That sounds quite alluring to me Foxy Grin but it probably feels the same as dhs who lug in bikes to put in the garden are a while.

Dh's knees are ok, no shorts for work but often at home. But he'd look really bad in long socks Grin

foxysocks · 03/06/2013 09:54

waaah! knee high socks on DHs would be hilarious

SR compliments cancelled out by DS telling me 'big fat bottom, Mummy' as he patted me rofl. dry toast and water for him today.

MarshaBrady · 03/06/2013 10:01

Rofl at dry toast and water Grin. I'd be the same.

Grin Foxy. DD2 just told me my skin's 'baggy' Hmm. I love compliments (shame we rarely get them).
Have to make an appearance in my office at some point and with DD2 still at home due to an inset day tacked onto the end of half term, it's not going to be easy. I've invoices to get out and I've had a message from Royal Mail telling me my Dressing Room package has been delivered, also to my office. At least I have incentives to go down there today!

I did Ripped in 30 this morning, and as I was doing press ups DS said 'wow, mummy, you're really hard'. Not sure if I should be flattering or not.

Not making the most phenomenal effort today - wearing short sleeved navy/white boat neck Breton tee, indigo TS Jamies and el cheapo neon yellow H&M pumps. Need to find something to edge it up with.

AmberNectarine · 03/06/2013 10:10

Flattered. Sigh.

What's the difference between ripped in 30 and the shred? I must do the shred at lunchtime as didn't do it yesterday.

Lovely walk to school in the sun and then I took dd for her first settling in session at nursery. I'm having a wobble and feeling guilty about sending her to nursery for 2 days when I'm not working. I do need to break from her though for my own sanity and to have a chance to do all the household chores and it'll certainly make the other 3 days with her more special.

My dc always tell me tht I have a jelly belly. I guess I shouldn't be upset with them for telling the truth Grin.

QueenC Don't wobble. Best thing I ever did for both of us was to send DS to nursery two mornings a week even though I'm a SAHM. I get the jobs done that I can't do when he's around, and stay sane. He does messy play, painting, music. He's more outgoing, more sociable - he loves it at nursery and we have a great time together too.

QueenC I did the same from last year. Ds2 at nursery two days a week. I got to do stuff, meet Dh or friends for lunch and generally feel better about the other three days. I think it's a very good idea and they do get to do loads of stuff. Painting, new toys, dance (they even do yoga which is very cute).

That's gorgeous Shop.

Report
QueenCadbury · 03/06/2013 12:43

Thanks shop and marsha. I'm not sure why I'm wobbling as the other 2 started nursery at 9months but I guess I was working then so they had to.

Anyway, I'm now lusting after saltwater sandals after seeing the other thread. Is that bad?? They look super comfy for the school run and having checked out Pinterest, alexa Chung wears them. So they must be cool, no?

Report
MarshaBrady · 03/06/2013 12:47

I think it's normal to wobble on it, I think I did. But then he began to really enjoy it.

Having seen a photo of you QueenC I think you could definitely do those sandals Alexa Chung style.

my friend has those in yellow queenc, she totes pulls them off.

pmsl at 'really hard' amber

oh and also agree on nursery. DS does two mornings, originally so i could work but the contract has now finished and we still send him. i might start teaching on those days but haven't quite decided, am enjoying time to catch up on housework/washing/kindle etc!

speaking of teaching i landed a private for tomorrow night eek. good ££, hope it goes well.

Love that sweatshirt, it's fab.
Like those sandals too.

We're on St Anne's beach.
It's lovely, with a slight breeze.

The boys are digging.
I'm tanning my ankles and arms :o

Oh no...

Matches have sent me a sale code.

They must be sending them to everyone now, all I've bought this season is the silver Superga.

Report
MarshaBrady · 03/06/2013 13:23

Ditto Anni think I must be on the 'and everyone else' list Grin.

Report
foxysocks · 03/06/2013 13:34

and me, lol

will the actual sale be more than 30% though?

Report
MarshaBrady · 03/06/2013 13:35

It usually is I think. They end up reducing things more as weeks go by.

[waves] Hello All, long time no see.

QC, I like them, and can def see an AC vibe thing. To me it's like the Hasbeens as well - I love how they're looking on other people, but not sure I can pull them off (and I suspect my mum would like them and ask me where they're from [weep]).

Not on the Matches list, although seeing as I've never bought from there, they'd have to be psychic to have my details...

Loving the DC "compliments"!

Have just bought a pair of Aviators from secret Sales thanks to a link further down. It'll take them a while to get through though, boo! I had a pretend pair a couple of years ago, and love the look.

Also ordered a pair of white Converse at the weekend. Probably a stupid purchase, what with living in the country and all, but at least I can bung them in the washing machine as required...

H and I off to Lisbon on Thursday for child-free weekend (celebrating 10 yr anniversary Shock). CAN'T WAIT, and have been planning wardrobe: a couple of knee length jersey dresses with belts and necklaces, straw trilby, Gigi's, boyf shorts and linen Ts, and swimmers of course. We're going to a naice restaurant on the Friday, so thinking of this jacket: animal, with a white smart vest underneath and maybe white cropped coated skinnies? These [http://pinterest.com/pin/283023157802991201/]. And Gigis. It'll do, right? [gnaws fingernails]

We're taking hand luggage only Hmm, so need to keep things to a minimum...

Hi All

I've been absent due to painting the bathroom and have spent today catching up on the thread.

Anni How is St Annes beach today? St Annes is my hometown and I was thinking at the weekend how nice it would be to go to the beach there. (I presume you mean St Annes in Lancs?)

I ordered the cobalt shift from ASOS but it looked like a sack Sad. In full panic mode I did a bad thing and ordered this dress. It's a bit bonkers and out of my comfort zone. I usually buy plain things and create interest by layering etc. I fancied having a dress that you can sling on with a plain pair of strappy heeled sandals and go. I thought it was a bit fugly when I first saw it but DH loved it. I haven't been able to get it out of my head since.

Great Links everyone. Too many for me to comment on but Drys Caged sandals and the Sonia jumpsuit were highlights Grin

I am a complete nobody then because I didn't get a matches code yet

paris that dress is definitely out there but I like it! It's pretty short do you have long slender legs a la marshaEnvy

Thanks for the lovely comments on pic Smile

Carrie your outfit for dinner sounds great. Have a lovely time, I love Lisbon, my best friend lived just outside (in Cascais) for a few years, had some great visits.

foxy that work sounds great, teaching yoga?

QueenC don't worry about nursery, dd will love it and you will feel like a saner person also, therefore a much sweeter mummy to be around when she's not at nursery (or is that just me?)

Lol Sleep! I'm not as leggy as Marsha as I'm only 5ft3 ut I am leggy for a short lass! The model in the dress is 5ft9.5 so I think will be much longer on me, maybe too long Wink
