Come in, come in, we have gloriously sarcastic and opinionated staff waiting to serve you. Malory will never know as I have it on the best authority she is safely away for the week.

Who's first?

Oh OK
no it would be fine with your blouses, honestly
plain skirts look deadly dull
you could look for something similar in ? Asda or Tesco would maybe have something

morningpaper · 10/02/2006 22:14

Actually I don't know what the blouses are like because I have sort of bought them on Ebay so WHO KNOWS? It's Russian Roulette.

BUT I do have a large variety of v-neck EVERYTHING in assorted tasteful plain colours following advice from cod about three months ago.

FrannyandZooey · 10/02/2006 22:16

Ok, what about this skirt , looks good with fishnetty tights in the pic.

OP posts:
harpsichordcarrier · 10/02/2006 22:16

MP you are looking for a knee length skirt, A Line, not too flimsy. some sort of flower print on the hem or small flower motif/applique.
imho
you could also try New Look or Primark or Peacocks.

SorenLorensen · 10/02/2006 22:16

Well, no-one answered my heartfelt plea so...I'm going to eat a Creme Egg!

FrannyandZooey · 10/02/2006 22:17

Oh it is cord though, is that a bit casual?

OP posts:
harpsichordcarrier · 10/02/2006 22:17

that's a good style franny but maybe not khaki cord for a christening? don't know

FrannyandZooey · 10/02/2006 22:17

Oh Soren sorry! Will backtrack...

OP posts:
harpsichordcarrier · 10/02/2006 22:18

sorry SL I missed it
will go and look now....

FrannyandZooey · 10/02/2006 22:18

No I looked closely HC and realised the cord thing....good shape for mp to aim for don't you think?

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 10/02/2006 22:24

Hmm well Soren you need to be more active so you can continue to eat Creme eggs and fit your clothes. I recommend blocking MN from the computer and going outdoors once in a while

OP posts:
harpsichordcarrier · 10/02/2006 22:25

yep good shape for MP

Sorenl buy some size 14s fgs
honestly - nothing MORe unflattering than size 12 clothes on a size 14 body... sorry
M&S allegedly size big... so a 12 might fit ??

ScummyMummy · 10/02/2006 22:35

Go somewhere where clothes are S M L instead, Soren?

morningpaper · 10/02/2006 22:36

I like BOTH, thank you ladies you are SO helpful, I am now armed with information and will hit the shops.

SL darling GIVE IN TO THE INEVITABLE, it is SO much more comfortable in the world of size 14, come and join me!

harpsichordcarrier · 10/02/2006 22:38

New Look might be your best bet MP they have loads of stock and you will have some choice
George at Asda is good too

FrannyandZooey · 10/02/2006 22:38

It was a pleasure mp

OP posts:
harpsichordcarrier · 10/02/2006 22:39

this is fun isn't franny?
it is surprisingly tricky though...
let's hope MT doesn't log on from Posh on Sea...

FrannyandZooey · 10/02/2006 22:43

Yes I am sure she checked in to somewhere with a Wi-Fi hotspot beside the bed.

It was harder than I thought but then I thought we were just going to be cutting and swan about

OP posts:
harpsichordcarrier · 10/02/2006 22:54

you see you overlooked the fact that MT intersperses the sarky wit with actual ADVICE
am worn out

motherfunkerhunkermunker · 10/02/2006 23:21

I don't know what nice clothes are. I am a style desert!

JoolsToo · 10/02/2006 23:29

harpsichordcarrier · 11/02/2006 07:23

I lurve shopping
it's only the lack of money I find inhibiting.....

FrannyandZooey · 11/02/2006 09:19

Yes yes I usually do overlook the actual work part of any task

OP posts:
morningpaper · 11/02/2006 10:46

I know this is a bit belated but can I have some earring advice. I have very short boys hair. Are long earrings acceptable or not? And what sort is acceptable?

SorenLorensen · 11/02/2006 10:48

Go outdoors? Whassat then? Is there Mumsnet?
