Shiny new thread for some shiny new perfumes (and classics and niche brands)

Yes, Pentachord Auburn is a scrubber for me too, and the white is not much better either.. wonder if any of us like Auburn on the thread?

SOTD: Coco Figue.

Barbeque food tonight on the new barbeque! Something good to look forward to having been super stressed about DS (on antibiotics with suspected whooping cough, despite being vaccinated)..

Yes I woke this morning with the smell of Pentachord Auburn still faintly on my skin and I didn't like it at all. The first Tauer I've actively disliked.

Sorry to hear about your boy Toys - hope he gets better soon.

SOTD: Coromandel plus a little bit of Coty's Wild Musk spritzed on a few hours after. Because I'm flighty like that. I always want to wear everything all at once Grin

I've not tried Auburn, but I'm not rushing to order a sample. Grin

I like the sound of Coco Figue! Sounds perfect for the summer.

SOTD was Diptyque Volutes.

Fuckit: Thanks for your packet! It came today. I was so excited that I'm wearing all three samples now..

Ambre Sultan: It's pleasant enough, although that oregano note seems out of place, and slightly jarring. The rest of it is beautiful, though.

Shem-El-Nessim: Really soapy clean. Ok, but not great. Reminds me of something else, but not sure what.. Maybe Byzance?

Arabie: Lamb and apricot tagine. Straight up. Confused

Chocs I have the violets ready to pass on to you, pm your address and I'll pop them in the post Smile

I've really enjoyed the Tauers I've tried so far but haven't felt interested in trying the Pentachords...definitely will stay away from Auburn!

Toys Arabie is on my 'to try' list, not so sure now! Speaking of Byzance, I received another bargainous ebay lot of minis this morning, including half a tiny bottle of Byzance. Tried a little dab and tis lovely. Also have tried Pure White Linen and Roger & Gallet Eau de Gingembre, both very fresh summer scents (perfect for a beautiful day like today.)

No more ebaying for me for a while, I'm running out of room! (Searches ebay for bigger dressing table Grin )

I was wafting round the office in a cloud of Coromandel today, and three people told me it smelled wonderful. Chanel No 22 also has this effect on people.

SOTD yesterday: Miriam. Today, Nerolia Bianca.
Will probably wear Ch 22 later today, love it.

SOTD Cabotine. There are some serious moth balls up front but I like it.

CointreauVersial · 04/06/2013 12:52

I'm wearing orange today (well, skirt, bracelet and toenails!) so SOTD just had to be Bigarade Concentree. Gorgeous.

ToysRLuv · 04/06/2013 13:21

pocket: Mothballs you say... Grin Maybe I'll have to get hold of some Cabotine..

Cointreau: I've heard BC is lovely. Is it just oranges or something else as well?

SOTD: I've actually forgotten what I'm supposedly wearing. Can't smell it anymore.. Hmm Going to sell a lot of perfumes on e-bay and have been photographing the bottles today. Tried Ralph Lauren Blue, so I guess that's my SOTD. I like it more than I remember, but not enough to keep it rather than sell (it's quite rare now). I decided to sell the vintage Diorella, as well, if I can get enough money for it.

Lovely weather again. Wish I could take the laptop there, but wouldn't able to see the screen in the sunshine.

Hello perfumistas! I've been a longtime lurker on your threads, and while just bunging some stuff on ebay (am in Italy) came across this if you fancy a few more samples!!! Grin

www.ebay.it/itm/COLLEZIONE-TERRIFICANTE-DI-CAMPIONCINI-DI-PROFUMI-TUTTE-LE-MARCHE-PIU-FAMOSE-/271177670237?pt=Profumi&hash=item3f2372de5d

You might need to hire a van! (it's not me selling them by the way, no such luck!) Grin

Wow!!! That's amazing, the price too. Just to clarify, it's not me and my collection Grin

I wonder if you get the cupboard as well?

Report
ToysRLuv · 04/06/2013 17:05

OMG. My Italian doesn't stretch to understanding why they are selling it. They are listing the dimensions of the cupboard, so probably selling the whole thing with everything inside it. Literally light years out of my price range, but if I were an eccentric millionaire..

You can play "spot the perfume" with those images. Smile

Yep, the mahogany cupboard is part of the "deal" Grin I'd love to inherit something like this instead of the junk that I will be getting.

TheBirdsFellDownToDingADong · 04/06/2013 17:10

That's exactly what I've just been doing! And spotted something I wore briefly in Feb-March 87 and have never seen since- Creation by Ted Lapidus. Which made me go looking for it, and it's on German ebay.

See! I pop on here to give you a fun half hour with a cupboard and end up buying perfume myself!!

(the cupboard is mahogany....doesn't say on the insertion if it's part of the auction though)

I was idly browsing ending fragrances on e-bay and came across this. It has an interesting choice of a background! I wonder if it's trying to make a statement like: "I know it's a Britney Spears perfume, but it was given to me as a gift and I DEFINITELY didn't want it. That's why I'm selling it. And I'm really brainy, you know!" Grin

That makes the back groud I chose for my e-bay fragrance photos (a mere "rustic" wall of a shed) look a bit boring.. Wink

I'd be concerned that the bottle contains some unmentionable body fluids or perhaps a tooth or two... Grin

Loving the perfume cabinet and the brainy Britney fan Grin

A few weeks ago I came across an auction for some perfume with the person's cat sat next to it looking cute. Might try that with my cats if they'll sit still long enough...

SOTD is Organza- knew I would love it and I do. Will most definitely be buying a FB when my mini runs out.

Report
ToysRLuv · 05/06/2013 21:07

Fuzzy: Did it say "cat not included" or "serving suggestion"? Grin

I like Organza. It's very warm and smooth.

SOTD: Omnia, but it's gone now.
