Please help me

I have a christening to attend - my very own baby's! - so people will be looking at me and taking photos.

But - GAH - I am rather chubby at 10 stone and a mere 5 feet high - it all seems to be on the arse and thighs.

I have two floral blouses from Per Una. I have some nice boots. I am looking for:

  1. A skirt - WHAT? The gathered-skirt seems popular in the shops but they all look like the ones I made in Domestic Science in 1987, is that okay?
  2. Tights - what is acceptble? Are fishnets okay is worn ironically?

Please please help me

I would not do a gathered skirt with a big bum, mp, or in fact a long skirt at all. Will go and look for ideas...

go to Women Skirts, Occasionwear,last page Paloma Solk Blended Print Skirt

patterned tights are great yes
make it a very small fishnet
or a big criss cross pattern

not long either
or handkerchief hem
in fact pretty much all the skirts in the shops are a big NO

It is nice, I like it but it is a little teeny bit perhaps - ahem - pricey.

Also it would not go with my floral blouses , I would need something plainer?
