i must say though, if im out and i see someone that looks really good i will tell them. i think its a great thing to tell another woman that you think they look good.

MamaG · 04/06/2006 18:17

I agree Zoe, its so much better coming from a woman - you know they're not just trying to get into your pants! Well, not always Grin

zoeuk1 · 04/06/2006 18:20

definately.

fullmoonfiend · 04/06/2006 18:24

Depends on the person saying it though - ever had that totally fake ''oooooh, you're looking lovely'' (usually from someone you know hates your guts when they have an audience!?)

babyonboard · 04/06/2006 18:41

gosh yes..i hate that..
and i often get teens on buses loudly talking about me..grr..
'ooh look at her..who does she think she is..i hate whiteys!'etc etc..
hmmm...

babyonboard · 04/06/2006 18:42

racism works in every direction..though it's very litle noted inb that respect.

fullmoonfiend · 04/06/2006 18:48

babyonboard - i had my message deleted, I had no intention of causing offence and it really pains me to unintentionally upset anyone. I just wasn't thinking. Shake hands?

babyonboard · 04/06/2006 18:53

yes of course..i understand it was probably just flippant or tongue in cheek..
i'm just hormonal/ have a teething baby/ overheated right now..hehe
no worries!. x

LadyTambaOfTambaTown · 04/06/2006 18:54

Wow some of you are bitchy Shock

I wear what I want, regardless of whether i think other insignificant people will think it looks good or not...

tigermoth · 04/06/2006 20:40

There are lots of large teenagers around my neighbourbhood wearing mini skirts, tight tops and other skimpy clothes. I agree with fiofio - I am glad the have the confidence to wear them and are not full of angst trying to throw up. IMO You don't have to be stick thin to carry off these fashions, if you are young and happy with your body.

notanotter · 04/06/2006 20:41

its good to make up!!!

tigermoth · 04/06/2006 20:43

zoeuk1 - I don't think women are necessarily bitchy. Do you think this is a female trait only? I have come across lots of bitchy men and heard more bitchy comments about womens' appearance from ment than I ever have from women.

Feistybird · 04/06/2006 20:44

women over 40 shouldn't wear strappy tops??

bugger off.

willow2 · 04/06/2006 20:49

Get in.

tigermoth · 04/06/2006 20:51

get in?

Blossomhill · 04/06/2006 20:54

It's all in context with the thread

I agree people should wear what they want, but please buy something that fits :)

southeastastra · 04/06/2006 20:54

i dont get the fashion thing i just live in jeans i am so boring.

motherinferior · 04/06/2006 20:56

I've said before that I too like seeing girls wearing skimpy clothes with confidence. I was far, far, too embarrassed and ashamed of my body to wear stuff like that at their age - I was a size 12, ffs, and convinced I was the fattest flabbiest thing on the planet. I'd far rather they cheerfully waved a bit of muffin-top around than cowered in big shirts like I did.

Blossomhill · 04/06/2006 21:00

MI - I was the opposite in that I was stick thin and hated it. Hid under baggy tops to hide my lanky body.

motherinferior · 04/06/2006 21:01

Sad, isn't it.

Don't flaunt my muffin top any more but do get my norks out more than I'm sure Cod would approve of.

squarer · 04/06/2006 21:03

MI.. I will always think of you when I see a young girl "cheerfully waving a bit of muffin top around".
I love that phrase, and by god I know where you are coming from Smile

Cam · 04/06/2006 21:04

Just come back from Italy where all the most elegant women were wearing cropped trousers. I've worn them most summers for decades - in various forms, originally called Capri pants.

Flip flops, this year I've got silver with sparkly tassels and a black/red pair with see-through straps from a groovy shoe shop in T/Wells.

Only trainers I wear outside the gym are pointy toed black leather ones. Very comfy.
