The rules are:

Eat healthily but this isn't a diet, just eat well
Drink less booze. I'm going to go for 6 weeks of NO booze but you can join and just drink in moderation
Do some exercise at least 15 minutes/day, I will be doing as many brisk walks as possible, I don't really like any other exercise
Take your make up off every night
Use sunscreen every day
Get more sleep. I am going to try to be in bed by 10pm at the latest every night

That's it. Who's in?

WideWebWitch · 02/03/2006 16:59

Winnie, well done. I'm glad it's starting to have an effect. Countess, oh well, be happy and make up for it tomorrow.

I haven't drunk enough and have done No exercise, I really, really must tomorrow, have done sod all all week but in my defence have got a cold coming and have had quite a few knackered days. That's a crap excuse isn't it?

Tonight dh and I have agreed he needs wine (he's stressed) so we are going to have pizza and Chianti but only a bottle between us. I'm really looking forward to it. I will then go back on the wagon tomorrow. I have eaten apple, an avocado, some pine nuts, wholemeal toast and marmite, smoked salmon today, all qute healthy. I do need to up my veg intake though. My skin looked terrible this morning but seems to have recovered this afternoon.

bundle · 02/03/2006 17:07

mid morning: latte and jam doughnut (I know, but it's the baked-not-deep-fried version from pret)

lunch: wholemeal sandwich with organic chicken and mayo

supper: who knows? oh yes, i've got some pork rib things marinating in five spice, soy and honey..prob have with pile of veg-enriched rice

(gosh that sounds very unhealthy day Blush)

CountessDracula · 02/03/2006 17:19

Not as bad as mine

Breakfast: coffee

Lunch: Tapas (prawns in garlic butter, chorizo in red wine, patatas bravas, meatballs, ham croquettes) Red wine

Snack: 5 squares of chocolate, 3 coffees

LOTs of water though

Caribbeanqueen · 02/03/2006 17:25

Plenty of fruit and veg, but v little water. Will have some now. No junk food yet. Also had a walk round the park.

Didn't go to bed until midnight, but got up at 10 Smile.

Desperately need hand cream.

I recommend Norwegian formula hand cream, Caribbenqueen.
Well not bad so far today but I feel stuffed?...
Corn flakes, Chinese tea
2 smallish cups black coffee (can't do without)
bean and cheese wrap (Tesco 'healthy' apparently)
ratatouille and sweet potato (but did have second helping)
Will be having wine at my book group tonight but vow not to touch any snacks (usually my downfall)
Havent done any exercise apart from 10 mins each way walking to and from school
Drank much more water than usual, about 8 glasses so far. How many are we suppose to have?

granarybeck · 02/03/2006 22:29

been trying really hard, had good food, no coffee, less but some tea, lots water, bit exercise and v little alcohol (tough!) and i think i feel and look worse! feel knackered and fed up and my face is dry, especially under eyes, even after all the water and moisturiser! So, am going to bed (i know half hour late!) and hopefully will look and feel better tomorrow!

moondog · 02/03/2006 22:38

Sorry but am sniggering at Suzy's educated 'pallet'. Not as thick as two short planks despite being rather woody??

Well done on grapes in cinema batters
Bundle, too much bread, not enough fruit and veg
CaribQ, good on fruit/veg/walk. Buy hand cream, superdrug have 50p/99p handbag versions, I've got one and started using it, my hands look better already and I only started using it yesterday
cd, good on the water and ordering an exercise bike (but not on other stuff obv, although I do think my happiness = good and lookign younger might excuse you and anyone else who has a good time on the odd day)
Soyabean, good day, ditto as my comment above re wine/book group. We're supposed to have 2.5 litres of water/day. 8 glasses is good but obv I don't know how big your glasses are!
granarybeck, it takes a few days to feel better, keep it up. You can use moisturiser throughout the day if your skin feels dry

I drank wine and ate pizza again last night but won't tonight. And although I went to bed too late AGAIN, the children slept til 7am so I did get 7.5 hours sleep and feel fine apart from my cold.

I also think we've all got to remember to be as happy as possible too, it def makes a difference to how you look imo. And eat salmon if you can, it's supposed to be miraculous for skin.

OP posts:
WideWebWitch · 03/03/2006 09:02

Sorrry, am aware that 'eat salmon' is a sudden new addition! You don't have to!

OP posts:
suzywong · 03/03/2006 09:05

Good Luck to You

Moondog, what did I mean then? Pallette, is that the one?

suzywong · 03/03/2006 09:06

I did 30 minutes hard sweaty walking with the pushchair up and down hills in 35 degree heat and I'm off for a 5k ride round the riverbank on my bike now. So ner!

WideWebWitch · 03/03/2006 09:08

Well done SW. God, it sounds horrendous, I HATE the heat!

OP posts:
Blackduck · 03/03/2006 09:11

suzywong · 03/03/2006 09:13

I was asleep by 10 last night although I did share a bottle of red with DH. Did lots of walking again, drank loads of water and ate very healthily. No obvious signs of improvement though.
Following Moondog's recommendation on another thread I have started to use L'Oreal's ReFinish and my skin is much smoother. I used to have lots of flaky patches which persisted despite exfoliation - all gone now.

Off to drink more water! Have a good day everyone.

suzywong · 03/03/2006 10:18

Make that 8 kilometres
Back of the net!

yoyo · 03/03/2006 10:19

Take it easy SW - you are putting us all to shame. (Secretly envious of course.)
