Morning all. I have aready been shopping!
All the very best wishes for today mim. Looking forward to virtual champagne soon!
Thanks for the new thread amber, and for the scarf link. But yes, flowers are a no. Fussy, moi?
Belated happy birthday slay
Hope your sister us better this morning red. How worrying.
Grr at your mum ollie. Phone her up, tell her how awkward it is to hear things second hand.
Lots of support for blue and icey. First weeks are hard.
Sorry we sabotaged your shopping day Saturday decam! Gave a great time today.
Good luck with the shoes ny. Must order replacement fuchsia espadrilles from office this week. Am intending to take 50/50s, ballet flats and espadrilles and flip flops. No chance of any excercise for me just walking: maybe I'll take those clarkes yoga pumps too. Oh and hopefully get some swimming in too.
It is officially a bad season for handbags, scarves and cardigans. Back later.

Russianred · 20/03/2012 08:41

Blue you must be exhausted - try not to be too hard on yourself, it is nigh on impossible to wholly meet the needs of two children, let alone a newborn and a toddler. FWIW, I read that you should try and prioritise the needs of the toddler as much as is possible (assuming the basic needs of the baby have been met) as they will remember this time, but a baby won't. I just put DD in a sling for the majority of the time - I have one somewhere here that I am happy to dig out and pass on to you, if you would like it?

Hope you get some good shopping done today Decam - we did rather ruin that for you on Saturday, hey?

MiM you must be a bundle of excitement/nerves! Have you some music for theatre - I found that really helped (although DH planned - Comfortably Numb came on just after anaesthetic and Nancy With the Laughing Face as DD was born). You have been a complete superstar throughout your pregnancy - DS and this next DC are so lucky to ave such a devoted and lovely Mum. Can't wait for your birth announcement!

Hope you had a great birthday slay.

Your shoe dilemma made me laugh NY. I always overpack on the shoe front - your selection sounded quite reasonable to me..!

Thank you for your thoughts about my sister - I am having second hand info relayed via my Mum, but she does work for an organisation with their own medical team who are well versed in all things international, so they should get her home quickly.

It is looking like the selling of my Marni hat and necklace on Ebay may fund the Me&Em entirely Shock.

notyummy · 20/03/2012 08:47

Morning all.

Thanks for the new thread Amber!

Good luck MIM.

Sorry to hear you are finding it tricky at the moment Blue. It sound stressful and I think the sling idea sounds great. I used a sling a lot when dd was tiny. Just make sure they are secure- dh managed to drop dd out of the sling into the grass box of the lawn mower when she was 2 weeks old when she leant forward to open it!! It was full of grass so she had a soft landing and she stayed asleep throughout. He got much more of a fright than she did. He sensibly did not confess to me for months afterwards. I was inside house catching up on sleep at the time...

Hope shopping is productive today Decameron.

Am at work in blue wool Jigsaw dress, charcoal opaques and grey ankle boots. V annoyed with myself as I have left the special security thing for my laptop at home and cannot get into any IT. Can do nothing but have to stay until lunchtime as I am leading a seminar. Only got myself to blame....

Difficult weather to dress for at the moment. Apparently 16/17 degrees later so will doubtless feel odd in opaques, but 5 degrees leaving the house so would have felt chilly this morning in anything else.

OllieinOrange · 20/03/2012 08:49

Amber brilliant title, thank you! Laughed at the MU being avidly done! I realised last night that I think yours was the left over To Do book - so sorry I didnt give it to you. If you still want one, please PM your address and I can pop it in the post to you. Meant to say yesterday I really admired how you turned up having not met any of us before - the fact you haven't run away hopefully means we were not too scarey en mass! Sorry I didnt get to say goodbye - I was sampling the hand lotion in the ladies loo Smile

MiM what time do you go in later? Sending you lots of love and luck x

Apuski that dress is gorgeous - very chic and understated but lovely for it imo.

Decameron have a lovely afternoon's shopping. The jeans fit - well, they will do if I keep going with the shred for a couple more weeks which I am determined to do as am really seeing the benefit now, tummy felt positively trim this morning. Love the shade of blue so a huge thank you x

Bloss and Amber H&M has a good navy cardi (but I know you hate going in there Bloss!). Its this one here - seems to be wearing very well considering the low price. Wear mine with my white and blue breton. They also do it with a V neck but did you want something a bit longer like your grey Boden one?

Im spending the day tidying and clearing out things from cupboards etc (which I secretly enjoy but dont tell anyone)

pickledsiblings · 20/03/2012 08:52

Amber, thanks for the new thread Smile. Sorry we didn't have the chance to chat on Saturday, there's always next time.

Apuski, great dress!

Ollie, I'm with DH, best for everyone if your DM and DF stay in a hotel. Try not to fit everything into the box of how you have defined your relationship with each other. Some things that our parents do as they get older is just because they are getting older. I used to take my DC back home one at a time for a long w/e at my mum's house and that worked really well on lots of levels . Could be a great thing for you and your youngest too - no?

Bloss, impressed with the early morning shopping, don't loose faith yet about the bag/scarf/cardi.

MarshaBrady · 20/03/2012 08:56

Love the sunshine!

Segueing into SS by adding Lanvin flats and Celine orange to navy and grey Stella skinnies and slouch. Making me feel good!

I fancy a new top, pretty and summery.

Good luck today MiM

Enjoy shopping Decam

Blue it's hard the sleep thing, hang in there.

Icey how is dd?

MarshaBrady · 20/03/2012 08:57

Apuski love the dress! Will look great on you.

FritziGreenEyes · 20/03/2012 08:57

mim You are a trooper, spring-cleaning after all you have been through in this veeeery long pregnancy! It will be lovely to come home to your lovely home with your bundle of joy. Smile

blue I carried DD in a sling almost all day everyday for a few weeks. I also had a little baby hammock for her. It was the only place she would nap during the day without being held by someone. I still have it in the basement. If you want to try it, I'd be more than happy to send it to you. Hope you'll love the Edelmans!

icey Sorry to hear you are worrying about DD. Could DD snuggle in bed with you and you watch a DVD together, read a story or listen to a tape? I also remember that one of my friend's DD was always breastfeeding her doll when her little brother was breastfed, changed her dolls nappy and had a sling for her doll like her Mum had for her little brother.

apuski Fab dress! Definitely suitable for black tie with right accessories and high heels.

Looking forward to seeing you soon again reine!

Any news about your sister red?

Happy shopping deca!

pickledsiblings · 20/03/2012 08:59

Red, pleased to hear that your sister is in good hands and ShockShock at your Marni.

MiM, best wishes for the day ahead xx.

FritziGreenEyes · 20/03/2012 09:05

red Glad to hear that your sister is in good care. Ohhh, I love nothing better than the thrill of selling on ebay and the price goes up and up and up Grin. Well done!

Decameron · 20/03/2012 09:15

Thanks for the new thread, Amber, though I thought we'd have "harp on" in the title. Grin

Red, sorry, forgot to mention your sister, hope she gets home soon. That's cool that your H&M purchases will fund the dress. It will be fab on you.

I'm glad you like the jeans, Ollie. The Easter tree is in pride of place.

That baby hammock is so cute.

I was happy to meet you guys rather than shop, there's always online!

DD2 has conveniently fallen asleep so I can get ready and have a second breakfast before I go out.

AmberNectarine · 20/03/2012 09:24

I was so tempted to do the 'harp on' title, but I didn't want to give the haterz any cred [street]

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 20/03/2012 09:26

We are way too light and fluffy to be harping. Good one Amber. Grin

[outs red as mercurial eBay profiteer] [is joking]

Hope your sister is on the mend in a flash, how scary for your family! What colour Me&Em will you get?

OP posts:
pickledsiblings · 20/03/2012 09:41

Sunglasses for Bloss.

AmberNectarine · 20/03/2012 09:44

I have that fantasy too annie, alas it is not one my DH shares, so I fear we will be compromising with a dog. At least it will probably sleep through.

OP posts:
AmberNectarine · 20/03/2012 09:50

pickled yes, shame we didn't get to chat! Thought you looked fab in your GP top though! Next time...

marsha I love the sound of your spring brights and your fab Celine has got me lusting for a mini bag. Thinking mini-Gracie or mini-Marcie atm.

Thanks Amber! Yes I can highly recommend a mini bag for ease and if it's one you love it'll feel good too.

AmberNectarine · 20/03/2012 10:55

reine I know, DH had to get up with DS once last night (first time he has woken this year, and I was feeding the baby) and the amount of grumbling was unreal. Man up guys.
