The rules are:

Eat healthily but this isn't a diet, just eat well
Drink less booze. I'm going to go for 6 weeks of NO booze but you can join and just drink in moderation
Do some exercise at least 15 minutes/day, I will be doing as many brisk walks as possible, I don't really like any other exercise
Take your make up off every night
Use sunscreen every day
Get more sleep. I am going to try to be in bed by 10pm at the latest every night

That's it. Who's in?

A reminder to everyone - Have you drunk TWO LITRES of water? Or nearly? If not, go and get some. And we all know when slebs say 'my secret? water.' what they mean is 'personal trainer, a pea for lunch, botox, stylist, nanny, cleaner, gofer, dietician. And water.' but hey, I'm convinced it does help. Day 1 of no booze for me. I have done 3 hours of cleanign and tidying, am knackered. But WILL make bed for 10pm tonight for sure.

ALSO, Have you all had at least 5 portions of fruit and veg? If not, try to eat some now. A glass of juice counts if it's not from concentrate. Or an apple.

And I know this is for the HH club but someone recommended Vaseline on feet and then going to bed with Vas and socks on as working well. Sexy too!

Can I join too? Six weeks will take me nicely up to my birthday on 6 April, when I iwll be 45.

I don't look bad for my age - but do feel I am starting to get frumpy. I got not one but two copes of Trinny and Susannah's latest book at Christmans! Blush (from my dh and my brother).

Am making more of an effort - and also went from 11st 1 to 10st in 5 weeks ebefore going skiining - but I have put 3 of those pounds back on (got back last week and dh was away for another week, so I "justified" pigging while he was away).

Should we add "looking at our style" as one of the aspects of looking younger?

I go through phases at being good at drinking water, am crap at getting to bed early at night, have only recently tried to get into a routine of taking my make-ip off at night, but do wear a moisturiser with an SPF of 15 every day (and wore a minimum of 17 and a maximum of 28 when we were away skiing - using YUltrasun 20 most days).

I usually cycle to work - so that gives me 34 minutes exercise a day (plus another half hour brisk walking if I go into town for lunch).

Cut back the booze drastically in Janaury while losing weight - but have started again - think I'll just keep it in moderation this time.

Piggiesmum · 27/02/2006 18:36

I've been fairly good, nice healthy breakfast, pub lunch (but with lemonade, not the usual cider) and went for a walk to the shops this afternoon. Unfortunately ds has just cryed for an hour non-stop so I caved in and had some foxes crunch cream biscuits (slaps wrists) to cheer myself up.

But.. dh is going to cook a nice healthy tea while I have a rumage around for the foot pampering thingies someone got me for Christmas. Might be time to get the footspa out too mmmmmmm

cathyspam · 27/02/2006 18:55

great idea - am already doing some of these at the moment but people already think i look much younger than i am - not being smug - it is v. embvarrasing. I got ID'd for alcohol recently (am 26!) and people keep thinking DH who is only 31 (but looks a bit older) is my father!Blush

cathyspam · 27/02/2006 18:59

would like to add though - I have the body of a 60 year old! Overweight, saggy boobs and stretchmarks galore eugh!

Tinker · 27/02/2006 19:01

Thought the spf in moisturisers was supposd to be a bit rubbish.

Er, and Ms WWW you do not look 10 years older!

WideWebWitch · 27/02/2006 20:46

Well thank goodness for that cathyspam, I was about to hate you! Tinker, thanks, stop subverting, go and drink some water. I put 'use sunscreen' on my To Do list for tomorrow and dh took the piss.

Well so far so good.

Healthy eating - check (except one piece of cake!)
Exercise - oops!
Water intake - not too good
Caffeine - 3 cups of tea, 3 herbal teas (to replace my usual teas)
Make up - off
Also had a bath this pm and scrubbed footsies - about to go to bed with a miracle foot cream on.

Alcohol - NONE!!!!!

Thanks for this thread WWW - just what I needed!

WideWebWitch · 28/02/2006 08:42

I had NO alcohol last night and was asleep by 10.15pm. Plus I had Vaseline on my feet and socks on, which was attractive.

Reports please!

OK, I was ill yesterday and am still feeling a bit feak and weeble this morning...although I think it is all because I am ridiculously rundown and really need to revitalise, so...no more excuses.

I did eat grilled tuna, couscous and salad last night and had nil booze and was asleep by 10.30pm. Handcream on, too.

This morning... 2 slices wholewheat toast avec Marmite and v. large glass cranberry and raspberry smoothie topped up with OJ.

Am about to exfoliate and deforest and go shopping for SPF creams etc (although I am officially Still Ill but my devotion to the cause knows no bounds.)

Blackduck · 28/02/2006 09:03

No booze last night (despite bottle being put temptingly in reach)..
No sweet stuff...
In bed early - but sharing with ds in a single so not a good night...
(hangs head in shame) - nowhere near a litre of water (but have a bottle on my desk at the moment...)

Batters- you will look about 15 if you start looking 10 years younger!

I'm not very good at multitasking for a woman so I'm focussing on water only for this week. Think I had about 4 or 5 medium glasses yesterday. So that's a fail, I guess. Had 2 today already though.

CountessDracula · 28/02/2006 09:37

Well I did well yesterday too

cereal for breakfast
Low fat sarnie and fruit for lunch
stir fry for dinner
no snacking

only two coffees

but two glasses of wine (only wee ones)

Plus lots of walking very briskly

yoyo · 28/02/2006 09:58

Had a good day yesterday - lots of walking, water, fruit and veg. I went to bed at 8 and was asleep by 8.30 (still recovering from cold).

Good start to today. Moisturised top to toe (lavished attention on elbows, hands, knees and feet!). Am about to drink a couple of glasses of water and may make soup for lunch.

WideWebWitch · 28/02/2006 10:01

Well done everyone. I just poured a litre of water into a measuring jug, it's a LOT innit?

OP posts:
Blackduck · 28/02/2006 10:37

Drank half a litre this morning and just peed 3/4s of it back out ... is this how it is supposed to work Grin

WideWebWitch · 28/02/2006 20:31

How is everyone? I have drunk lots of water, must be 2 litres, and eaten quite a bit of fruit plus some chocolate cake AND I remembered to use sunscreen as I went out into the snow to collect ds!

OP posts:
bossykate · 28/02/2006 20:38

erm, some successes and failures today!

  • will defo be in bed by 10pm oh yes.
  • went out and bought sonic toothbrush
  • bought flexitol
  • booked hairdresser for tomorrow
  • no booze

otoh

  • diet appalling today, toast, bacon s/wich, pancakes - that is much worse than usual though tbh.
  • about 3 glasses water
  • have smoked like a chimney

must pull socks up or will look 10 yrs older in 6 wks at this rate!

bossykate · 28/02/2006 20:40

one more thing on the plus side - there is spf in my moisturiser!

ScummyMummy · 28/02/2006 20:41

er... 4 glasses of water so far.

Lots of food too-
in reverse order

kiwi fruit
espresso
1.5 home made cheeseburgers
2 mini pancakes with lemon and sugar
prawn sandwich
banana
pear
rice & honey snack bar thingy
museli, apple and yogurt
espresso

Did cycle to work though.

And I realised today i have spf in my moituriser! V pleased but tinker seems to suggest that won't do. Is she right?

Might vaseline my feet up while I watch telly later too.

No booze but never drink anyway unless binge drinking disgustingly at meet ups so can't feel too proud of that one really.
