Novice I hope you find a way to clear your mind this weekend...
Get well soon to Linus DD
Marsha I'm sending good washing vibes
Am wearing the new cargo pants. I'm in love, so slouchy and comfy. Wearing rolled up with taupe Jalouse, cream M&S ribbed back tee, Mint Velvet scarf and my leather jacket (which I picked up this morning and still love luckily!)
Gorgeous things in store at the Dressing Room.
DH bought a gorgeous mac / overcoat from a local tailors to wear for his commute. And he got himself some olive green Converse. Successful trip out.
Still no idea what to wear tonight but bought some leg make up stuff in case I brave the dress. Has anyone used it? Any tips?

Shop have just emailed you - I am a total f*&kwit! Glad the trews are a success.

Marsha those Kors shoes are gorgeous.

Good luck at Doncaster Grumpy hope you are breaking open the bubbly.

Novice hope you get to chill - good rows are needed every now and again. I have had a lot of work drama this week but cannot share as it would out me!!!

Also question for Novice - you said Swarkovski do half price sales - are they due one soon do you know? I had a browse around this morning and saw a few things I really like. Going to Magnolia Silver tomorrow so may order a 'carrie' necklace!

Dry your spanx story made me laugh. I almost hyperventilated once in an M&S changing room trying on one of their tummy control vests - never again. And I couldn't cope without the multiple !!!!! Grin

Waves to everyone else! Off now to browse the Dressing room....

Shop did you see that there's a 40% code for Swedish hasbeens? I ordered those Debutant ones the frugality blogged about in white for £45 delivered.

Nope - didn't see that Amber.....
Right - tried Whistles dress on which looks fab but I was originally supposed to wear it for my 40th meal with DH that got chicken poxed off so I feel I should save it to wear with him.
Tried numerous things on and felt lousy (must be having an off day). Think I'm going to keep it simple - cream James skinny jeans, AV tee in beige, cream Whistles blazer and nude Floretes with mini Mulberry bag in tan. Just a bit scared it's too matchy matchy, might have to toughen it up with my brown biker at the last minute....... What I really need are Sleep's gorgeous necklaces that she was wearing when we met...... Hmm, will just wear my Swarovski cocktail ring instead and Michael Kors watch.......
Marsha what did you decide on?

Not sure yet Shop. Not the red. But think the black dress and blue Kors will be too dressy. Be good if I could do something not so dressy with those shoes. Will have a wardrobe explore soon.

Also am annoyed that I washed my hair with wrong stuff and forgot to use the Aveda. I need it for a bit of oomph. Might rewash. I feel a bit bleugh but I think that is typical, like I go into energy save mode or something pre-party.

I like everything but the jacket. (Well I like the jacket just not with the rest of this outfit)

Do you maybe have a cardigan/jacket in a similar colour to your shoes? Or if you do wear the jacket can you wear shoes/boots that will toughen up the outfit a bit?

santamarianovella · 01/06/2013 18:17

wear your fabulous leather jacket instead, and tougher shoes.

Novice I hope you are relaxing and enjoying your weekend! It sounds like you had one hell of a week.

Foxy hope the Wang came out ok.

I managed to get an hour of childfree shopping today so I quickly nipped over the border to France.

The nearest town is a 15 minute drive away and quite small but has got a few boutiques.

I had to back out of the first one as the orange sales assistant (seriously, she looked like she had just come back from a holiday to the sun. Even more accentuated by the neon orange dress she was wearing) tried to convince me a satin dress was just the thing to buy, even when I explained that I had a toddler and a baby. Hmm

The second boutique might me my downfall though. They sell Maison Scotch, American Vintage and other lovely brands so it would have been rude not to buy anything.

I bought two American Vintage Jacksonville tees (40 ? so cheaper than in the UK) in Marshmallow and Candy. So now I have four AV tees, all in different shaded of pink Blush

I did try on a blue one that was called cobalt but that blue just wasn't vibrant enough for me.

Poor DD ate ok-ish today but this evening her temperature was quite high so I gave her some paracetamol. I am not sure it's teething as we only discovered she had her first two teeth when they were already poking out of her gums, so she doesn't seem too bothered by it.

I also feel a bit unther the weather (runny nose, sore throat) so maybe she has caught the same bug.

I am a lurker but just wanted to say hello to all on the new thread.
I bought a beautiful Hobbs silk dress today in Oxfam for £6.99 and a fab vintage sequin jacket for £14.99. Happy days.

Right, cream Whistles jacket ditched in favour of biker. Have discovered this evening that I need three things:

  1. A pair of fierce evening shoes in gold, tan or brown if such a thing exists? Preferably caged
  2. Long gold coloured necklaces for layering
  3. An evening top so I stop going out in t-shirts or silk blouses.
Don't feel 100% happy with my look but will drink through it
Have good evenings all and waves to happyreindeer and her bargainous purchases - LOVE

Shop am with you on wardrobe holes. I need copious going out things.

Hi Happy! That sounds lovely.

Ok after lots of changes have settled on taupey Stella M fine knit dress and Kors cobalt heels so am not all one colour. Feel ok, hopefully not too short. After a glass of champagne I should not care.

Thank you so much ladies, you're all so kind. Thanks Have had a nice day with the dcs so my stress levels have gone down. The row was because X didn't like the script I have written my presentation. Has been needling me for 3 weeks and has tried to rewrite it. I had a rehearsal with the actress who is coaching me and she said its lost its sparkle and charm, and that its not me. So she advised me to go back to my version. I did a great run through then did it again for X and with my nerves I fluffed it. Row ensued. The event is now close and the script is still being tinkered with. X doesn't understand why that's stressful for me. This is a big career deal so extra stress. Anyway I have decided to bugger my integrity and go with X's bland version which makes me sound like a bad parody of a middle aged man Hmm because I can't be getting stressed like this for the next 2 weeks.

I hope Marsha and Shop have great evenings in their fab outfits Smile

Liberty, Magnolia have a huge range online that you may not see in the shop so check both! Swaroski have a 50% sale in June. I was there eyeing up some rings that I might get if they are discounted to add to the vast collection

I saw the most stunning looking woman today. She was wearing an orange jumper with white trousers, beautiful sandals, great make up and manicure. Statement necklace and big chunky rings. She was so on trend that I just want to copy her whole look. She was mid to late 60s Shock reminded me of dm and dmil. Go her!

Great outfit shop. The biker will have un-fevered your look. Wink

V bargainous purchases Happy. I thought I'd done well with my £35 silk Marc Jacobs halterneck from ebay, but you've out-thrifted me.

Sadly no bubbles today. Our horse got a bit overwhelmed with the occasion and didn't run as well as we expected. It was crazy busy at Doncaster though, with a funfair and everything and the poor baby just got stagefright. Cheered myself up by coming home and ordering the grey/black spotted sweater and dalmatian print dress from the preview. Well, I'd already ordered a heap of stuff for DD2, so why not? Agree with general consensus on the Boden preview thread that there is a decidedly J Crew influence about it these days, which ain't no bad thing.

Hi all. Pissed post. Felt good in oufit but definitely needed some bling. Lots of prosecco, sauvignon blanc, crab starter, lobster tails, apple tart, apple shots, dodgy cava. V pissed. Bed now. Xx
