Hmm wide-strap vests seem quite hard to buy

I bought some flip flops today

I have not owned a pair before

HOW THE FECK ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO WALK ABOUT IN TOWN IN THOSE? They are not comfy.

MamaG · 04/06/2006 17:21

Oh god I know morningpaper, I cannot wear flipflops, I like how they look, see other people effortlessly flipping about, and it just hurts like hell between big and second toe!

ow ow ow

GDGwithacraptan · 04/06/2006 17:23

Ahhh, how I've missed you all!

Agree re toe post flip flops - torture!

morningpaper · 04/06/2006 17:23

What can you wear on your feet that is ATTRACTIVE but you can also plod 2 miles into town and back?

morningpaper · 04/06/2006 17:24

i do love the way they look

so pretty

great when you are sitting down

I might have to drive everywhere

zoeuk1 · 04/06/2006 17:24

i love flip flops. ive got loads of pairs because they are so cheap.

MissChief · 04/06/2006 17:25

how about horrible horny-toed people (such as myself)? can't stand looking at my feet in delicate strappy things such as flip-flops/sandals..hard to know what to wear that's summery but concealing too Blush

babyonboard · 04/06/2006 17:27

sitting here typing away in my strappy size 16 vest top feeling really good in it, despite my 48 years - sorry cod! (the trick for me is not to buy them too tight or short and wear a bra underneath) I may not look a million dollars but I am happy with the end result.

I think the worst "look" is when people squeeze into jeans and there sides and stomach hang over. Buy jeans that fit!

Oh and any type of ankle swingers too (especially my pet hate on kids)

zoeuk1 · 04/06/2006 17:38

also tracksuits with heeled shoes. usually worn by people who have a nice greasy ponytail slicked tight so it gives a natural facelift.

babyonboard · 04/06/2006 17:39

must agree..why the hell should you dress in a shapeless sack just because you're not rib skinny..
pfft

babyonboard · 04/06/2006 17:40

but lol..at ankle swingers..my gran always asks 'has the cat died?' when she sees people in them..no idea what she means but it's funny

morningpaper · 04/06/2006 17:40

no doesn't hurt feet

mary janes are for good girls

zoeuk1 · 04/06/2006 17:40

and why do i keep seeing young plump girls wearing mini skirts? complete with pale fat corn-beef legs? do they look in the mirror??

Blossomhill · 04/06/2006 17:41

I am stunned at the amount of overweight teenagers to be honest.

Once we get into our 30's women do put on weight but some of these young girls that I see make me feel :(

MissChief · 04/06/2006 17:42

mp - hey, are you suggesting I'm not a good girl? Grin

never up on shoe categories - mary janes are the ones with the strap, aren't they? so suppose they can be flat angelic or sexy-heeled diva?

zoeuk1 · 04/06/2006 17:43

i know blossom and they insist on wearing the latest fashion even if it is a 10inch long skirt and a tight boobtube.
