yrs ago, she'll qualify for one. I vividly recall a conversation I had with a lascivious ward manager in which he directed all his comments at my breasts. I told him that my face is a little higher up. Men can be like bloody rabbits in headlights when they see breasts albeit covered up ones!

shopafrolic · 02/08/2013 09:32

Morning all! LOL at Dry - there's my new business venture right there!
QueenC well done at being hostess with the most-ess - lovely when DH's comment positively too!
Foxy YY please join us - much more low key this time (not sure how good I am at subdued though Marsha ?) Grin But no alcohol involved....Shame you're working over the Bank Holiday weekend though.

Happy Birthday Mig and wonderful news about your niece.

QueenCadbury · 02/08/2013 10:02

Happy birthday mig. Absolutely fantastic news about your niece. She sounds like a real little fighter. How's her big sister? Is she excited to have her home?

I've finally managed to get through a huge pile of ironing so am finally wearing some decent stuff again. The last couple of days outfits have consisted of the dregs of my wardrobe!

dry the cheese place sounds great. Will check it out if ever venture up north!

shopafrolic · 02/08/2013 10:04

Lots of Saltwater clothing on BrandAlley today for those that love it

OP posts:
mignonette · 02/08/2013 10:12

Queen Her big sister is happy and excited but having massive temper tantrums because she has been so frightened and understandably unsettled. I will not forget the call I made to my Brother after he thought baby was going to die. I could hear my niece screaming in the background and he begged me to come. Awful. So have sent her some Fashion design books. (She's only 8 but spends all day fashion designing!) In Germany they do these drawing books that are printed with silhouettes of human shapes that you then draw a clothing design onto. They are brilliant and I spent some hours merrily designing away with her.

Will look at Saltwater Shop. I think I have raved in the past about my lovely Shetland wool Saltwater cardigan in this beautiful marl lime/yellow which sounds hideous but is lovely and has lasted years.

shopafrolic · 02/08/2013 10:18

Check these bad boys out loafer fans from the people who bought us Pretty Ballerinas

Camo is going to be all over the stores this coming season and these have a bright red sole. The latter probably more versatile as camo wil be in/out like a flash and if you like to be current, it'll date.

shopafrolic · 02/08/2013 10:26

I love the camo ones Mig - I had just pinned them while you typed! Might work well with this or this (not worn together!) which are both on my lust list

I don't wear a lot of skirts - can someone who does tell me how this could be dressed down for running around with DS? Or is it strictly smart?

Can I join this thread please oh wise style gurus?

I am trying to rediscover my style mojo after a year being on leave from work and slobbing around the house in jeans and hoodies. Going back to work in September, and am already anxious about my wardrobe. I had a little fashion show for myself last night with the clothes I have, and I think lots of my 'work' clothes will be far too overdressed.

I read through all this thread last night, and have been inspired by lots of the lovely things on the links.

I spotted this lovely dress and also have my eye on this coat as a bright alternative to my black winter coat.

shopafrolic · 02/08/2013 10:29

Marsha and Foxy when we meet, remind me to try on some Pistols please. I want to see if they actually suit me!

Sleepwhenidie · 02/08/2013 10:30

Happy birthday Mig and I am so pleased to hear your niece is doing well Smile.

shopafrolic · 02/08/2013 10:31

Welcome skylerwhite - definitely welcome, especially with links. I love the colour of that coat. What line of work are you in? Different to before mat leave?

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 02/08/2013 10:32

Shop will do! and Grin

Skyler love that coat, and welcome!, but don't wait on it as it will probably sell very quickly, great bargain.

Happy birthday Mig.

Ok rushing, back in a bit.

skylerwhite · 02/08/2013 10:35

Thanks shopafrolic. I'm an academic, so have been on research leave, not maternity leave. This is my first 'proper' job as a lecturer Smile. I'm 30, but look younger (or so I'm told when people are astonished that I'm not a student) and so not looking like my students will be important for me. I get the impression that the department I'll be working in is pretty relaxed, so don't want to look too over-dressed either. It's a minefield!

McNally · 02/08/2013 10:35

Happy birthday Mig! Lovely news about your niece. Thanks for updating us. What a little fighter.

Glad yesterday went well QueenC. Bet you looked fantastic.

Mmmm, Wensleydale Dry. Packing for weekend in Yorkshire right now big unlikely to fit in visit sadly. Sounds great.

Hello Skyler! Haven't looked at links yet, but will do now.

Sleepwhenidie · 02/08/2013 10:36

Welcome Skyler, I like that dress.

Shop I am pretty sure Pistols will look great on you. Am Envy about your little MU Smile.
